First of all, 500 people have already mentioned this [lol]. Second of all, I made a poll once like "ULTRA BLUE vs. (miss)understood" and at one point ULTRA BLUE was higher and it has been a very close race, basically 50/50. In that case, I voted for ULTRA BLUE, although I love Ayu more than my family and friends [lol, jk]. I also wanted to hear what Kumi fans thought of the album as a whole and it seems most of them are dissapointed as well...

I thought the version with Exile was worth listening and very good too.:) The other versions just sounded awful. Koda should have just left that version on the album instead of trying to be the breakout star here........:no

I agreed. The Exile version was pretty good. Waaay better than the versions that got put onto the album.
Still, Black Cherry wasn't too bad. A bit of a let down but I like it better the more I listen to it.

the visual aspect of Black Cherry makes up for the mediocre-ness of the music

I love Ayumi much more than Koda, but I was disappointed in "Secret", while "Black Cherry" was amazing. Right now, I'm listening to both albums again and see which one I will vote for, but i think Koda wins.

I can understand if you compare Utada Hikaru to Ayumi Hamasaki. But you're comparing Koda Kumi to Ayumi Hamasaki? Wow. I don't know what to say really. I honestly do not see any sense in that.

Both albums were pretty boring I feel as Kumi's album was another best album, I only care for track 1 and 2. I mean Black Cherry was a mess. It went from Indian rap crap to pop cutesy music. As for Secret, I felt as that album was "rushed". So It could possibly compete with Black Cherry. I think if ayumi could have waited, released like one or two other singles, the album could have been successful. Everything on Secret sounds the same almost. 1Love and Jewel sounded like album tracks, both very bland. If I had to choose I'd pick Black Cherry because even though it sounded like a mix CD it had at least 5 good tracks on it as Secret didn't have any.

I think expectation-wise, I was expecting a lot more from Ayu. I get a rushed, lazy feeling from "Secret" while I feel like Kuu has been putting a lot more work into her material. So, expectation-wise, I think Black Cherry would win, but everything Ayu sings I fall in love with, so i'm not sure which one to vote for.

Black Cherry is a fine album, and worthy of selling whatever it does, but I can't embrace anything by Koda as much as I can Ayu's work. To me, she just doesn't have all of Ayu's creative spark and consistency.

That said, she still has lots of very good, enjoyable songs on this and other albums.

Actually you can basically call Black Cherry a Best album...
Basically its all released tracks and like 3/4 new songs...

Whereas Secret has liek 8 new tracks...
But most albums only have like 4/5 new songs anyways... What differs from Black Cherry and those albums eg. BoA's Outgrow is that Outgrow didn't have like 8/9 released tracks on it....

Best album should conclude artists' hits from a certain period of time (like from debut to the current time).

Which means Black Cherry =/= Best album.

I was really hoping to like Black Cherry. Now I'm glad I didn't buy it. Kuu dissapointed me again! Most of the album tracks are weak and I agree that her singles were better than the new material. I even grew to like Koi no Tsubomi. :yes The only album song I like is Get Up&Move!! Everything else is....:cry

This poll is silly because:
+Black Cherry has just released. It hasn't grow on most people yet. While Secret has.
+This is an Ayu forum. With a large amounts of Anti-Koda Ayumites.


And s1012h, because your statement "it's Koda and Ayu" is a bit questionable. Koda's fame was just a year ago O_O
