I keep being surprised by some of you people. Sure one expects loads of dumb comments by several members on here. But seeing people worried she went to the Middle East because of various prejudice and people having issues with her husband for various reasons makes one wonder. And this was kinda racist btw.

Considering some of Ayu's previous works, Lady Dynamite comes to mind, I can't see Super Mannie being that offensive, especially to the point where she divorces him.

Also, having her staff as her main group of friends makes sense. She can't make friends these days, the average person would see Ayu the singer and the relationship would be strange. She probably has non staff friends, but she probably spends more time with her staff.

I must agree with the comments other people made before. It is a bit ignorant to think the way you do, but back then, when I saw a certain picture of Ayu and Shuya, I was like... "That's it!".

I know, Shuya is said to be gay or it even has been confirmed (I don't care for sexual preferences of strangers, so I am clueless about his orientation) but I always thought they would make a perfect couple :luv2

He's a model also not very known, so you have to do anything at the beginning. Even funny photoshoots lol.

and Super Ayu was a surprise gift for Ayu, very doubtful she did a photo shoot like that or any for a surprise for herself. I'm sure Leslie just compiled all their past works, since the cover was from the Five shoot.

And to whoever asked what Japanese men have over other men...the advantage of being Japanese lol Which would be important in a place like Japan.

I dont think the photobook broke them up....why would it lol I was treating that rumor as a joke. Thought everyone else was too.

tbh I think Mannie is dating someone else already. I feel like this divorce was a long time coming...even if it was genuine and perfect at the beginning. Why they announced it now....lol

The more photos I see of Mannie, and especially in Super Manuel - I realise why I never found him attractive.

He looks like Rasputin. :/ I just looked at a photo and my brain went... "why is Ayu with Raspu--oh no".

Obviously I've been studying too hard.

Like most people on here, I 'expected' that ayu's marriage wouldn't last long. When I saw that Mannie photobook, I was left shocked and said something along the lines of 'It's kinda trashy for Mannie to release such a book (even if it's limited). It's vulgar in my opinion and the husband of Asia's empress of pop shouldn't publicize himself like that.'

Since I saw that book my whole opinion about Mannie changed. At first when they married I was like 'What??!', then midway I really liked them together (even though they weren't together), and after the photobook: "Is he ayu's husband?''.

I know that as a model you need to be able to fullfill your clients 'wills' but both he and Leslie did a terrible job on it. The man looked really awkward in all of the pictures.

I actually think that the photobook plays a role in this too (not an significant role or something). But that's just my speculation about this all.

edit To give it some more thought, I'm doubting this 'speculation' very much. lol

I think the book may have played a role in her finally ending it for the rest of the world to see. But with the info that is now out by mainstream news that the tabloids already published in July, in Japan atleast, it was over before it began if she never registered and never planned to. Even the argument that she may have tried for US citizenship doesnt hold up, that takes alot of time and Japan only gives 90 days to register. Plus her career would have kept her in Japan more often than not with her touring and CDL. The recording could all be done in LA but not the tour.

True, but this issue is a lot more sensitive in Japan than in the western world. You have to think about Ayu's image, which is mature and sophisticated. Everything Mannie does in public will have an effect on an image she's worked very hard for.

Something like this could have potentially cost her fans.

I'm not surprised about the divorce...I had a feeling when ayu chose to do her recordings in London for a month instead of US. As to the real reason behind the divorce, I think its a bit of everything. Long distance relationship is hard. Especially if you barely known that person that long before marriage and after that barely seeing each other. It doesnt help that there's somewhat a language barrier. She probably also doesnt like the fact that he released the photobook too...but I dont think its the main reason...it just didnt help.

btw...not bashing Manuel or anything but those photobook pics are embarrassing. They're so tasteless and his facial expressions were not sexy at all. I hope ayu will still continue to work with leslie kee despite of this photobook coz I love all the work he's done with ayu.
