Vienna is okay with people taping and recording her shows although sometimes it depends on the venue itself because of this there are many live recording of her shows some which can be found here. He's a fairly recent Hmong artist. His song "Mus Zoo Koj (feat. Sua Yang)" was one of the first Hmong songs I fell hard for. [Someone I liked introduced me to it...so it has a special place in my heart, not just for that reason though haha!] I have not listened to any of his other stuff, but "Mus Zoo Koj" is just amazing within itself. |
I'm able to show more than a handful german singers and bands, but I'll start with a recent one.
Jupiter Jones http://i54.tinypic.com/3348ahw.jpg A 4 man punkrock band, founded in 2002. They're known for their deep and great lyrics and also for the unique voice of leadsinger Nicholas Müller. After three indie albums, they finally got a contract with Sony Music Germany. Their first major album called "Jupiter Jones" was released on 25th February 2011, followed by the first major single "Still" (english Quiet or Silent) on 4th March this year. "Still" is a big success, managed to get in the top 10 on the charts and being one of the most played radio tracks in the last three months. "Still" is a meaningful mid-tempo ballad and though being absolutely not punkrock also part of their partly mixed style. It's originally about the death of Nicholas Müllers mother and loss in general. Being from the states, it's a bit hard to pick someone that isn't internationally known already and that I would recommend. My music tastes as of late are from Europe and Asia. But I do appreciate all the artists already posted. I've got a few in mind so time to find info, pictures and video!
