Sparkle isn't a dark song at all.

Sometimes I think people expect a PV where she's in a club dancing ****ty and wooing guys and shoving them off. That's the typical PV for this song, and as much as I'd like to see Ayu doing that (:P) I know she has more depth than that to her song. It's a bit of a "**** you" since so many have said the lyrics are not 'deep'..

Lee_Hamasaki 17th March 2009 01:20 PM

omfg................ i thought it was megasexy not this ç_ç

dayumi 17th March 2009 01:23 PM

Lol, my bad @ saying/thought that Sparkle is a dark song. Because judging from the melody it's not a cute song like Beautiful Fighters. whatever, lol I still can't wait for the PV though :D

WiseLong 17th March 2009 01:28 PM

This is might me interesting. B-sides, there is no 80 new secs, there is the one part that was showed twice. And I don't like actually idea with '4 same squares with Ayuface', bad effect

micster 17th March 2009 01:31 PM

DO NOT WANT.
Oh and I heard Kazuyoshi so I was right. I mean when an awesome song comes around one would expect an awesome video to follow. But no.

Also what was with the ranking bit where you saw GREEN at No.2 and like Sparkle at 1 ... I dunno I couldnt really tell from that clip but we'll see soon enough I guess

keikeiaznqueen 17th March 2009 01:34 PM

I think the PV will actually be pretty good. There's a nice contrast going on there between cute Ayu and latex suit Ayu.

Hachimitsu 17th March 2009 01:36 PM

That's really cool, I love the idea of imitating an 80s idol.

chloeM 17th March 2009 01:39 PM

oh i cant wait for the full PV

BoBo 17th March 2009 01:39 PM

looks like britney spears's pv :P

ayumisrael 17th March 2009 01:48 PM

Looks cool, ayu looks cute moving in the white dress lol.
I'm glad the gas masks won't be in all of it XD

erika_ayu 17th March 2009 02:12 PM

LOL that dress with puffy sleeves looks like what i would find in my mom's wardrobe :D
haha the red leather looks like something from her KOSE commercials
KAWAIII~~~ :love

If the rumor about Ayu pissing off the head of a television station is true, this video is like a serious slap in the face to that man.

Ayumi implements her own live stage in this performance, and declares herself as the number 1, number 2...and if I'm not mistaken, the number 3 artist on the charts. So its almost as if she's saying, "I don't need your show to make myself number 1" when you look at things that way. And yet, at the same time...judging from this preview the jumpsuit scene might be the "music video within a music video" scenario, but I guess we won't know for sure until the full PV is released.

Another way to look at this PV would be Ayumi portraying the innocent image she maintained during the early years of her Avex career (not the modeling stuff...) and then the more risque, sexier image she's decided to portray now. But again. we won't know for sure until a full-length PV is release.

Anyways, I believe the meaning of the video is probably what someone else speculated: 80s idols were more sweet and charming and didn't really sing about sex or anything and they were like a fantasy, then cut to modern day overt and sexed up and in your face Ayu. Shows the difference between the times. But really, I don't know if the modern day trend is actually better or right more than the old trend. Both eras have their good and bad points.

I thought almost the exact same thing when I saw the pics. The image is completely Seiko and I do hope it is showing like a comparison between times. That'd be cool and I think it would fit the song greatly, since it has a whole go and be bold thing going on.
I actually have high hopes for this. I'm so glad I bought this album; I've liked everything so far.

jiarongisme 17th March 2009 03:04 PM

I like the concept but the 80's thingy doesn't fit the song :\

She looks so innocent and jumpy and cute and all... and yet... the lyrics.... Okay~

We already know that wasn't true :)

KarenPang 17th March 2009 03:31 PM

thanks , it's kinda like a throw back to the 80's

I'm quite scared of her red cat suit & straight black tied hair I don't know why @_@

Larisa-chan 17th March 2009 03:32 PM

Ayu is portraying Seiko Matsuda of the old era of music, and Britney Spears of the new era of music? =P

I'm excited to see the rest of the video; it looks pretty interesting so far. I just hope Ayu's dancers don't infiltrate the PV.

elepop 17th March 2009 03:36 PM

Wow, this is going to be horrible. XD
The 80's idol look don't match with the song and it certainly doesn't match with the red outfit scene. By the way, the red outfit reminds me of "Oops! I Didn't It Again".

Also, the music show that she is supposed to be on a direct copy of the 70s/80s show "The Best 10" It was the music station of the day. (Music Station didn't start till '88)

From what I see so far, I like it at least better than Mirrorcle World. And I like that the PV didn't turn out to just be Ayu in the purple suit getting felt up by her dancers.

super interesting! I'm lovin' the idea and I loved the since I saw it! can't wait!!
