But now, she's all grown up, mature, even married. She's a true adult woman now who has found her rightful place (right on top lol!), so maybe she doesn't have that need to express her inner rage and all this anymore(???)

Who knows... :shrug

That's actually a good point! I never even thought of that. This must be Ayu's Mature Era <3

^Good point. XD

that's an interesting interpretation, but I don't think her maturity has anything to do with the covers. That's up to the company. Does this mean that being more adult means you can't have creative and crazy covers? Also, ayumix 6 covers came out 2008 and they were pretty funky.

Pieces_of_SEVEN 9th March 2011 07:17 AM

^^I don't think it's up to the company. Ayu seems to do whatever she wants (remember that extended and expensive hotel stay in LA that Avex footed the bill for? "Only ayu can get away with something like that...")

Not saying Misa is right, but I'm sure, at the very least, if ayu didn't like the covers, they wouldn't be the covers.

I agree she has some influence over the decisions made, but I don't think she walks in with her managers and the designers of the CD covers and says "I want this" every time. She simply doesn't have the time to micro manage all of her products, events, music, everything. At most she probably said, "I'd like something to do with the three stooges"

At the same time I believe this too, I think Ayu gets away with just about whatever she wants

what she doesn't do though is make all the decisions, she probably had little or nothing to do with the designs of these remix albums, she simply does not have the time to manage everything she does. I don't think the details of the covers of her remix albums are something on the top of her list of "to do's" with how many more important things she has to do in one day.

About the "Three Wise Monkeys":
In Chinese, a similar phrase exists in the Analects of Confucius: "Look not at what is contrary to propriety; listen not to what is contrary to propriety; speak not what is contrary to propriety; make no movement which is contrary to propriety" (非禮勿視, 非禮勿聽,非禮勿言, 非禮勿動).[1] It may be that this phrase was shortened and simplified after it was brought into Japan.

The Chinese expression has 4 principles so I think the 4 remix album covers correspond more to this phrase.
