too lazy to go back and officially quote---
I read someone said the first two seconds that it sounds like ayu's version. I totally disagree. its how they end each verse.
I also read someone say that the chinese version is a lot faster. They're practically the same BPM.

And whoever said that the chinese version sounds better than ayu (you know who you are)
we'll just pretend you didnt say that

we will pretend that you didn't say anything.
Except for the first 2 seconds nothing is going the same way.

ayu didn't copy (she didn't even compose it most likely) even if it would be the same composition.

Don't worry my friend, at the end we will discover it's not a cover :rolleyes

People as always assume that ayu copies too quick (and even if at the end it's the same composition it's not like she composed it) and the lyrics are her own lyrics that she wrote so it's not even a cover if the composition even would be the same except for 2 mere seconds.

It's not the first time that people assume such a thing anyway =P

^I know it's eight sequential beats till it's a copy in America, not sure what Japan's standards are though =/... So if the only real likeness is the last notes of the chorus, it's not a copy.

wow I didn't know that

^I learned that when I was reading up on the musical WICKED, they couldn't get permission to sample "Somewhere over the rainbow", so they used seven of the beats to avoid trouble. I'd assume the number of beats is similar in other places in the world, but I can't be sure =/ So it can't be called a copy if it's only similar for a few beats.

I don't understand how people could even begin to consider it as a cover. It's not the same song, at all. There are a billion songs out there that sound vaguely similar to each other, and that does not mean they're copied or covered.

Exactly.
I doubt that there are more than like 3-4 notes that are the same.
People just need to hear it fully, wait for credits and the full songs and wait instead of jumping to conclusions.

Or do they just like to say that ayu copied =P

this is getting kinda annoying...there's 2 threads from the news section that just got moved...is this really that big of a deal? plus we only got 30sec of the song to compare. Wait till we get the whole song ppl!

milky_way 23rd August 2008 04:39 AM

Who cares? It's just a preview guys :|

To reemphasize, Ayu's Will when it was first released totally felt like it was from the Kiki's Delivery Service BGM.. but the full song was like NOTHING like it.

Fans + songs that sounds similarish = fans with panties in bunch for no reason.

I realy like the song!!!
thanks I was looking for it~<3

I like the idea of a internatonal cover...
I think that way she will get more fans *-*

Well, i guess we all have our opinions... :) haha...

But personally, i feel that Chen ming zhen version is so-so only, from a neutral point of view..... I've heard many chinese singers voice and i feel her singing style is somewhat very typical and bear close resemblance to many singers out there in the industry....

well, it isn't bad, but she made the song sounded very chee-na.. (ok, i noe it's long ago, No offence)..

Ayu's version, on the other hand (Judging from the preview :)) sounded more emotional and carefree.. :) (okay, maybe i shall wait for the full version)

well, it's 100% not a cover song..... :)

That's a really good example to describe the relationship b/w GREEN and the chinese song. Similar, but all in all nothing alike.

criminal 24th August 2008 12:52 PM

I hope that when the credits come out, the composer will be the one who did the Jane Chen song. [OR it could be tasuku again! :O :O :O]
That Chinese song sounds really cool and so does GREEN.

I love how a topic like this brings out the inner mite in some people. <3 Big deal.

GRACE 24th August 2008 12:58 PM

^Or it's not a cover :3

panda87 24th August 2008 04:42 PM

it's just like that O-town song "All or Nothing" was JUST LIKE that Backstreet Boy's song but O-town's was written before and had nothing to do with Backstreet's song. plus, the note/melodies were different overall.

and the only similarity is the first part of each line. it's not an exact same melody arrangement, so i don't believe it's a cover or copy or w/e you guys say it to be. and let's wait till Ayu's full song comes out before we really make full judgments and claims. in other words, stop bull*****ing.
