People here are just defensive of the artist they truly adore, you can't say that they are being ignorant. Its natural to defend the person you adore the most, just like how you are defending Beyoncé. Or if someone said something bad about Kuu you would be up to her defense in no time.

I just said what I said because theres always an inconsistency with people's opinions here. Many examples are:



Ayu releases a new single
"I don't like the new music Ayu is doing. I wish she would just make songs that sound like her old ones.

Ayu releases another new single that sounds like one of her older songs
"I'm getting tired of this recycled stuff. I wish she would explore new kinds of music"

^I'm not saying that they are ignorant because they are defending her. I'm saying that they are ignorant because of what they are saying about the whole copying thing. Ignorant is a strong word so forgive for saying that. I just think most of them are stereotypying her because of who she is and who she said she liked. =/

People forget that prejudice works in two directions.

Japan has the 2nd largest music industry in the world. There is a HUGE chance that Beyonce and other artists know about Ayu and Kuu. Fergie and Shakira obviously do, why not Beyonce?

I wouldn't be surprised if Mariah Carey came out and said she liked Namie or something...

But I mean, the chance that she may have been lying is up there too? Just to look good in Japan, perhaps.

People may say I'm naive, but I guess I just like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I'll believe her.

@emiko: I truly agree with what you said. I mean, okay, it does sound a lil fishy that she said their names but what you look at Ayu and Kuu are two of the most popular artists in j-music. Beyonce could've simply asked who she listen to in Japan and someone could've recommended Ayu and Kuu and many other artists to her and she happened to like Ayu/Kuu outta the bunch. We'll never know but I don't think she was being fake nor think that she doesn't give a damn about Japanese people. I think some of these people in here need ot here her song "Flaws and All". Perhaps they'll get a better perspective of her. :yes

Well, that's how they'll sound if they make a song together. Ayu has a weaker voice than Beyonce just like how Kuu has a weaker than Fergie. American singers typically have stronger vocals than Japanese singers.

I love it. I keep hearing people say that I am... is an epic album, so I hope that I Am... will turn out to be one as well. I've got hopes for it, since she actually has worked on it for more than two weeks for a change.

This is interesting because Ayumi Hamasaki is one of the few artists, that I know of, who has not had a self titled album, that is not a comptilation. When you think about it her albums have a feel that goes with the songs. However I like Beyonce,but not as much as I like Ayu and this will be interesting. Hopefully we do not have another endless sorrow and madonna problem.
