I believe it is genuine because I have no idea when they would broadcast this. I mean, only Ayu-fans find this video. It is not that it is so highly promoted that it almost goes viral in Japan.
Therefore, business is business, but I disagree that Miranda fakes her kindness.
She or her manager could have said to fuck off.

Commercial is all about sharing and arouse sympathy in the potential customer's mind.
Even if this video is only broadcasted in Japan, and even only Ayu's fan watch it, the fact that an international model like Miranda Kerr (doesn't matter if we like her or not) care about Ayumi Hamasaki may lead a lambda-individual to think "Well, that brand must be cool, even its model care to thank the BGM-maker".
AI recognize it's a quite simplistic reasoning, but that's how branding and commercial tend to work.
Maybe her intention is not fake, but the simple fact that she made it just after the broadcasting of the CM, and knowing the working of commercials, just makes me think that is a calculated move by the company, just in order to arouse sympathy.
