I don't think they will. There's no records to preserve here. She already lost her #1 album streak with GUILTY whereas she still has it with her singles.

It might even come down to something as simple as the cover - Ayu has always had a mature image, and that picture is really anything but the image she's preserved for her whole career. Especially since most of her Japanese fanbase is probably women that are her age and she's not going to appeal to a younger demographic anymore.

Very sad indeed. I think she might have shot herself in the foot here.

Maybe a second #2 will be good. Avex will just let her release when the hell she wants rather than obviously week picking.

Considering there is zero advertising for the album, this album is pretty much riding on her dedicated fanbase who seek out info about her. Magazines I don't really count, she just does the same ones every time, and they fall in with who would buy her music anyway.

These sales are not a surprise.

wow ABC stayed at #1 for the 2nd straight day , I'm honestly really surprised if not happy for yasu :3

At least the sales difference between yasu & ayumi is not that big (for now) , ayumi still has time to catch up

The CM for the album -is- aired pretty often it seems. I know that album CM promotion is pretty insane in Japan since while watching live TV I saw the same CMs like 5 times in a one hour period. I can imagine it's the same for Party Queen. She also has those TV interviews coming up!

We'll just have to see what happens! And they're never gonna stop week picking even when her streak is gone because really, I don't think they'll try to NOT get #1 unless somehow Ayu's sales reach the point of sub-top-10 status.

I see the week ending with Ayu hitting #1 with 90-100k. She's got the #1 in the bag 100% now imo.
