Yeah it was mine too!
I started listening to ayu around forgiveness single-Memorial address but I didn't know anything about physical singles (or barely anything about Japanese music market and even a market in general). lol

MY STORY was great, I wouldn't mind at all if there would be many new songs. The opposite, I would love it.

I'm not expecting/demanding anything though.

It was mine as well. (I started following her like a crazy fan post-& or so...)

However, people here just don't like MY STORY that much. It's a shame really. I blame the sheer length of the album kind of... it's hard for me to get through the entire album in one sitting because of how long it is.

Picaflor 7/4 9th February 2010 10:42 PM

jeeze. I loved my story, I like its length "give or take a song or two". It's definitely one of my top 3 favorite albums right next to rainbow and I am...

Repeating what I said. I want something special for her next album. all her albums have been the same, original mix songs, cd, or cd/dvd. That's it. :/ guilty and mu had a photobook but I'm not a fan of them. woo, more pics of ayu i can look at. that's nice. cause i can't do that already with the standard album booklet.

I demand a repeat of loveppears. it had alot of songs that were mixes and weren't the same as the singles. So even though you did get the same songs as were on the singles, since half the songs were "new this" and "new version that" and "remix this and that" it was almost like a whole new fresh album.

Keep hoping, because I don't think that's going to happen. Not even artists who normally have plenty of goods do that, so I doubt Ayu would do it. I'd be happy with a photobook, since it seems like a photobook was put together to document her trip in London to go along with the CD, and that's enough for me. Good for you that a photobook isn't your cup of tea, but some of us like looking at extra photos of Ayu. Remixing was pretty big around the time of LOVEppears, so I think that's probably why they stuck that remix CD on. [No other album of Ayu's since then has had a remix CD attached to its first press] I think most fans just want an new album (and a new album only) so they can listen to some new tracks, and anything else that comes with it is welcome, but not needed. Never have I heard of fans who weren't appreciative of limited press extras, haha.

If you want crazy album extras, I think you should move onto K-Pop or something, since they need to include tons of different extras to get people to buy their albums.

I suppose though that anyone who expects so much from a new release when they kind of know what the outcome will be is only setting themselves up for disappointment when the album does come around and it doesn't fulfill their expectations.

I'm aware that some people do like MY STORY, but I think the "popular opinion" of AHS/other Western fan circles is that MY STORY = boring.

Totally my opinion! Thanks for this =)

It's simply too easy, just putting the previous singles onto the new album. They have to try new things.

Edit: Eh... who cares what other people think about "MY STORY"? Does it makes a bad single look better, when I say, me and some of my friends like it pretty much? xD

I don't think you understand that for some artists, the singles are created to tell of how the album will sound. (Sort of like a reverse of how American artists do it) In Ayu's case, a lot of it has to do with what she likes at the time when creating singles, so the albums end up very jumbled when it comes to their genres. It's not because it's "EASY" but because they're meant to be part of the album.

Of course, you're allowed to think what you do of certain albums, but that doesn't change the fact that many people did dislike MY STORY then (and now)... sort of like how quite a few fans of Ayu's usual sound did not like NEXT LEVEL. Though I'd have to admit that NEXT LEVEL was very un-Ayuesque.

oh I read that phew I thought I missed something

I didn't like MY STORY until I saw MY STORY Tour idk why
and I would't mind a 17 track album but I can only hope

Ianieee 9th February 2010 11:16 PM

I never thought My Story album was bad at all. I simply loved the songs in that album... One of my favorite songs in that Album is Replace, even now i still love listening to it.. I also thought Ayu did a great job ending her my story concert with that song... It was such a nice way to end the concert... I only wished she had sang it more often...

Many songs such as Carols, Happy Ending, Walking Proud, Winding Road, Humming all great songs to listen to... Although the album is indeed very long... You simple don't notice that if you enjoy the album! xD

Lady_Eowyn 9th February 2010 11:34 PM

i want rock for this new album. good hard rock. and another good ballad. I know this is not going to happen (:rolleyes) but i wish Sunrise/sunset could disappear from ayu's discography because that single seriously sucked.

oh wait... i'm waiting for another (Miss)understood :thud LOL :roflmao

You don't understand how the industry works at ALL, so please stop :yes Think of singles as previews for the album, cause that's what they are in the Japanese industry. Singles are essentially glorified album tracks that are released prior to the album.

omg is that confirmed? I would be extremely happy if that's the case!! :D

Also, Singles aren't just albums "previews", they're also absolutely essential when it comes to album promotion! No one (except the fans of course) would buy an album with ONLY new tracks, right? To keep the general audience (the big buyers) interested, you have to release solid singles to promote the album, so everyone will want it! :)

I don't see a problem with wanting extras. She's an artist, she needs to experiment. Try out new things. not single single single album done move on. I want her to put more of a twist on the things she does. Photobooks are the same as the tons of photoshoots she does. But if we got a poster or hidden tracks or something bonus, it would be something special. It's the little things that make me love an artist more. If she only ever released original mix songs, and cd/dvd albums and nothing more, it would be boring. I like seeing her creative side. I want to see what she can come up with.

primavera♥ 10th February 2010 12:26 AM

oh i cant wait for this album. . .i do wonder though how it will sound. although hoefully not a bunch of happy happy sunrise songs (although i love sunrise) rock would be nice. . .but like a beautiful distinctive rock like some v-kei bands. . .idk. . .it doesnt matter. NL was completely different. many people i guess say its not like ayumi. . .but i see it differently. that since she released it now it is like ayumi ^____^

U-GO-BOY 10th February 2010 12:28 AM

she released NEXT LEVEL on an usb-stick... that was something special for me

Crystal_Ageha 10th February 2010 12:50 AM

I don't want another USB..... My income can't handle it, lol.

ayumisrael 10th February 2010 12:57 AM

Yeah, the USB was great for NEXT LEVEL, but I hope that there won't be more USBs soon, lol.
I could afford just one version and I prefered to have the live album (which was pretty awesome!) over the USB, and the USB was really expensive as well. So yeah, just give 3 versions tops with 2 DVDs or something with a nice first press and I'll be satisfied with that. =P

aura~ 10th February 2010 01:06 AM

Mmm I would want a nice special sleepcase ^^ with a old box kind of feeling.... and a big photobook from London, with pics of us who where there *-* IT would be nice to have a "makign of the album" also show fans in London ^^ well maybe they will put it on a making of a new PV...

Listen: I am not a salesman from asian music mafia, and I dont give a ******* what these companies are used to do for selling their cds. I really don't get the problem, why they couldn't release an album the way I described it. It's not like that they can't, its more a thing of "they don't WANT" ;P

Its pretty possible to try new things and if they'd intend to bring out a new album another way, thye'd do so. Is "japanese music industry" a living being? Does it has own thoughts? You speak of it as if its a written rule how albums in Japan have to be released. I really dont get it. Must be some mysterious secret.

In the end, they can make the albums just like they want them to be, they won't see any buck from me anyway (as long as they are doing poor work) and I know, its not Ayus fault.

I still won't accept a new album, thats actually more like "half-new" with several interludes and a hand full of new songs.

Then you must not accept ANY ayu album.
Or any jpop album, for that matter...

AyUta 10th February 2010 02:04 AM

I'm really itching for this album info too :headache
