Why? :(
Someone already said it, that albums like LOVEppears showed, that its possible to make an album look all new and surprising, if previous released songs are at least remixed / edited. A song for XX had just one interlude (Prologue) if I remember well etc. MY STORY was also outstanding.

Ayu is an exception for me, because many of her albums were simply outstanding. Ayu simply worth it to listen to pop music.

truehappiness, I have to really wonder where you're getting the idea that the AHS forum as a whole didn't and doesn't like MY STORY. Every poll/thread I've found in the search engine regarding MY STORY has returned VERY positive results.

http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showth...ighlight=album
http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showth...ighlight=album
http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91028
http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=92625
http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/poll.p...ts&pollid=1018

Even in your own thread that you started back then nearly everyone said they loved it:
http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showth...ighlight=STORY

Why are you thinking people don't like it? I don't think I've ever thought the majority opinion was that people didn't like it, and I was around during that time (it was when I first joined and was lurking like crazy). :shrug

And I really don't wish anything for this album other than that there aren't 4 interludes again. Really, it's just too many and chops up an album. m(u) had 2, and I thought it worked very well. :yes

I need more Ayu rock songs. :yes

I'll flipped if her next album is going to be like Duty/Guilty

Those two albums are IMO, masterpiece.

As for My Story, that is also very good album too.

Well, I'm trying not to anticipate this album very much because her last albums were so-so. :shakehead

It would be great if she could come with a consistent album with it's own atmosphere, but with Sunrise/You were.../BALLAD/Red line, I guess it's impossible.

And I DO NOT want to see Sunset anywhere! I'm confident it won't make it. A possible clue: there is no Sunset making off (how boring it would be, S/S PVs are already making offs :rolleyes).

Its pretty possible to try new things and if they'd intend to bring out a new album another way, thye'd do so. Is "japanese music industry" a living being? Does it has own thoughts? You speak of it as if its a written rule how albums in Japan have to be released. I really dont get it. Must be some mysterious secret.

In the end, they can make the albums just like they want them to be, they won't see any buck from me anyway (as long as they are doing poor work) and I know, its not Ayus fault.

I still won't accept a new album, thats actually more like "half-new" with several interludes and a hand full of new songs.

Calm down. Lol. It's just highly, highly unlikely (pretty much near impossible) for Ayu or any Japanese artist to put out a completely new album with no prior single tracks included in the release. It just doesn't work. But I feel like you were taking it as an attack when it was not meant to be one.

Okay I've tried to be nice. Singles are meant to promote the album, so OF COURSE THEY'RE GOING TO BE ON THE ALBUM. In America, a lead single is released a few months prior to the album. It's the same concept, these singles promote the album. They give a taste of what the album is to come, they're intended for the album. They're album tracks released before the album, so of course they're going to be on the album. This is the way it works, this is the way it works for this industry, it's what sells CDs and makes the labels and the artists money.

I want her to put more of a twist on the things she does. Photobooks are the same as the tons of photoshoots she does. But if we got a poster or hidden tracks or something bonus, it would be something special. It's the little things that make me love an artist more. If she only ever released original mix songs, and cd/dvd albums and nothing more, it would be boring. I like seeing her creative side. I want to see what she can come up with.

Isn't the music enough anymore? :laugh

I honestly couldn't care less about extras. If they're there, GREAT! But if not, don't care. And it's not like Ayu hasn't tried something different. Those NEXT LEVEL USBs sold faster than water in a desert in the middle of July. And in the past we've gotten bonus tracks as often as we've gotten photobooks so it looks like she has been mixing things up a little bit lately :yes. And I have a Secret poster so I know she's done that before lol. I'm not sure what else you want her to do? Cut off her hair like Gaga to sell an album? Oh wait... hasn't she done that?

Gift to fan club members after she got a haircut.

And with GaGa that was from her wigs... I think Ayu's hair was the real deal....

Yikes.

I suppose it might have been the handful of fans who left post-MY STORY and probably don't post here anymore, actually. I also remember people not really loving the album when it first came out, and the same happened with Secret... (though a mass exodus did not happen after Secret, just a lot of complaints of the album being rushed and people hating it and etc... it also appears that people hated (miss)understood in the same way at first, haha.)

I would say that many fans who lost faith in Ayu that once posted at AHS, left after MY STORY's release, after all you do not see many active fans around here who joined before 2005.

You are probably right. I just have to accept it. Well... this is what makes me disliking music industry. They tell the artist how to release their work. I dont like that...

But its like this, and it won't change in a while, neither.

Btw: I didnt mean to be rude to anybody, I just overdo it sometimes :innocent

Bye

ew are you serious? thats disgusting. I'm sure whoever won it worships it every night. *shivers*

You know, if its get her hair or get nothing special for an album, I'll go with nothing. >>

That's not at all what's being done. That's how artists release their music in Japan. Even the ones who have complete free reign [arguably, Ayu and Hikki... anyone?] do the singles -> album thing...

There's a photo of it on the forum, I think.
