You know, I'm thinking of purchasing either this or Paris Hilton's debut. Yes, Beyonce has sunk that low in my heart. At least Paris has catchier singles and album tracks. "Screwed" is so lovely.

It's a good thing for Beyonce that she still has Dreamgirls coming up this year. There have been more rave reviews of the film that usually include something along the lines of "Yes, even Beyonce acts and does well with her role." Now I'll just hope that B'Day only suffers from bad single choices.

I don't understand why the UK edition has so many extra songs: Check on It, Encore for the Fans, Listen [from Dreamgirls] and Get Me Bodied [Extended Remix]. One or two, OK, but four? If I do buy the album, I'll probably order the UK version online.

That cover is terrible. I agree with the poster who said she looked like a drag-queen. I am suprised that such a beautiful woman could be made to look like that...

You remember during what was it: the grammys? when she sang Dangerously in Love and she had that dove fly into the palm of her hand? What happened to that outstanding voice?

lol her video for Ring The Alarm is even worse than Deja vu

spookshow 16th August 2006 08:41 AM

^ I think it's actually a little bit better than Deja Vu. Beyonce sure looks mad -- I wouldn't wanna anger her

Some comments:
-It's ok if it's only 10 songs because all of them are new. Most Jpop albums have only 7 new songs.
-Deja vu and Crazy in love are nothing alike, IMO.
-It's ok if the singles aren't that good because with Dangerously in love I thought the album tracks were the best songs. And even if the songs weren't very good, it's still worth it because of her voice.

Ring the Alarm is weird. (she be lookin' crazy) but its an improvement IMO from Deja Vu. :yes

HvnSntGurl 17th August 2006 06:04 PM

I heard Ring The Alarm on the radio last week. I like it better then Deja Vu. It's not allo that but it's growing on me. I saw the video yesterday and it may be crazy but it fits the song. At first I didn't believe this was about Rihanna but after I watch the video I think it may be. This song has way to much emotion to be about nothing.

FOXNews First Look

A few quotes:

Quote:

Imagine if Whitney Houston never had Clive Davis steering her career for those first few important image-defining albums. The result would have been Beyonce Knowles ’ new "B'Day," the follow up to her huge-selling debut album "Dangerously in Love."
Quote:

But on "B'Day," there is no Chi Lites song [as sampled in Crazy in Love] to act as a saving grace. The closest they come to a defining single is "Déjà Vu," written and produced by Rodney Jerkins with a team he’s used on Lopez’s records, among others.
Quote:

A clever ballad called "Irreplaceable" is the most memorable track, and has the most potential of catching on with fans quickly.
Quote:

"Green Light" precedes "Irreplaceable" late in the album’s running order (they’re 8 and 9, respectively, not usual spots for singles), but the well-made song stands out as the album's possible chart redemption once "Déjà Vu" has run its course as Beyonce’s club hit.
Quote:

If the two projects — "B'day" and "Dreamgirls" — arrive with any synergy, then it won’t matter if "B'Day" suffers from a sophomore slump.

There's been some gossip about Rihanna and Beyonce's boyfriend Jay Z.

Ring the Alarm (video) is ew :eek

Its official, Beyonce is crazy

pbs1605 18th August 2006 09:29 AM

I really liked the Dangerously in Love but this one is ok.

Ayashi 18th August 2006 11:13 AM

Maybe I'm too used to Beyonce's crazy attitude but I thought the Ring the alarm PV was pretty normal. The song is growing on me, it's certainly catchy, I just wish her voice wasn't edited to sound "robotic" at times.
can't wait for the album, I'm sure it'll be great because with a voice like that it can't be another way.

No_Doubt 18th August 2006 03:47 PM

I'm really unsure what to think of Beyonce's new music. I was a bit dissappointed by the tepid first single, although I don't think Deja Vu is as bad as people make it out to be. I think the problem is how familiar it sounds and how awful the video is. It really is aptly titled because listening to the song made me feel like I was having Deva Vu. It sounds remarkably similar to Crazy In Love, albeit a much worse version. Still, I thought the single was solid, if forgettable. I absolutely love Ring The Alarm though. Sounds totally fresh and Beyonce's vocals have so much conviction and are just fierce. The video sucks really hard though. Is it supposed to be funny and campy? Is it just me or do Sophie Muller's videos often look very low-budget?

xiaou-xijiang 18th August 2006 04:09 PM

When she was in that White dress with her hair all done up like that she reminded me of Whitney Houston. :dead2

Kacper87 19th August 2006 12:43 AM

what's with you people? you're saying that the deja vu video is so horrible, that's she's only dancing in different costumes. Well, was she doin anything more in crazy in love? Crazy in love also didn't have any storyline, unless you count the burning car:P

Neo Daydream 19th August 2006 01:29 AM

i agree. the cover sux. but beyonce herself is usually entertaining...
