Same here...don't think I've ever even listened to it in full once

emi♡ 9th July 2012 04:04 AM

I couldn't listen to her ballads for a really long time. I totally hated them...

but then, they grew on me. Usually because they're just pretty...and have nice melodies.

They're totally generic...but I can appreciate them for that. I think the one that really made me take a second listen to her generic songs was Stay With Me.

why I liked that song so much...I'll never know :laugh

Anyways, I feel like they show off her girly cheesy romantic side well. She's so into that crap lol

Since people are talking about her ballads I will just say that hands is THE best Kuu ballad imo :D Especially when she performed it on one of her tours, can't remember which one though lol

Zeke. 9th July 2012 06:11 AM

Ku ballads I love/like are:

Yume no Uta
Always
Someday

That's it. Kind of midtempo anyway but she does not do slow-ballads well (say for example, JEWEL and BALLAD by Ayu).

I think hands gets annoying.

jean-baptiste 9th July 2012 06:13 AM

Speaking of ballads, can someone provide me with scans of best bounc & lovers? (And possibly a link to an HQ rip of the album?)

Pieces_of_SEVEN 9th July 2012 06:34 AM

I miss the days when I actually enjoyed a ballad from her though. you, hands, rain, taisetsu na kimi e, etc.

adantatu2 9th July 2012 06:34 AM

I only like Suki de Suki de Suki de, Ai wo Tomenaide and Yume no Uta.
Songs like you, stay with me or Moon Crying are boring IMO.
I prefer her sexy and upbeat songs. I hope she can release something like No Regret again

ALfromHELLSING 9th July 2012 07:05 AM

Was it me who started this ballad talk... Anyway. Boring, generic say whatever you want, but I see her fans crying during her live performances, she definitely delivers. I myself cried a few times watching those lives on DVD (walk, Moon Crying, you).

Most of her fan-base never cared about her ballads. Give us JUICY, SHAKE IT, KO-SO-KO-SO. lol I myself was fan since 2003, but started to really care about her ballads after Promise. It's so overshadowed by her other ballads, she's not even performing it anymore. Then was you, Yume no Uta and... Ai no Uta.
Yume no Uta >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ai no Uta. IMO.

I also think that the version of the new song on beach mix is just going to be the original version. It's not credited as a remix or anything.

yet the preview's instrumental is NOT in the PV version ~_~ we'll have to wait and see.

Candle Light is a slow-ballad and it is FLAWLESS.

talking about it, I have just watched FANTASIA concert again and the ballad section is seriously magical. her vocals are imo the best in jpop when it comes to ballads. I have yet to watch the whole Dejavu Tour concert, but I've read good reviews about its ballad section too.

Zahara 9th July 2012 09:50 AM

Hands is my favorite ballad by her, followed by No Way.

I cry during the ballad section every time I watch her concerts because the way she sings them just seems to touch my heart so deeply I just can't keep myself together anymore. Suki de, suki de, suki de, walk, Ai no Uta, Yume no Uta and Moon Crying always makes me cry so hard. From her non-ballads also Comes Up and Choitashi Life does the same thing (I have no idea why it happens with the latter but oh well).

I have never understood the hate for Moon Crying and Ai no Uta. In my opinion those songs are amazing. Lyrics are just so beautiful and simple arrangement just makes them even more beautiful. I think that these two may have the best ballad lyrics she's ever written. :)

I'm also surprised of the hate for Aishou. I have always thought every fan loves it from the bottom of their hearts. :D

Yes, I agree with you on FANTASIA's ballad section! :D It's just pure magic, I really adore that ballad medley she does there, the atmosphere and the simplicity of the whole section. This is what I want concerts to be. Ballad sections with no huge props, only the singer and the audience. :heart

Dejavu Tour's ballad section is epic in my opinion. It has a nice balance between slower and midtempo songs and she sings them very well. <3

YES. I love Hands, I listened to it so much. :D I am quite a fan of Kuu's ballads.

Hands
Candle Light
Moon Crying
Always
Taisetsu Na kimi E
1000 Words!!

Can't believe people keep forgetting 1000 words, it's probably my favourite ballad from her, but maybe that's because I became a fan through FFX-2 and was obsessed with this song because of the game for awhile. :D
0-ji mae no tsunderella
It's a cover of Misono's song but it's one of my favs from kuu. It's so emotive <3
Tsuki to Taiyou
Come Back <-- LOVE.
You're So Beautiful
No Way

Slow Despite all the Auto-tune, I adore the chorus.

Unless you're talking about western fanbase, I have to disagree there. D: Her Japanese fans adore her ballads, which is why Ai No Uta is one of her most popular songs, as well as 'you' and 'Yume No Uta' (she got loads of awards for that I think) and whenever an album is released, it's usually the ballad which does the best on the chart, such a Brave did very well when JAPONESQUE came out. :) But if you're talking about western fans then yah, we prefer the booty shakin' songs. xD But still like the ballads, though!

Gustavopc 9th July 2012 02:15 PM

^ I also love 1000 no kotoba, what a shame the only perfomance was on secret live :( Maybe cause she didnt write the song so she cant put out all that emotion she puts with her ballads

About the original mix/remix of Beach Mix, I think that the preview is the ending of the song, so it's mixed because the disc is non-stop mix

That could be the explanation of the different instrumental.

I think it would be meh to not have the original version on the CD.

1000 no kotoba got another short live in the Live Tour 2006/2007 ~Second Session~ ballad medley^^

ren'ai 9th July 2012 02:31 PM

I end up loving pretty much all of her ballads. I think the only one I still dont care for is Ai no Uta but I adore the lyrics for it.

The best of the best:

No Way
Anata dake ga
Passing by
Come back
Walk
Saigo no ame
Hana
Rain
Magic
Promise
Aishou
Moon crying (have you ppl who hate this seen her Kingdom and Trick lives for this??)
Yume no Uta

Also she totally owns I love you SAYONARA, Ienai yo, wine red kokoro from ETERNITY.
