even though it fell to #15, at least it didn't do as badly as Swear lol.

and I get a feeling like I'm really spoiled by Ayu... she gets all the #1s and all that suddenly I feel alan is not doing so well, but well she is right? :)

But I try not to compare them....Ayu has 10+ years working in the industry~ So she's got the upper hand

I just get sad sometimes when alan put out great songs and she doesn't have a higher ranking~

this is probably the saddest part lol. she has strong singles and then they just... don't seem to get the recognition we think they should lol.

though for this case, I think Diamond sort of "fails" in comparison to her other ballads, but Over the clouds is just pure :heart

I feel her last 3 singles has been weak~ I adore Over the clouds though ♥

BALLAD was ok...but the 2009 version of Shiawase no Kane just felt unneeded
Swear was mediocre, and I even like Beauty better than it!

I just hope Avex doesn't go "Hmm she's not selling as much as we want her to" and then drop her~ I don't think that'll happen anymore soon...but I mean there are rising artists right now and I feel like they get more hype around their releases.

I don't remember Ashita e no Sanka with that much hype...

And I feel like her management has made some bad choices already

I see what you're seeing about anecan, but I wonder if that's her choice. Granted she has to appear in magazines, but she's said she wants to sell her talent, not her body. If she's appearing a magazine aimed at women in their late twenties-early thirties then she can still maintain that dignity, huh? I think that's the way alan sees it...

About alan and Japan, I really wonder if she would do better outside Japan :/

I mean, I showed her to some of my Japanese friends and they didn't really show any interest on her. They even said that she had a really strong accent when she sings and that was annoying, also that her lyrics and music were boring, or just meh. :(


We (The outside World) pay more attention to alan than the Japanese, and all the "good" sales that alan had so far is thanks to the magic of AVEX, nothing else.



EDIT: LOL then we wouldn't have to buy her expensive AVEX releases and just walk to a music store and check her out in the Indie section :D wouldn't that be cool *-*

If she has a heavy accent when she speaks Japanese, then she'll have a heavy accent when she speaks English too...therefore she'll just become ~BoA~ the second...only with a better voice and music. D:

I feel that for Anecan... it's okay cos women in their late 20s probably have more spending power than say, teenagers or old men anyway. :P

I just can't get over how bad she looks most of the time in Anecan lol.

What avex needs now is to position alan in the most profitable market position. Right now, I would say teenagers and young adults spend the most on CDs/music. Probably that is why her music has been becoming more mainstream pop recently cos her VoE era of songs were really "old-sounding" and probably doesn't seem to hit teenagers much (remember Japanese eat R&B ballads and cutsey bubblegum pop songs).

But at least, even the change of direction for alan is something cool. Swear & Over the clouds :heart

I would hope it could do better. It's one of alan's best singles. =\
