I dunno what would seem different. Short PVs?? The theme?

Today, of course, would be even nicer ! :yes
I don't know, it may come from me, but I've had the impression that nothing happened the same way as for the previous albums !

IMO if she'd like to than she would do it already.

Bad comparison. Koda Kumi is supporting by singing covers since some time (Can We Go Back, Physical thing). Her cover albus is weak and they released it ONLY because they have to "celebrate" her 10th anniversary somehow but they couldn't release another BEST compilation because they already did it (at the beginning of this year).

If they make covers they aren't artists but trying just earn on fans of succesful performers who did those songs originally.

There is a difference between basing your whole career on covers and recording one cover album after you've already had 10+ studio albums of your own and sold millions of cds? Also Can We Go Back and Physical Thing could hardly be labeled as covers, because they were most likely bought from their producers at the same time/even before the "originals" were recorded the same way Tohoshinki and Sarah Connor bought the rights to "Under your skin". It's really a common thing in the music industry. Besides random European singers are hardly popular anywhere else but in their respective countries, so you could hardly say she is trying to appeal to their fans, when they actually don't have any fans in Japan. Now it's different when you're covering older Japanese songs, especially when they are so old that the people who used to listen to them will still hardly care about you. So no matter how you look at it, your story doesn't hold water. Especially that only a selected few artists like Ken Hirai, JUJU and Hitomi Shimatani had success with covers, some were either very popular even before and some were forgotten quickly, while both Ayu and Ku are famous for their own songs, no one is going to look down on them because they've made a cover album.

I don't wanna waste all of my efforts to resist to previews and short versions, now :laugh.
Although it's incredibily hard, it's quite funny to wait for the release lol.

jbrat2219 13th December 2010 10:46 PM

^ Same here! I'm largely holding out on all of the previews just to see if I can though LOL.

roanmy 13th December 2010 11:41 PM

Cool short edits, but they're such teasers!

Also, Ayu's face looks kinda scary when she looks directly at the camera in Last angel's PV, lol.

I have a lot to study right NOW. Shows you what my priorities really are. I'm gonna be up all night again. :rolleyes

By the way, Michan, I love the coloring/background effects on your avatar & sig. I think the actual covers would look so much better that way. :heart

JackieRos 14th December 2010 01:07 AM

so many previews I need them full >.<
geeeeesus!

Pieces_of_SEVEN 14th December 2010 01:34 AM

I feel like the kumi fans are defending ayu doing a cover album because kumi did one.

anyway...the PVs are OK. I hold such contempt for Avex anymore and their stupid marketing tactics.

Kumi did not invent cover albums. They have been around for years, and not all of them are "fail" nor do they take any credit or artistry away from the artist themselves. No one has to "defend" Ayu doing a cover album.

E for effort though! :love
