is that good? that's 500,000 less than pf.

matt9210 30th April 2011 01:54 AM

PF sold 330,742 copies in its first week. This has another 4 days of sales left til we find out the first week sales. It's a best of album, but I think a lot of the collaborations weren't known by many people before this album, unlike BEST FICTION's songs which people would know the singles (I hope I'm making sense here ^^; ).

So I think this is selling amazingly!

U should look at 2011 Oricon Yearly Chart and see the whole picture, Checkmate! on it 3rd days has already stood on top 15, so this is amazing enough.

Wow great sales! Especially since it's just a collaboration album

translations for #1 + Wonder Woman are up on my LJ, if anyone's interested~

Bigtop 30th April 2011 08:11 AM

Yeah, that's not usual. Usually it's studio and "best-of" compilations, but a collab? Nothing in the top 12 I see it. And maybe Yamapi's involvement might have helped her a bit? After all, she's not too old still to be a singer...

Corvina 30th April 2011 10:22 AM

Awesome sales!
Namie still is the number one female artist, also for this year.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 30th April 2011 01:53 PM

good tactic of her (company) putting all these randoms in her album :) well deserved sales i guess lol

Rocky Raven 30th April 2011 03:46 PM

Checkmate! 93,168 + 48,489 + 31,280 + 26,503 = 199,440 <3 Almost 200k!!!

JackieRos 30th April 2011 04:19 PM

amazing sales!

Maemi 30th April 2011 04:38 PM

wow, awesome! really awesome for a collaboration album!

kayokyokufan 30th April 2011 04:57 PM

Awesome! I was hoping it would break 200k and it looks like that's gonna happen.

bondingo 30th April 2011 05:36 PM

Anyone who's comparing the sales to P<F, don't. They're completely different kinds of albums. Not only is Checkmate! more of a compilation album, it's not even close to being a typical "best of". All things considered, the sales are incredible. It really just goes to show that Namie is the top female artist in Japan (yeah I said that on an Ayu board).

AyUta 30th April 2011 05:45 PM

Wow, go namie o_o

JackieRos 1st May 2011 02:14 AM

both compilations

SunshineSlayer 1st May 2011 03:36 AM

Sales really are excellent. Collaboration albums usually don't do very well and then add into that a release date change and interrupted promotion, it's doing amazing.
