Yeah, the bass in Sparkle is really orgasmic, and I want to make love to it.

I worry about my hearing because I listen to music as I'm sleeping, but a good general rule of thumb is moderation.....like if you're going to listen to music nonstop don't have it at a volume where you can't hear anything else...oh, and earbuds...totally not good for those ears.

But sometimes you just can't help it, like with "Evolution" or "Rule" I need to hear every sound effect in the song! :D

why in the world would anyone say "i want to be deaf in my left ear because i'm obsessed with ayu" ?? that's really sick and it's an insult to ayu.. :no

and no, i'm not afraid of damaging my hearing. the only time i play music really loud is when i'm in my car and even then i'm not booming it.

I Know right? I don't mind if you buy everything she releases cause you love her. But WANTING to go deaf like her, now that is VERY extreme and I suggest you do something about that D:

I listen to music only at AVLS that's a portection Sony has in every walkman right now so it doesn't (or say it's written) damage your hearing. And another cool thing, the new Sony X series has that noise cancelation thing, which really comes in handy when you travel by metro or bus so you don't have to turn the volume up there in the sky^^

noidea 2nd September 2009 03:51 PM

^ actually, almost all earphones from a certain price on have noise cancelation(which you should never use when in a city(you wont hear cars!) or when driving bike or something(just a note xD) and that sony protection...surely doesnt work, the only way to protect your ears is by going down in volume and bass, that "protection" probably is a volume limiter only

Honestly, No. listening to music everyday is not bad for your ears, however it depends what volume you listen to the music at. If you have head phones in your ears and the music can be heard by other people around you, than I would say your music is too loud and recommend that you turn it down. If you constantly expose your ear drums to such high volumes of music your hearing will progressively get worse over time, which can (and will) lead to deafness in one (or both) ears. it really depends on where the source of music is coming from and how loud the sound is. Overall listening to music everyday is not bad for your ears in anyways. Listening to music everyday is actually quite good for overall health, believe it or not.

I only get kinda scared when I've been listening to really loud songs for a while... Like, I had ringing in my ears after listening to Guilty for about an hour XD That made me a little scared, but I don't, like, have nightmares about it or anything lol

RyRyMini 14th February 2010 03:39 AM

I'm not afraid. I only listen to really loud music on occasion.

But generally speaking, I have bigger things to worry about than losing my hearing.

y_nathz 14th February 2010 08:53 AM

@captain-kawaii123 : That happened to me too xD

Crystal_Ageha 14th February 2010 09:09 AM

I love my MP3 (and so of course, I'm wearing headphones a lot), and so yeah, I worry about my hearing... But it's not just music. I get worried that my hearing will get worse because my husband likes to blast the T.V. And at my old job, I often had to blow up balloons for children, and sometimes they'd pop, and I'd totally flip out because it would go right in my ear, lol.....
My hearing is very precious to me. Music is my life, and obviously I need my hearing for that, so I like to be cautious....maybe a bit too much at times, lol.

But, I think I worry for nothing. My hearing is really good, from what I can tell. I always have the volume on everything many notches lower than what everybody needs to hear properly, so yeah.... I stress myself out for nothing. -_-'

Cherry Dynamite 14th February 2010 09:23 AM

I don't think it can damage your hearing to the extend you'll be deaf.
There's always some health risk in everything.

But sometimes Doctors tend to exaggerate on stuffs like you'll get cancer from using phone and you'll get deaf from listening to music which I think is just absurd

tenez 14th February 2010 10:20 AM

Hm. I'm not actually that worried... of course, as everyone has said, it doesn't matter how much you listen to, it's the volume you listen to it at. ;D

(Repetitive? ;D)

Diana 14th February 2010 11:40 AM

Well.. yeah .. sometimes I get scared :/ My hearing isn't that good lol Most of the times if someone says quietly something I don't hear it but my friends do :( But when I'm listening with my earphones, I don't put the volume to 100%. It is louder, but the quality isn't that much and you can't hear clearly. My friend does that with her mp4 player, and she hands over the headphones and I hate it when she does it!
But I usually listen on earphones when I get in the bus, when I go to college/meet my friends. I would say 1.5 hours of travel to city and back home :)
Also, my tv is buzzing and it hurts my ears so much that I go watch tv in my room -_- Really, I wanna buy a new tv!!

TITANIC 14th February 2010 11:43 AM

I aint affraid. I listen to the music everyday for like an hour a day while im on the way to school or to work. my earphone always stay with me. I always set 3rd highest volume if im at outside

Rainbow141 14th February 2010 08:29 PM

I've never been afraid. I listen to music every single day, on the bus to and from school, at night before bed, in the car, etc. etc. The thing is, I don't feel worried because if I do blast the volume on my music loud, I don't blast the volume while I'm listening through earbuds/headphones, or in a small area where it fills the whole room. The only time I feel one should be worried about hearing damage due to music is if you're playing the music at a volume too loud for the size room you're in, and too loud through headphones. :yes

lanfix 15th February 2010 03:04 PM

I'm the one who has problem with hearing after too much listening music thru earphone. When I was kid my mother gave me a walkman, then I couldn't stop listen to it everyday except when I was in school (it's prohibited to use walkman in class, of course LOL), I even couldn't sleep withour music. Later I started to feel my hearing ability was decreasing, a doctor once told me to use hering-aid but I refused.
This is also affecting my body's balance, if I walk in a stairs sometimes I feel like I'll fall.
But until now I still use a headphone to listening music. It's about 6-7 hours per day in mid volume LOL After I read this topic maybe I should be more concern about my ear's problem..

TheBaronAndAyu 15th February 2010 03:05 PM

Sort of, I usually listen to my iPod at about 50% loudness or just over.
