Hm, according to those credits, Kuu wrote Lippy, the interlude and Fake Tongue on her own?
But wasn't Lippy a demo by Phrased Differently?

And Gimme U is by Matthew Tischler, nice.
He did Love Me Back, Lay Down, Black Candy and Whatchu Waitin' On?.

Gustavopc 12th March 2015 03:29 PM

^ Oh, I didn't recall this. He's done only amazing tracks with Kuu then, all of these are among my favorite songs from her of this decade, no joking

Corvina 12th March 2015 03:36 PM

I will always remember his name for doing awesome Love Me Back. I swear, this song is perfection to me.
As much as I'll always remember Tommy Henriksen for BUT. :laugh

I misread the hashtags of this thread as "queen of my life" . Just wanted to share that.

PIECE IN THE PUZZLE sounds so awful but goddamn it the line "piece in the puzzle, piece in the puzzle" has been stuck in my head.

when u google Hi-Yunk (LIFE is GOOD!! credits) u can watch some japanese garage rock band live videos...
could imagine Kenji was the main factor for this cause i think they're indie and sound terrible live #lmao
so i hope at least it's some fun summer rock jam like some early UVERworld...

she's listed there as writer not producer...
i think she wrote almost completely new lyrics, thats all

Surreal17 12th March 2015 05:29 PM

Its nice that she participated in the lyrical writing process for all songs :)
This makes the album more personal.

well it was my second cherry girl <3

iirc she's been writing or co-writing all her songs since Dejavu, and prior to it there would be only one or two in the album which she didn't write, excepting grow into one (not sure about affection). From the songs in UNIVERSE, e.g., the only one she didn't write was ECSTASY

mi|kshake 12th March 2015 10:55 PM

Has she not always written the majority of her lyrics? (And co-written any Western produced songs?)

Maybe that's why I don't like Grow Into One much...

If anyone is interested I wrote my University dissertation/thesis/paper on women in the Japanese industry and focused on Kuu a lot. Thought I'd share it with you guys if you wanted to read:

Even tho I wasn't impressed with none of the previews so far when I saw the album on Canadian iTunes I couldn't help but to pre-order. Now it better be at least not too bad. lol They even added Premium Night CD and some new lives. Interesting.

Very cool, I took a look. Only had chance to read abstract and skim through thing a bit but would like to read in the future when I have some time. Thanks for the upload! Looks like you did a lot of work. Well done.

tokyoxjapanxfan 13th March 2015 11:22 AM

I'm not sure how to feel about the previews.

They're not really my style. I also think there's a lot going on in them. I'll definitely give them a try when the full versions are available.

I love Dance in the rain though.

kaled kalil 13th March 2015 01:17 PM

Can this album leak already? I can't take it anymore. haha

@Possessionless: Nice dissertation, I was really cool to read about the japanese music market and the images of the singers.

KuuXAyu-fan 13th March 2015 02:42 PM

I'm still excited for the album but I have to say that I never thought Kuu would ever do an anniversary like this. When Ayu didn't promote her 15th anniversary much (although she did have 2 TV performances while Kuu has none) I wasn't that surprised but I expected more from Kuu. I know she's doing a lot of radio promotion but literally no one in Japan listens to radio so its useless promotion.
