I always tear up when I read/hear about these kind of stories, and this was no different. I have a puppy too, I couldn't imagine how I'd be if something happened to him. I feel bad for both Ayu and Maron :( At least she's resting comfortably at home..

it's because, in the video, Marron is Marron-chan and Musshu (ムッシュ, Takako Matsu's one) is Musshu-kun.

Ayu asked Ms. Matsu if Musshu is Musshu-kun or Musshu-chan in this video. So I belive they made it a rule to add -kun (君) to a boy and -chan (ちゃん) to a girl.

Yeah, I can never tell if Marron is male or female... And when ayu first got it, she spelt its name as Malon (Vivi Deji Deji Diary vol.20), so not very sure what's the correct spelling either :shrug

Malon? Maybe she wasn't sure how to spell it at the time?

Yep, I think both things Misa-chan and Truehappiness says are right.
We can just pick up the spelling which ayu uses most often and recently, imo.

I'm really upset after reading that I love animals so much. I just can't imagine how devastated Ayu must feel.
