that the song sounds like Kiss o' kill is okay,
but the vocals aren't bad, or?
i think it's pretty that a song sounds like a ''typical'' album song is the new single ^^
i love it!

huh??? isnt this cm like.. really old? the songs sounds pretty good though! and i love the name microphone :luv2

STEP you (even tho it makes no sense grammatically) = taking those steps towards 'you' (the person she's singing to) and getting closer to knowing them
I'm so sorry to go OT again but I always thought STEP you could be like "step 1, step 2, step you." It's kinda hard to explain... Uh, well, like when you're installing a program or something you first have step one: shut all other programs. Step two: select "install" etc. That way it would be correct english too..

But then again the "Step you sou yatte" part wouldn't really make any sense either so maybe your explanation is the right one after all. :laugh

That would be the weirdest thing ever o_O That's why it sounds very Ayuish ! (joking)
But eh, why not, her microphone as a link with her fans and a mean to "exist", that's credible !

Well, i thought about it very roughly, excuse me, but i guess that i get something, don't you think ? ^^

Yep, that's a great interpertation!

That's probably it. =D

y_nathz 14th February 2010 02:54 PM

^ Yeah it's really a great idea :D
Ayu loves her Microphone :3

ayurainbow 14th February 2010 03:05 PM

cool.... I can't wait anymore for the new album or single.... xD...

waterballoon 14th February 2010 03:14 PM

Well to me, the idea of a 'Microphone' is that she has a message - "What it means to exist - you taught me that" (paraphrasing)... and she wants to send that message out to everyone through her microphone? lol

Maemi 14th February 2010 03:16 PM

This thread is growing so fast ... @__@

y_nathz 14th February 2010 03:26 PM

^ AHS is an active forum remember ? xD

Picaflor 7/4 14th February 2010 04:24 PM

idk y everyone always checks to see if there are new songs or previews or updates on anything of ayu's. just coming onto this site and getting the unavailable page is enough for me, it's yet to prove me wrong when something new is up and about XD.

AyUmIXx 14th February 2010 05:46 PM

people are just too anticipating about this upcoming new song :)
i can't wait to! hopefully there'll be the full version soon!

JackieRos 14th February 2010 05:56 PM

AHS hasn't crashed for me what a surprise

Ianieee 14th February 2010 06:09 PM

^

because Ayu isn't in London anymore lmao xD

AyUmIXx 14th February 2010 06:37 PM

yea, these days AHS doesn't go unavailable.. which is great :)

AyUta 14th February 2010 06:43 PM

I'm so glad it isn't crashing on me. @_@ I get so annoyed. It'll happen soon. . . .

AyuWorld 14th February 2010 07:00 PM

OMG i keep playing it again and again i'm in love with this song lol XDD

can smell the kiss 'o' kill version 2~

come on Ayu leak.leak.leak

njanjayrp 14th February 2010 07:06 PM

^ I wouldn't expect any leaks, until the PV gets aired, as that's when we usually rip them :P

Neko★munication 14th February 2010 07:20 PM

This song is a great sign for me - a sign that 2010 will be better for Ayu than 2009 was :yes. It's a great start to the year (let's just... forget about CDL 09-10... :laugh...)

AyuWorld 14th February 2010 07:32 PM

yea and it's just stuck in my head now XDD and of cos the title MICROPHONE ^ ^

just like previous and waiting makes me suffering lol

rakeru 14th February 2010 07:44 PM

Everyone's expecting this to be like kiss o' kill waaaay too much. We have a short, LQ version so far. We can tell that it's a rock song with an organ, but that hardly makes it kiss o' kill Part II.

AyuWorld 14th February 2010 07:58 PM

oh just form the preview sounds like Kiss o Kill (because of the organ XD) but if me i didnt mind at all if the song turn to be a new different song that as nothing to do with Kiss O Kill

apple-pi 15th February 2010 03:21 AM

I can't hear the song at all ;_; when the Honda CM with Sparkle leaked I knew I'd love the song, but hearing this one I can't tell at all... I can't make it out, ugh. I think maybe if I replay it a couple of times I'll hear it better. Still, yay organs!

