I think it's gonna be a fight between Ayu, Kobukuro and EXILE, until Koda releases "Kingdom". I don't see other big album release that are huge for the next 2 weeks. Unless Tohoshiki ends up selling a lot. I'm not really sure if they are popular in Japan. I guess they are a little.

Well there's (another) ZARD best (although I don't think it will do that well) and Bank Band next week (side project/band of Mr. Children's lead singer)

How did you guys know for sure that GUILTY got #2?
I just check on Oricon, and i see no GUILTY on the weekly chart yet!!?

ayu_fan929 8th January 2008 09:31 PM

^Oricon subscribers.

4ever*ayu 8th January 2008 09:54 PM

ok then, thx..

Although not maintain #1 streak, #2 is still so much better than other lower position!!
Congrats to ayu!!

NOOOOOO! That means she doesn't have her....record anymore! :weep Why no luv for Mai! Her music is great. All the other dogs are getting killed by the new ones! :weep

bluegie 8th January 2008 11:08 PM

Well Mai's music isn't that great compared to her earliest music. I listened to her music before, but she's the least innovative singer compared to ayu, hikki, ai-chan, etc.

Dustie 8th January 2008 11:18 PM

It's really annoying they don't update their site while they give out the number so early - what's the point of 'trying to keep it secret from non-subscribers' (least that's how I understand their 'intention'), when the numbers are pretty much all over the online press?...

bluegie 8th January 2008 11:33 PM

Well I think they do. Usually oricon posts the highlights of the weekly chart on Tuesday, then update the charts on Wednesday.

Here's the highlight news they posted yesterday: http://www.oricon.co.jp/news/rankmusic/51020/

I think MISIA still holds a record that Ayu hasn't beaten & most likely ever will. MISIA has the best selling japanese remix album "MISIA remix 2000 Little Tokyo".

Kuu can outsell Chemistry, even if Kindgom ends up selling only half of the amount Black Cherry sold.

MISIA has not lost her fans or gone bland. Her new album is gearing up to be among her best work, actually. What happened is that MISIA stopped promoting her music and pandering to what her label wanted. She has moved away from her formulaic R&B and focused more on making what pleases her. Her concert tours still record among the highest ticket sales in the country and she has a very dedicated fan-base. :D

I'm not surprised. Her album was B-O-R-I-N-G.

octocoffee 9th January 2008 01:35 AM

Hm...lost one record...out of countless... Fsh, whatever. AYU ROCKS! Now all I'm hoping is that it outsells Secret and stays sort of consistent.

futureLOVE 9th January 2008 01:37 AM

i think these sales are really promising....we should realize that Ayu would have gotten #1 had they just counted one week...then she would've fallen to #2 and now, she's at 1 again...i like the way it looks.

erin1m 9th January 2008 03:05 AM

Oricon weekly rankings have been updated. Just as we knew, #2.

Neil 9th January 2008 03:24 AM

I wonder if Ayu will get #1 this week!?
It's very doubtful, she has been #3 for a few days now, (until today). And her albums do have a tendancy to... drop rather rapidly these days.

Peger 9th January 2008 03:27 AM

The deaf thing really helped her sales Monday and she's still making gains on the digital charts today. There's a slim chance she'll be #1 this week.

Queen Bee 9th January 2008 03:49 AM

I personally don't care much for sales or rankings if I like the album and I LOVE GUILTY so coming in #2 is okay with me.

namiie 9th January 2008 03:52 AM

Hmm, well, #2 is not bad after all...I hope it goes on to sell steadily though and not just totally plummet week after week and stop selling period like Secret. Kobukuro's amazing, yeah, but I just recently noticed how well EXILE is doing with EXILE Love as well. 1,200,000 copies in less than a month?! Holy moly. Wish Ayu had that kind of gusto...

norain 9th January 2008 05:16 AM

Yay! Ayumi #1 daily..if no album releases this week, she might make a miracle happen...in another world.!

In the end, if this album sells a million, that beats getting a #1 album. So I hope for a million.

sugarbasil 9th January 2008 05:19 AM

O_o Why did her daily sales just jump to #1 suddenly? (and on the day AFTER the "week" ended)
