Hi. I'm new at the forum (years of reading but without an account). I really like "BYE BYE"! It's catchy and funny. I feel a 2000s vibe but with a modern touch. As other users said here, I also love the contrast between the dark video and the cheerful song, and also the choreo (I think It's perfect to go viral on Tik-tok or Insta). For me it has more spirit than Mask, Summer Again and Nonfiction (despite how much i love this one). Also i saw the song charting on 8 countries! (Itunes via Kworb).

At the end of the day, this feels so weird to me. With streaming it's almost impossible for someone to buy a digital song, especially young people I think.

lol I know it's not that serious but Hikki's SCIENCE FICTION sold 100k in a day. let's be honest, ayu is still a legend, but Hikki is in another league celebrity-wise, at least nowadays. ayu is doing well still.

I guess the horror-esque look is intentional and I do think it's fitting, as it is what creates the juxtaposition (something ayu is known for to begin with).

i saw that and yeah, it's crazy, namie also used to sell like that on her last days, but we can't ignore the fact that it's a best album we're talking about.. hikki's last studio album sold around 90k on its debut week (still a huge number considering a solo act in japan nowadays - but far from selling 100k in just one day)
