ok, so i TRIED to translate moral no soushiki (using firefox's rikaichan plug-in, babelfish, AND excite's translator. yay =3), since it was such a popular song on the album, and this is what i got:


Funeral of Moral

At the owls' cry of “death”,
Darkness opens the wound and the full moon is revealed.
From a believer to irreverent priests,
I wore a dress of mourning and I heard the voice of the wind. (1)

This evening is the funeral of MORAL.
Our Father (Pater Noster) (2)

The shooting stars are the sky's tears.
The trees' cries echo in the forest.
As sorrow passes over the lake's surface, the wind follows.
The wind beckoned everyone to the funeral parlour.

Love sits in the front next to Philosophy,
Who hold a cigarette between his lips and exhales thoughts.
PRIDE and Devotion sits behind them,
Deep in conversation, making frightfully serious faces.

I tossed a white rose into the coffin, and
Reason stood from her seat, lifting her black veil.

Even now, it surely acts as a light

Sympathy vehemently nods her head,
And all break out into applause.
Truth turned to Reason and whispered in her ear,

"I also had a son.
I hope he is still alive
Even if he is gone from everyone."

As the owl finished his cry and flew away,
The sun came forth through the morning haze.


TRANSLATORS' NOTES:
(1) literally she uses the verb 'to make clear', so it should be somewhat like 'the voice of the wind was made clear to my ears', but that sounded too wordy, so we simply used the verb 'to hear'
(2) refers to God
(3) Moral is apparently the son of Wisdom and Reason

One last note: Angela has personified each different 'aspect', such as Sympathy's vigorous nodding and Reason's black veil. Just in case you were confused as to how Wisdom was able to smoke, and Truth was able to talk, etc.

I've always liked UHPlus' version of TODAY's cover. Maybe it would see x2 more with UHPlus' cover! She needs some kind of fashion update!

I could not find any discussion about the lyrics anyway, which it is quite discuss-worth.

Truth's son is "Hope."

Apparently, she uses hope in the sense that Hope is still alive in everyone despite yaddayaddayadda... instead of using it like a verb..

I think she really puts a lot of work into her works...after all, she plays the piano in most of them, right? So she has to learn/write the song, the lyrics, and also, it has to be good quality! Angela wouldn't give us bad stuff. =]
