Is it really too soon for A BEST 3?

We've got Secret, Guilty, Next Level and Love songs. Seems plenty to me for a 1-disc Best. If she wants to make it a double release like A BEST 2 again, yeah best wait a little bit.

Thought I would be perfectly happy with A BEST 3 [2CD], Disc 1 = A BEST 3, Disc 2 = Ayu-trance 4 (and first press limited disc 3 = ayu-ro-nevergonnahappenbutIcanalwayskeepwishingmix)

Not enough real hits though...I don't think avex should cheapen the brand of A BEST till they have enough songs to be selective with. A BEST 2 had M, Dearest, Voyage, No Way To Say, etc...what real hits will A BEST 3 have other than maybe BLUE BIRD?

Well, the first A BEST was a rush job that didn't have a lot of big hits on it either and A BEST's tend to have album tracks but I do think it's too early for one. She may have had 5 albums since the last one but it's still only been 4 years. Imo, the 6 year gap between the first and second one was perfect because the first one was completely out of people's minds by then. AB2 needs more age on it if they want AB3 to do well and a couple of more years should do the job.

If anything, it'd be a good time for a second A BALLADs. She's had HANABI ~episode II~, Heaven, No way to say, Days, CAROLS, walking proud, JEWEL, Secret, Together When... and a bunch of others since the last one.

Excuse me? It had A Song for XX (the song which solely made her first album sell), SEASONS, M, LOVE: Destiny, Boys & Girls, the songs from A, SURREAL. Those are still some of her biggest hits, in fact those are her biggest hits.

It IS half true. It was rushed, but there were a lot of big hits on it. I think Ranma just had...half a brainfart maybe :laugh

I wish November will be tranced up on this ayutrance 4 album!! CMJK blogged about how the demo for November intended it to be a trance song lol! Exciting!! :D

That's funny, when Love Songs first came out, I thought November had kind of a "trancey" feel with the melody, like it could fit well as a trance song.

off topic: about the a best 3,i don't think that we will have one this year,i'm sure that a best 3 will come on her 15th anniversary,in 2014,we only must wait 2 years more,and maybe in these 2 year the sales will be better than now and ayu can sell more than a million of this best *O*

a best - 3 albums/1 disk
a best 2 - 4 albums+1 mini album/2 disks

now we have 5 albums- that's more material than a best could cover. AND that's already 2 disks if not more

What about "A Complete: All Singles"? That's kind of a Best Of album too. And it had all the (A-)Singles included till "GUILTY". So in the end we just got 3 albums left, including "Love songs" for a new A BEST. And that's not enough.

Anyway. They should release a 2-CD-Trance Remix Album.

^Not going to happen. This is going to be a trance album, not an "A BEST" album. Unless they make some type of weird "SURREAL~evolution~SURREAL" trance remix. Besides, they wouldn't go that far back, the farthest back they'll go is Memorial address. The last trance album ended with RAINBOW.

What does this mean? (I am now going through the tweets) for the trance album they are going to use acapella's they already have? Don't they have the vocal tracks to every song of hers?

Why Do people want Best of albums so badly?? I dont understand you? you already have all he songs, you could just take all your faves and make a best of album your self, there just full of songs that were already released that everyone has. I'm so confused over the hype of Best of albums :thud

I agree. I don't know why Best albums appeal to anyone except casual fans who might not have the songs already. :shrug

Umm...best albums and singles collections usually DO NOT have new stuff. What, 1 song, MAYBE?

^with a hidden bonus track at the end of a song that's already been released on an album. don't forget that.

and the songs are sometimes remastered (even if you can't hear it that much xD)

The only time a best album makes sense is if it's like BUCK-TICK's "This is NOT Greatest Hits." IMO, anything other than* how that best of album was made is completely pointless.

I say this and I have "A COMPLETE" sitting on my shelf lol. But that's only because I never bought any of Ayu's singles and it seemed like a sensible purchase.

Yea I really agree with that, or if like Ayu made a best of album but it was like she re-sang all the songs like the 10th anniversary versions. I would buy that so quick. Other then that I never see the point of artist releasing so many best of albums, I dont think its about people liking new stuff it seems like they just want to spend more money on there fave artist (then mention about how there killing there wallets while doing so)

Yup. It's either that or it's just a quick and easy cash cow. Best ofs come from singles, singles sell. Ergo, a best of made of singles = money. That way they don't have to "risk it" when it comes to a studio album made of material that people might not like. The odd thing here is that this goes by the assumption that only singles are good tracks, which isn't usually the case. /shrug

The only OTHER time I can see a best of album being necessary is when it's themed, or rearranged in an interesting way... that way you get the same songs, technically, but not entirely the same that they don't offer appeal for those who already have the originals. But what do I know, heh.
