I don't know about you guys, but I'm excited about all these different editions. It's like buying the Ayu version of JE boy bands' singles! If you don't like JE boy bands', at least you can experience the "joy" and "excitement" of getting your hands on 12839012838028 editions of Ayu's single!

And finally, I can emphasize with Karen, Yum!Fruit Salad, and all the JE fangirls... hopefully. :D

Well, to be honest I got a bit confused. I was reading my Together When... review and at I first thought that it was just one song but after re-reading it I realised it was the whole single. Sorry for the confusion!


@Karenpang: To be honest I think right now is playing it safe with Ai. In 2005 she looked like she had a lot of potential so they gave her a lot of creative control but now it seems they are more interested in keeping her current fanbase. Sadly this means more boring stuff...

Also I know that many fans complain... but I think it's a neccessary evil right now. Especially since right now only hardcore fans buy singles. Personally, I couldn't be bothered to buy Ayu singles until she started the first press extras :P This also means more photos for us and more extra goodies, even if we don't buy all three! So I'm quite happy about it :D

^I guess the incentives for buying CDs aren't really that great now, so the companies will have to add in something extra to promote the CDs.

Yeah, the different versions with not that much variations seems to be a rip-off, but on the other hand, Demure_dusk is right in that they're putting these extra versions because the sales has shown that the extra editions do help sales.

But then it also gives you an inflated/inaccurate sense of how well or not she is doing. I would like to know what her sales would have looked like had there not been 4 versions of her last singles to buy from the hardcore fans.

for me not really , I only get really irked if they put a different B-side/remix in each edition (in the case of ARASHI's One Love but in this context I'm ok as I really adore the single but not really OK when comes to 4 different editions of KAT-TUN's DON'T U EVER STOP where the A-side's the same for all 4 & the only differences in the 3 limited editions are the 2 solo songs per edition each single comes in d'oh)where the main tracklist (in this case 1 or 2 A-sides) are the same for all editions

it's all up to your choice in doing so , no 1's pointing a gun at you saying that you have & MUST buy/get all x no.of editions of a single & I'm not even talking about albums in this context

Honestly, I think it's a really smart, albeit irritating sales tactics. Singles are honestly, getting less popular in this era of downloading... it's like they HAVE to do this if not the sales are going to be less than 50k or something.
