Gift, Story are so bland to me. I like: NO FUTURE, Out of Control, Zutto and Walk.

Evan Odinson 26th July 2018 05:17 PM

I always skip Story and Anything for you :laugh

relmy 26th July 2018 07:13 PM

I still regularly listen to NO FUTURE and out of control, I love them!

I can't tell you how Story goes but I do like it when it comes on.

That one too:yes

Anything for You is a blessing hymn, if there's something going wrong in your life it must be because you skip this song!

summerain 26th July 2018 09:55 PM

I think I'm one of these three people in the world (the other ones being Ayu and JJ Lin) who really likes The GIFT, specially her vocal interpretation approach. It's soft, mature and delicate.

truehappiness 26th July 2018 09:57 PM

The GIFT is okay but it definitely lacks something. JJ has much better songs so it feels like Ayu got a random thing laying around. Same goes for some Colours collaborations.

Gustavopc 26th July 2018 10:19 PM

The GIFT is the only track from A ONE I ever skip, and not always I skip it. A ONE is a solid album for me and every track is unique even if their instrumentals weren't new into her career. But I do think she paid a lot of attention to the atmosphere of the songs and the feelings she wanted to convey. I just LOVE when music makes me feel stuff, and A ONE is full of that to me. Of course being catchy is also good for a pop song, but if I get no emotions from the song I'll grow over it soon. Be it boldness, power, love, devotion, loss, sadness, loneliness... I just love feeling stuff :P

It's okay. I'm with you. The GIFT seems like one of those songs where I would usually cut it off after 1 minute lol but something about that song develops well and draws me in so that I want to finish it, and I'm not worn out by the end. I think it's beautiful.

Sorry I always oversleep those 7 minutes :P, but I am glad that you like it :)

RealLight 26th July 2018 11:36 PM

WARNING and Story, the rest she can flush down the toilet.

indigochild 26th July 2018 11:39 PM

Can we all at least acknowledge that Ayu's Movin' On Without You is the superior version?

Thank you.

:thanks:

truehappiness 26th July 2018 11:47 PM

For a lot of songs I think Ayu would generate the superior cover. Her taste level and team...

When was this Ayu and Yuming thing? 2005?

Found it. I miss stuff like this.

Nah, fam.

I love the music genre of Hikki's Movin' On Without You and the arrangement. She should of had more of that and Paint it Black on First Love and it wouldn't be her worst album for me. I just always have loved that song.

I do love ayu's version a lot though and am glad she picked that song. But it could have been even more without a generic RedOne team arrangement lol.

On that note, the Many Classic Moments cover could also have been so much more for the same reason.

Such a shame because those are two of my favorite songs from the respective artists. I'm still happy that she covered them.

Same here!

For A One, I love Warning, Anything For You, Out of Control, No Future, The Show Must Go On. I love the whole album really.

Aderianu 27th July 2018 07:21 AM

I didn't like Walk at first. But lyrix is so amazing and her performance at CDL was really touching. So now that's one of my most favorite songs from this album

xLuna&1LOVE 27th July 2018 09:59 AM

I only like WARNING, Last minute and Out of Control from A ONE.
The album disappears in nothingness for me. It's a bit too much the same for me.
Except for NO FUTURE and The Show Must Go On of course, but I can't stand both songs. So much shrieking and yelling in both. God, please no.

rainbow_smile 27th July 2018 11:24 AM

I love A ONE, and Story is actually one of my favourite songs from it :laugh

I also think ayu's version of MOWY is superior :P Imo, she put way more emotion into her voice than Hikkie

I'm sorry but thats kinda of a lackluster comparison. MOWY is Utadas second single from 1999. She would probably do it different if she was 15 years+ into her career at that point too.

I actually think both a really different songs, and therefore I like them both. Actually, I do think Utada did a fabulous job with picking artist for her tribute album and the producer did an even better job to bring them all together. I personally prefer Hikkis because of the overall soundscape and feeling tho.

KittyKathy 27th July 2018 01:57 PM

I prefer Ayu's version.