Anyway, I'm just really excited to be seeing new material in any form, waiting for the new album to be announced is killing mee~

well, to me...the lyrics suggest she's willing to take any steps necessary in order to get closer to the person and be able to know them. even to the point of becoming greedy and wanting the person all to herself but i actually really like your explanation too.

freedreamer 15th February 2010 09:05 AM

I just humming Ningyo Hime...and then the "Ningyo.Hi.Me...Tired" really feels like "A.Na.Ta Dakara" hahah...i love those kind of endings..it's filled with attitude yet vulnerability at the same time

BluishDays 15th February 2010 01:56 PM

Wow nice :) looking forward to this

primavera♥ 15th February 2010 05:00 PM

this clip has become my drug as every time i get a chance i listen to it

its lovely
i want the whole album to be like this

freedreamer 15th February 2010 05:09 PM

I feel quite useless for not being able to remember the tune sometimes...but it gives me more reason to check out this clip..
gosh 12,547 views...
the more i listen, the more amazing that music in the background sounds...feels packed

kawaii:3 15th February 2010 06:02 PM

yay! im excited to hear better quality :D

Masamune 15th February 2010 07:05 PM

it is sounds different but the organ at the last part, weird, sounds like an horror movie xDDD...mmm...anyway looking forward to listen to the entire song

Thanks so much for this sneak peek!!n__n

Ayu_no_tenshi 15th February 2010 08:56 PM

I can't say anything before I hear a better version. :D But the title really caught my attention. I had no idea Microphone is a title Ayu could use. Song sounded nice though. :3

You know, this isn't very surprising to me. When talkin' 2 myself was released, decision was often said to be a lot like kiss o' kill. I saw now similarities between the two and was like "huh" at those comments. I'm not sure if this also happened here but on this finnish Ayu forum it really did.

But I personally think Microphone doesn't sound that much alike to me. :D Microphone sounds better imo.

It's obvious it's an Ayu song though, which is good cuz it means her stuff is recognizable and it's something not many artists can pull off.

Where is the new commercial for Panasonic~? I wonder if it will feature Microphone or a new song!

nanakopy87 16th February 2010 03:49 PM

i thought we will get panasonic's CM first ? o.O

amorphose 16th February 2010 03:56 PM

^There was never any news about this CM, I don't think. It just kind of aired and we were all like "oh!" But the Panasonic one was supposed to air yesterday... so I'm wondering where it's at.

ayumisrael 16th February 2010 04:06 PM

Well as I saw GREEN's Panasonic CM was aired 2 days before the product release.
Same for Sunset (but I'm not sure on this one)
So we might get the new Panasonic Lumix CM tomorrow.
^^
(USA's middle of the night). Since as I also saw it's usually up on 3:00-5:00 PM Japan's time.

The new lumix cameras are out on the 19th so the 17th should be the CM's airing. Hopefully. XD

freedreamer 16th February 2010 04:15 PM

I'm kind of nervous to hear more clips from the upcoming album. I'm afraid the more that I hear, the more my hopes and dreams for it will be crushed. Please don't disappoint me, Ayu!

Yeah, I find the people with the most hopes/expectations for an album end up really not being pleased by it. Sometimes they're oddly specific too with what they want/don't want...

njanjayrp 16th February 2010 11:48 PM

I think what people have to remember is that Ayu doesn't make music specifically for one individual's hopes and dreams so having them is kind of like asking for disappointment lol. The most I hope for right now is an announcement lol.

truehappiness 17th February 2010 03:11 AM

Yeah, for me, a new album is enough to satisfy me. I don't want a new I am... or a new alterna, or more CREA, but it'd be nice if that happened.

All new material in my opinion can be embraced by fans, it's just that a lot of fans let their expectations get in the way and that ends up leading to disliking the album. NEXT LEVEL was thought to perhaps be a "next level" for her musically by some people and ended up not satisfying their interpretation of the title, so they thought she 'failed' but I think she succeeded on some level by venturing into a genre she hadn't dabbled in too much during her career. I hope people will be able to enjoy this album and not simply repeat what has gone on for the last 5 or 6 years with people declaring that this album is "her worst ever" and that "her career should be over with this release" and so on. It's just so disappointing to see fans of an artist be such downers about a new release that I sometimes wish I were part of a more positive fandom that actually appreciated whenever an artist released instead of constantly comparing everything to previous works and how much better things were in the past.

I agree with this so much. I mean yeah, people have a right to their opinion, but to me it seems like some fans go looking for the bad in each situation, when really things aren't so bad at all. I notice a lot of people here enjoy pointing out/talking about the negatives more than positives. Here is just an example:

Oh, I'm not really sure. I think it has to do with a lot of the people leaving the fandom because by MY STORY / (miss)understood came around, she hadn't made another I am... yet so, they left. "Sorry, everything after I am... is just bland and stale. Kthx, leaving for good."

