THIS. This time, the first feeling which has overwhelmed me after watching the trilogy was - what a pity that such good and powerful songs have such PVs... As music is and will always be primary to me - I just really feel sad that there are no strong, individual, energetic PVs for them...

I think they got to set on the idea of selling the Ayu+Maro relationship and took their focus off making good videos. Same thing they did with Ayu+Mannie. I don't care if she puts dancers in roles in her videos, because they have made better ones before. But repeating the relationship trilogy and seriously blowing chunks while doing so just sucks. She can do better videos by herself holding up her iphone to film it all.

Kirshwasser 9th December 2012 12:13 PM

or maybe her PV budget has been cut due to low sales of her recent albums, dont u guys realize lately her PVs look very simple, her last extravagant PV is probably ballad.

YuriChan 9th December 2012 12:17 PM

^You've got a point. That could be a possibility.

ayu_fantasy 9th December 2012 03:47 PM

Ayu pls stop producing such low budget pv.... I miss pvs like evolution, marionette, M, together when, momentum etc....

She used to be great, above other artists... Her videos are like one of the best in Japan's music industry (2000-2005 era)... But what's happening now? She used to be WAY better than what namie amuro is producing. But amuro seem to be doing so much better.

Do u pple agree?

I agree with Andrenekoi, I really don't think this PV is trying to show domestic violence (like one part showing an abusive behavior towards the other), it just shows a couple fighting with the same intensity. It's not domestic violence, it's just a really bad couple fight with both parts being agressive toward each other.

And it's not that what's happening is stupid, it's that they are being stupid (having a stupid atitude) toward each other.

I actually like those pvs, the way they show the development of a relationship that started in an unexpected way (the girl staying with the friend because her boyfriend was a jerk), had its nice moments, but turned out to have a really bad ending. It's something that actually happens to a lot of couples...

This, pretty much this.
The definition of domestic violence is not mine, I got it from wikipedia (that's why I quoted it), but it really is pretty accurate. As far as my understanding of the subject goes, Domestic Violente is a "little" bit more complex than a couple shoving it other... Maro is not being agressive to Ayu in order to show power, to repress her, to make her less, to humiliate her... And those are typical characteristics of the domestic abuse.

If Maro was abusing Ayu while trying to keep the relationship, if he was trying to dominate her, them, that would be another story... But in the end, he is the one who left her, and he did it pretty fast, not the oposite. I don't think AT ALL this video is about domestic violence, I don't think this was ever the point. This video is about a idealized relationship failing. We don't even know who started abusing who on the video... Because it doesn't really matter to the storyline.

I already saw some lovey dovey couples turning into street fighter when the relationship was about to end, just like the PV... And the most pathetic, imature and sad it looked, I wouldn't consider it domestic violence.

The PV wasn't even filmed in Japan, this already makes it more expensive than ur everyday jpop video.

TeamAyu2004 9th December 2012 04:34 PM

if anyone hasnt noticed she has been pretty much telling a story since Love songs... all the videos are connected to her at the moment, its pretty much telling us/showing us her chaotic life.

AS for the DV talk... I consider it as something that escalates... One blow out doesnt make it bad, but stupid... it's when it starts happening all the time that it becomes a problem... as for one person being right or wrong... if they are both doing it, they are both wrong. Just by ayumi retaliating she is in the wrong and she is just as bad as maro.

Isicio 9th December 2012 04:54 PM

I will wait to I have the DVD hahahaha

se7entheaven 9th December 2012 05:06 PM

she's like in her 30s and she should just stop acting like she's 17yo with those faces. I'm sorry but when I watch that restaurant scene in Wake me up I can't help but cringe. Snowy kiss was like...wuut.

My thought exactly!!

I have but one word...."meh."

Thank you for sharing though!

That's still violence between two people. I don't know about everyone else, but to me it clearly looked like Ayu was only being defensive with her violence, thus it being violence against her.

I don't really want to get into this, tbh.

Regardless, my point still stands that whatever is going on, it's still a pretty bad PV.

Wake me up is too good to deserve such a cheap PV...

That's why I made one ;) Check it out !

Sometimes I believe Ayu fandom measures how artistic a video is by how many wigs she uses on it...

Or how many cuts are synchronized with the beat.

Surprisingly I liked full version of Wake Me Up. snowy kiss was okay to me. Too much pointless unexplained fighting in it doesn't make me wanna watch it again.

I can pretty much see what she was trying to show in these music videos, but I'd rather watch Sweet scar again & again than these two. Good thing it wasn't another part of this story-line.

My thoughts exactly! Sometimes I think she really over use it.

When I saw the snowy kiss PV a while ago, I really don't like it. As many people said that there's a lot of pointless fighting and it's unexplained that's why I don't get. I'm not used to this kind of PV just like from LOVE SONG era where she had Mannie. Glitter/fated PV is already enough for me.

Wake me up is kinda interesting but won't be my favorite.

EDIT: When I was the PV of "You and Me", Ayu's character in that PV kinda reminds somehow of myself. I don't know if I should be telling this but when I'm disappointed, frustrated to my BF, all that Ayu has been behaving in those PVs, I became aggressive towards my boyfriend. I use anger and aggressiveness and luckily my BF won't go with it.

(miss)understood 13th December 2012 07:21 AM

Wake me up has the best music and video

I guess everyone is expecting miracles from this chick we know as "AYU"

Some of you were around when Daybreak PV was released...

Seriously, the "again" PVs aren't STEP you's in their own right, but I actually think they're more enjoyable than Next Level PV or dare I say it, evolution PV.

KillTime111 14th December 2012 10:20 PM

These are very personal.. and make you think.. They can`t be so blatinly obvious, or it isn`t as interesting.. I enjoy the cryptic messages.. That`s why when you watch them all together, it kind of makes sense, and makes you wonder.. Is Maro playing a past character in her life? These give a more cinematic feel to them.. Reminds me of the Love songs PVs.. Can`t wait to see Ayu in a movie now :).. Overall, pleasantly surprised at the direction she`s going in, fun.
