Namie Amuro - PRIVATE

OMG. LOVE THIS SONG SFM. It is beautiful. It has that classic Tetsuya Komuro production which just makes it beautiful. I JUST LOVE THIS SONG.

5/5

Secret - 자리비움 (Leave Space Empty) ~thanks to cloud_honey for uploading~

Wow, that song totally surprised me. I'm usually not into korean pop music, I found most of it rather annoying to be truthful.

The vocals were outstanding, the arrangment simple and gentle, but very touching. Only complaint is that it's too short. I think I'm keeping this in my itunes. 4/5.

Once again, it's a shame this is posted in the asian music section, it's really a limitation :( Oh well!

月明かりの下で - Me-al art

月明かりの下で - Me-al art
wow the instrumental at the beginning is gorgeous :heart really soft and soothing
after that it becomes more rockish which is LOVE :luv2
just her voice i kinda have a problem with, i love the first scream but the rest.. i dont know.. not really my style i guess? the song is pretty cool though
3.5/5

next up~
DBSK - Athena (i was obsessed with this song when it first came out XD)

y_nathz 18th March 2011 03:02 PM

I never write a review but I want to try!

I was obsessed with Athena too back then :laugh
The intro give you a ~mysterious~ feel, in a -detective movies- way *oh crap my language* and then the reff when both members sing together is the best part of the song :yes the part when changmin hits the high note is :heart
not our everyday electro-dancey kpop for sure, but idk if it's only me, I found it a bit repetitive but I got used with repetitive kpop anyway :laugh
4/5 ;)

DIA - Cry Cry

you know.. I always feel like I'm the only DIA fan here so I'm just curious..

people who don't follow kpop always think it's annoying coz the songs that got promoted are mostly on that certain genre, but awesome k-ballads, k-rock, k-indie and other genres do exists xD

ikr, people have to dig more to see the treasures in Korean music :yes
If you want energetic dances, the mainstream is good.
bBt when you're looking for rock or beautiful ballads, try the indies or album filler tracks. They usually have nice ballads inside the album, despite the mainstream-styled promotional tracks. Like "ROMANTIC" by SHINee, Girls' Generation "Mistake", Yesung "It Has To Be You", etc

Dia - 울어도 울어도 (Cry Cry) 4/5

A pleasant ballad indeed. She has a soft voice but could produce powerful vocal for the chorus. I love it, soft and touching :)

Now I'll give you guys one of the great K-indie musicians, I'm listening. His name is Cha Seojong and he works under the name Epitone Project. He produces ballads, bossa nova, acoustic and instrumental tracks on his albums, he also loves photography so he put some of his snaps on the album booklet. They are beautiful :heart kinda draw the visual aspect of his albums.

Epitone Project - Cactus (Vocal by Cha Seojong)

^ It starts off really calmly and it made me relax~ :tipsy I don't really listen to male asian artists - I don't know why, I just never have been introduced to any, except by my Chinese friend who loves Jay Chou lol

But yeah, his voice is really nice and soft :heart The song is a cool RnB feel ballad to me, nothing amazingly impressive but is a sweet little song.

Okay, I'm introducing the eighteen year old K-Pop singer, IU. This song and music video made me fall in love with her :heart

You already know that I really like that song Jess :heart It's a 4/4 for me. 4/5 for the PV.

There's something magical, very pretty and Disney-like about the arrangement and the instruments and the story of the PV. And omg, the dancing :heart

My current japanese indie-rock, shoegaze and post-punk (phew!) obsession atm, MotFD or MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS. I am absolutely head over heels in love with their music. It's furious, speedy, completely impossible to sit still to and just gets better with every listen.

Not something everyone will fall in love with, but I want to introduce them nonetheless.
