Also Tsunku announced they will held the last date of their concert tour on Budokan ^_^ Is 2013 ºC-ute's year?

Ranma Matsuri 28th June 2013 10:25 PM

Golden Chinatown sold 31K it's first week making it Berryz's highest 1st week ever (that was previously Dschinghis Khan with 30K). :heart

I hoping they can get between 40K~50K in the long run.

Smileage's "Be the New Me" 's NINKI is 4. 38.20. The group above them (VAMPS) only sold 22K with their last single so S/mileage has a good chance of being Top 3 this week.

Btw, I'm listening to "Smile Sensation" right now. Even if you weren't a fan of the last three singles, definitely give it a listen. Some of the album tracks on this album. Are. Insane. It's like Tsunku finally figured out that album tracks can be used for experimentation instead of mid tempo B-side filler. Even the less experimental tracks are just. Good. It's a really good listen, made me appreciate "Suki yo" a bit more too. Plus having my baby Meimei's lone voice open up the album certainly doesn't hurt. <3

XFER 29th June 2013 11:58 PM

Yeah, I became fan of S/mileage with Dot Bikini, and I wonder why that's not on this album. Anyway, the album is fantastic! It cemented them as a favorite group of mine <3

I wonder, however, why Morning Musume don't say a thing about a new single or album. It's been too long and they need to stay relevant now that they're being successful. I don't think Reina's graduation will affect them, but it seems they're worried about the first post-Reina single.

visionfactory 30th June 2013 05:58 AM

I am worried about the first post-Reina single

Bigtop 30th June 2013 06:08 AM

Yeah, I know Reina was and has never been the leader of Momusu, but for some reason people like her that I think she's the most-popular non-leader girl of Momusu that we may have ever heard of.

And why is that?

But how come Momusu are now worried about their first single without Reina? Hmm...

visionfactory 30th June 2013 06:45 AM

Haven't watched any concert tour since Ai left, I'd want to but just for curiosity cause I don't think I can enjoy a Morning Musume concert anymore

Solarblade 30th June 2013 10:24 PM

^^^

Dot Bikini wasn't on the album because it was on their best album so it they kind of left it there (like Choto Mate Kudasai!).

I think people are worried because Reina was definitely a voice for the group....now it's Riho and Sakura....and whoever Tsunku decides to make a lead voice.

Ranma Matsuri 30th June 2013 11:21 PM

When Ai left they found a way to use her graduation to hype up the "Colorful Era" in the media. Risa's graduation, Sayu's succession to leader, and the arrival of 10th gen put even more steam into the hype resulting in this second wind the group has been on.

I think right now they're just trying to figure out how to use the first post-Reina single and 12th gen's arrival to their advantage. New gen is still pulling in their own fans to cushion the blow but doing something attention grabbing with 12th gen would help build up hype.

@XFer: All of the post-Warugaki 1 singles except the past three didn't make it. Which is actually relieving because I just realized there's been ten singles since the first album. O__O Can't believe it's really been that long...

I've become a bigger fan of S/mileage with their 2nd gen, but haven't been too big a fan of the singles over the past year (I loved the last two though). I don't mind them maturing their image what I personally miss is the "themed" singles they used to always do which is what (imo) made them stand out. Atarashii Watashi ni Nare is the first concept single they've had since Please Miniskirt Postwoman and even then it leaves more to be desired in execution. Yattaruchan is great though and I love seeing Kanana up front.

Bigtop 17th July 2013 09:25 AM

I'm kind of evaluating the characteristics of Tanaka Reina...is she more of a "beautiful" girl or more of a "cute" girl, if anybody have a choice? I'd consider her more of a "cute" girl - a "classic idol" girl, to be more specific...

Aren't idol girls supposed to be more of "cute" girls?

visionfactory 20th July 2013 10:21 AM

^I think Reina is a cute girl instead of a beautiful girl

This concert's going to be super awesome!!

Bigtop 8th December 2013 05:09 AM

I did hear about Morning Musume going to change their name format into a yearly format - starting with "Morning Musume '14" (see above), followed by '15...any thoughts?

Anyways, quite an all-star lineup! Tanaka Reina's LoVendoR, Fujimoto Miko, Takahashi Ai, Mano Erina, and Melon Kinenbi...!

tokyoxjapanxfan 8th December 2013 11:25 AM

In 34 years they'll be morning musume 48.

visionfactory 8th December 2013 05:49 PM

I don't they will keep the number format, everyone seems to hate it (Except me because I hate having too many songs under the same tag if they are different groups really)

mellody 9th December 2013 05:41 AM

Seriously, the idea of that number format name is ridiculously weird.
Rather than put those year number, why don't put generation number?

Generation numbers? That's too hard to sort. I mean, how many generations are we spanning? Two? Three? Sooner or later we might have a new generation...

Man....

It's weird. Morning Musume songs make me feel SUPER nostalgic.

I swear when I listen to songs like Go Girl koi no victory, memories of a 13/14 year old me come flooding back.

They made such great JPOP.

And it makes me sad that those days of "one hour of homework = the worst thing ever" are gone.

...Why can't we go back in time.