Yeah, I remember. There were a lot of I am... snobs around - more so than LOVEppears/Duty snobs, which is weird because I think they're both superior albums. I think a lot of people were infatuated with I am... because it's when she first started composing, thus people felt the album was more "personal" and it gave people some bragging rights. "Oh yeah? Well my favorite artist Ayumi Hamasaki writes her own lyrics AND music." And a lot of the people who visited the forum back then were really big on trance and that album had Connected, which people like fawned over. You could have really called that song overrated back in the day, even though you always see it on people's underrated lists now.

love you :D sometimes i didnt understand why people like to compare too much and it's just the artist is like their "music slave" who has to follow what they want to make them satisfy. if they like I am... then they should remember what she said "I am who I am" and can accept the Evolution of her music.yes i like NEXT LEVEL and oh GUILTY too :P

We'll see if the song lives up to people's expectations when there's a longer, clearer version. I like it so far, but hopefully the rest of the song won't ruin it.

jbrat2219 17th February 2010 07:06 AM

Is there going to be a new thread made for this or are we just going to wait for the next CM?

truehappiness 17th February 2010 07:14 AM

The next CM will be coming within the next two days if she follows the pattern she usually does with LUMIX CMs, so before this hits 500, a new thread should be created with NEW LUMIX CM NEW SONG: "________" or whatever.

Coelacanth 17th February 2010 07:24 AM

It should be on the site very, very soon. If not tonight, then tomorrow night. The CM's usually get put on the site somewhere between 8PM - 3AM (US Eastern time). I know for a fact GREEN was on the Panasonic site at 3AM on the dot, whereas the NEXT LEVEL CM was posted on AHS around 8:45-ish.. but I don't know when Panasonic put it up.

jbrat2219 17th February 2010 07:31 AM

Well I'm going crazy with anticipation so I'm hoping 3am this morning. Hopefully when I wake up for work it'll be posted :D

It's just so disappointing to see fans of an artist be such downers about a new release that I sometimes wish I were part of a more positive fandom that actually appreciated whenever an artist released instead of constantly comparing everything to previous works and how much better things were in the past.

All new material in my opinion can be embraced by fans, it's just that a lot of fans let their expectations get in the way and that ends up leading to disliking the album. agreed agreed. I always appreciate her trying something..its just that some people dont see that and judge the end result immediately. Sad. For them and Ayu.

I love that she changes her style in music everynow and then, even if it means her going back to earlier sounds! I would get so bored if she kept releasing the same sound and music every year!

I also like NEXT LEVEL and GUILTY! lol I'm sure that if they had been more similar to her previews albums (specially NL), everyone would have complained as well and said things like she is not original anymore and that keeps doing the same again and again, etc. The point is that all these who want to criticize Ayu will do it no matter what.
Personally, I try to hear all the new songs with an open mind, and not comparing them to previews works (though many times it's difficult). If I like it, I like it and I don't care if it has nothing to do with appears or evolution.

I agree! I could care less if it relates to her previous style. In fact many are saying "oh I wish it was more like My Story..." Well isn't it one of the things we like about Ayu is that she is constantly changing - evolving everything about her? I LOVED. LOVED. GUILTY and NEXT LEVEL. :luv2
And still others say they want something different, "stop recycling ideas..." But I'm sure they'd be thrilled if she recycled their favorite tour/album. :rolleyes
You're right... many will critize Ayu no matter what. It's sad. :no
I am overjoyed with microphone! Not because it sounds like a load of my favorite songs mashed together (which it really doesn't), but because I love the song itself AND the fact I have an album to look forward to!

Max_ZZZ 18th February 2010 02:27 PM

honestly who cares if fans hate LOL

they wouldn't be here if they didn't think she could please them with her music
they just are being let down constantly LOL

That's how I perceived the song at first. I thought I was the only one! :innocent
But now I am fond of this "genre" of ayu music. It suits her vocals quite well. Kudos to ayu for sticking to what's best for her.

Way to go to make a statement!

Thank you! I'm glad someone bluntly stated this!

There have been occasions were I wasn't totally impressed by the whole of something, but I always knew a part of her was improving and I always had to give her the pat on the back for doing something; something new, something daring, something powerful. Even for just working so hard! I give her all my respect for wanting to try new and better things.

I wasn't thrilled about NL; I loved maybe 7 out of all 14 tracks. But I had respect for her for starting her year as an artist by trying something new. Whether I liked it or not doesn't matter, the fact is that a lot of people still loved it, and realized she could do a lot of styles of music if she worked as hard as she did on NL.

I have a love and respect for her past releases that fills my entire heart, I listen to some old songs and I feel nostalgic. Not because I miss that style of music, or there's something there that I miss, but because those have become songs that touched me in the past. I can listen to an old song and know what I was going through at that time.

In truth, a year from now I'll listen to the present songs, and those songs will be as dear to me as the songs from her older releases.

AyUta 21st February 2010 06:39 PM

I keep on checking this thread for a more HQ CM too :yes.
