i think A Song For XX is an emotional song...well it was the lyrics of it that won the hearts of many fans..so i guess thats why...the song SPOKE to them

the lyrics I agree are emotional but the song is a good sog especially in the A BALLADS

I agree with the list, however. A Song for XX is an incredibly sad song. I cried when I first heard it, and I cried even more when I understood the lyrics. XD

maybe the way ayu sang ASFXX was a rock style
but when you had a hard time and you sang ASFXX, you would cry

SunshineSlayer has a point though; Dearest isn't all out depressing. The last stanza... it's something like 'We have taken the roundabout way but we have finally arrived at this place"... it's very representative of how people start meeting each other and all... being so awkward and weird initially, and then when we all become friends, things just go good. That's like how Dearest is, for me, at least.

it's an emotional song for me, especially the lyrics. like waterballoon has said, this song is about feeling of being rejected by everyone around you. i think it's something that always happen to our society.

i always love the original A Song for XX, because ayu's raw vocal made the song even sadder somehow :(

Even so, dearest makes me feel the same sadness of untitled ~for her~.... something like... good memories in a bad situation thing, so... yeah, it has a very bittersweet feeling

Well, it had to go on one of them, and all of the ballads are on the Black album. The lyrics are about spending your life together with someone - it has a tinge of sadness in it, but she has definitely written sadder songs.

Well there's Moments and Voyage in A BEST 2 WHITE... but lol whatever, those are the slightly happier ballads anyways.

Anyway, I really respect Ayu's ability to include slight injections of happiness in sad songs, and slight injections of regrets in upbeat/happy songs.
