And then compare his work to Ayu's classics or the other tracks on Party Queen. The gap in skill and ear for melody is HUGE. Astronomical. BRILLANTE is a great track but far from Ayu's best and stuck out on FIVE because the other tracks weren't anything special. But that's about it for him. HBYA is great as well but it's hardly original - just another piano ballad that Ayu is so famous for making.

He is an ametuer composer and the results show. Also don't downplay the role of the arranger and instrumentalists. If I suspect correctly, they did a great job making something of his limited experience. Just because he is the "composer" does not make him the mastermind of any track his name has had the misfortune of being slapped on.

Is composing/producing music like... his career? I can't tell what he is supposed to be.

+ For me Timmy has a lot to prove as a composer. I only like 2 of his songs,the next LOVE and BRILLANTE. But they're very mediocore compared to her other songs. I'm not even sure can he compose songs to her voice. (The biggest challenge to a singer is to sing songs which are suitable to your voice.) comparing HBYA/PQ/E,s,m to RR and other vocals in the album.

I asked Timmy awhile a go how they met and he told me it was through a mutual friend. I think he is wonderful guy and incredibly talented. He's very charming too haha.

...anyway, isn't how well he can compose subjective? just like beauty and certain other things in life? I feel like it would take an exceptionally horrible track for him to be considered "bad" at composing in the music community.

Well every review and opinion about music is naturally subjective. I don't state my opinions as the truth. And it's great that everyone has their opinion, but for me Timmy has much to prove.

LOL i see I knew there had to be a reason haha Anywho on the first day of HOTEL Love Songs during the MC Ayu introduced Timmy and it was really touching. Timmy has been trying to make it in the business for 10 years and this is his break. I don't think Ayu will stick with him long (he may continue to compose and such) but she changes with every album. She is starting his career and introducing him to the world which is a great gesture on her part.

I think there are some people who seriously don't realize this though, and that's just...weird. lol
