MellowB, I love you so much right now!

jimex289 16th January 2009 03:31 AM

Thanks for this translation. I watched it for the first last night...it really broke my heart. I can no longer watch Dome Tour 2001 in the same way now. It used to be my favorite concert from her...but I simply cannot enjoy it knowing the pain she went through to put on such a great show.

jbrat2219 16th January 2009 03:39 AM

^ Did you just bring a thread back from the dead xD; lol

Andali 16th January 2009 04:24 AM

oh my gosh, I had no idea. Poor Ayu, she is so strong, such a role model, so human.

Polyrhythm 16th January 2009 05:03 AM

Where is the file for this video anyway?

Batera 16th January 2009 12:53 PM

Omg! I watched it last week, and I realized how much Ayu had to be strong to make her decisions that time.
But it's awesome how she has always given her life for her fans!
Love her!

What's wrong with bringing back a dead thread o_0? If anything I'm limiting the redundancy on this board by not needlessly making a new one when there already exists one for the topic in question. There are no rules against bringing back an old thread...that makes no sense to me otherwise this thread would have been deleted when it was deemed "dead" and someone would be given a chance to start a new one. I'd imagine making a duplicate thread topic would get on some people's nerves though...it's not like I couldn't find this one either or had to use the dreaded search. The link was provided. Maybe it was good to revive it because it seems some people don't even know about this. That's the beauty of being on this board...you learn a lot of things about her.

Anyway, sorry for being so slow on commenting XD. This really did bring a few tears to my eyes though. I had absolutely no idea of the pain she went through...well I did have an idea with A BEST and Dome Tour 2001, but seeing it all unfold on a camera really had a deep impact on me. Seeing her get mad at her staff was also another side of her I think we rarely see; that or it's rarely shown. Her outer appearance really seems to belie many things.

The DVD for Dome Tour 2001 was filmed on July 6th according to a site; she injured herself on the June 22nd in her first show at Fukuoka and the doctor told her it would three weeks to heal...that tells me she was still in a lot of pain in that DVD and I didn't notice a single thing; I watched this prior to knowing she injured herself real bad. She acted as if nothing was wrong...I think that takes a lot of willpower and resilience. She was running around like crazy at the end thanking all of her fans too.

I think this interview is really crucial for those who want to know the history of her ear problem...it can all be blamed on her recording company. It was her choice to choose to go along with the shows (she probably would have been forced to anyway) but avex should have never put her through the amount of work in the following year (2002). She put on some 60 shows; that definitely exacerbated the condition of her left ear. All of this ultimately led up or contributed to her losing her hearing...there are all these "what ifs". What if she had an easier 2002, or what if she didn't go ahead with DT01 even though plans for it were already in full swing. As long as she's the type who doesn't regret anything she's done, I can be happy for her. It was also quite inspiring to see her confront a difficult part of her life and give it a definitive closure, coming to terms with it.

:laugh

certain others have been bumping up A LOT of old threads recently.

So it's been annoying.

This however...maybe...yeah new thread in chat lol So others could say what they wanted...instead of having to dig through pages lol

But don't worry about it lol.

rakeru 16th January 2009 09:30 PM

it's really interesting to hear her talk about the first time she lost her hearing. it's so sad... she's such a fighter, holding on and performing.

a_kingdom21 17th January 2009 09:19 AM
