yay!!! ;D

Bigtop 12th April 2011 02:38 AM

Is there any official report from Oricon?

EDIT #1:
Here it is: 現役大学生miwa、平成生まれのソロ歌手初の1stアルバム首位 (miwa) ニュース-ORICON STYLE- - http://www.oricon.co.jp/news/rankmusic/86509/full/

EDIT #2:
I've been hearing from mellody that, as I predicted, she made history. But it was something that I did not even expect.

miwa was once again born on June 15, 1990, but there was something interesting that regards to miwa and the Heisei era: in the history of the Oricon, miwa became the first-ever soloist born out of the Heisei era - any gender - on a debut album.

Now this is something that is really quite historic. Not only she joins the greats such as Ayu, Mika Nakashima and ayaka on getting a #1 on their debut album, but she becomes the first ever Heisei-era-born soloist to get a #1 on it.

NOTE: ayaka was born on 1987; the Heisei era started in 1989.

mellody 12th April 2011 03:02 AM

miwa is the first singer-songwriter got no 1 position on first album, plus the first one for someone got #1 which born in heisei era. (1989-current)

miwa sets another record in Japan, it seems.
People admire her as a hard-working person, because she's studying in college, recording songs, doing some live performances and concerts, also become a radio host, isn't that amazing for a 20 old-year girl doing lots of things like that?

I just hope she don't overdo it, keep yourself healthy girl.

EDITED:
Like I said before about rank and sales, Japan cares about rank more than sales.
Look at the bottom part of the article.
Quote:

Until now, miwa's best accomplishment was 8th place with her third single chAngE last year in September.
chAngE, charting for 7 weeks with total sales 20,165 copies overall, but the weekly rank is #8.
don't cry anymore, charting for 10 weeks with total sales 22,646 copies overall, but the weekly rank is #11.
The rest of her singles are below chAngE and don't cry anymore so I didn't include it here.

Okay, I need some help - I already set up a guitarissimo English Wikipedia article, and right now it is in "baby" phases. I need some help adding on these topics:
  • expanded album information overview
  • theme of album information
  • updated charts run
  • significant achievements (including the record that is mentioned above)
  • RELIABLE REFERENCES!!! (Wikipedia policy says that; Oricon is a reliable reference because they're the Japanese chart company itself)

Here's the link to the article:

nanakopy87 12th April 2011 06:10 AM

i would rather go to generasia aka jpopstop wiki than wikipedia for info about japanese releases

OogoeDiamond 12th April 2011 09:38 PM

^ yes xD It wasnt first day but still xDD

OogoeDiamond 12th April 2011 09:42 PM

maybe you will be mad at me but in my opiniion album (as well as most miwa bisides) is boring It think it kind of problem of singer song writes with guitar (some of Yui singles , Stereopony , Scandal) Great Image , Great A sides , few great bides / album songs and the rest is BOOORING like hell and sounds the same....

edit : Sorry for double

adantatu2 12th April 2011 10:27 PM

i was right yay!!!
40k the first week (i'm the fortune taller XD)
and dear HTMSD, the sales of today
Quote:

Position: #2
Sales: 1,763
are for the first day of the second week, so
40,164 + 1,763 = 41,927

the sales of the first week always are a little above the total sales
and about the album, i love Arienai !!, hys-, Samenai Yume and Tsuyoku Naritai !!!!
the other songs are not bad, but aren't boring for me

mellody 13th April 2011 01:45 AM

To be honest I don't think guitarissimo is a perfect album.
Songs like Friend, Dear days, and Samenai Yume has too much similarity in many way IMO.
Also, probably no one cares about this, the flow of the album is kinda weird.

The transition between hys- to Otoshimono is drastically changes.
It's the same as chAngE to megurogawa <strings version> the mood changes all of a sudden.

miwa doesn't have any ballad songs that really appealing to me. (Before the album released, I think amayadori is the only ballad song I could enjoyed a lot)
But there's Tsuyoku Naritai here, plus it has a supportive lyrics. (Probably she has only 2 songs with supportive lyrics so far, this song and don't cry anymore not sure about chAngE)

Anyway, despite all of that problems I mentioned before, I enjoyed this album a lot.
At first listen, I didn't enjoy the album that much, but after a few listen, it's quickly growing in me.
Songs like arienai!!, hys-, hatsunatsu, Bokura no Mirai, and especially Tsuyoku Naritai feels like a fresh air.
Songs I didn't enjoy a lot before like Little girl, Otoshimono, and Haru ni Nattara, quickly growing in me after listening to the whole album.

Overall, this is a great album, but it's not a perfect album from every aspect that it has.
Because of that, I'm looking forward to her next release, hopefully she can pull another great and catchy songs. (Where she can use either guitar or piano as a main instrument)
Just wait until she release a song with a piano-based instrument. ;)

Bigtop 13th April 2011 02:15 AM

Well, everyone's not perfect, but miwa's young and is right now on her second year of operation; hopefully she refines herself over upcoming months and years. I agree with you, mellody.

OogoeDiamond 13th April 2011 04:40 AM

to be honest if it comes to miwa I would really like to hear her raw like - miwa x acoustic guitar only

YuriChan 13th April 2011 04:47 AM

I came across this cute little article about miwa today! ;)
