^ Was it a Wal-Mart circular? I saw that one too. The cover looks like it was cropped from this promo photo:

Has she really lost that much weight?
Maybe it's photoshopped. I actually like her better with a little more weight, that's why I say it.

About the album, on first listening I wasn't so impressed, but now I think it's really good. Almost all the songs are very catchy, and her vocals are great. It's actually quite better than I expected.

^She lost weight and gained weight for the movie. So it's possible.

i heard the album it is nothing to be crazy about it does seem good though

Mad_Cactuar 30th August 2006 08:31 AM

This album is very very weird. I know Dangerously In Love was a little samey and dreary, but she didn't need to experiment this much.. >.> Kinda like a failed Amerie. I still havent found a track I like, except Ring The Alarm and maybe Deja Vu for now.

How the hell can she release more singles from it? There isn't anything immediately accessible from it. So dissapointing. Maybe it'll grow on me soon.. *listens more* The different versions available are very annoying too.

Btw, Get Me Bodied and Green Light which almost became the second single really sound sucky.

DerrickRocks 30th August 2006 11:45 AM

i agree lol wait till u hear justin timberlakes cd lol

HvnSntGurl 30th August 2006 04:42 PM

I have a feeling she's going to make Freakum Dress a single.

DerrickRocks 30th August 2006 10:04 PM

yeah i agree also!!!

Mad_Cactuar 31st August 2006 12:38 AM

I think it might be Get Me Bodied. It sounds so weird it's a little catchy. Strangely, I think the CD does grow on you slowly.. :tired

Well she is promoting this album well. I saw soo many poster and cms for her. Then to top it off BET'S 106 and Park is have her album drop/birthday party show.

That's Crazy right? As for the songs Im not like Dejavu or Ring The Alarm. I think the words and instrumental doesn't go together for Dejavu. As for Ring The Alarm it's too much yelling and the instrumental is annoying.

I have a feeling this album wont do as well as her first solo one did.

I Loved CRAZY IN LOVE.

Mad_Cactuar 31st August 2006 12:50 AM

It already broke records though: First album to get Gold status without being released. It had 700,000 pre-orders.. :eek Imagine how much it will sell.

As I said the promotion for this album is crazy.

I realize not many people trust wiki, but I do trust their English music articles especially on reputable artistes as they're reliable. I don't think anyone would make something that big up.

Promotion is crazy indeed, even in Australia. Every store I went stocked Deja Vu and had many fancy posters and stuff hanging around with that dopey Beyonce cover.

Well We will find out when the album drops.

OMG if those number are true :eek

It'll debut at #1 for sure. I don't see it lasting too long on the charts

Guess we'll see

When DIL was released, many people said it was "boring", because it had a lot of slow songs. Now with this one, some people are complaining because it has many upbeat songs. Some people aren't happy with anything! :D
Anyway, I had high expectations for this album and they are fulfilled. Although there are some tracks I don't care of, for example Listen. Many people love that ballad, but I don't... It's because she sang it with too much power. For a ballad, I would have liked to hear her singing softly like in "Signs". That's the only thing I miss in this album.
Other than that, her vocals are really impressive, I think it's a great album for dancing and I'm pretty sure it'll do well.
Some people seem to want it to be a failure. If I was gonna wish for someone's album to be a failure, I'd do it with one of the many talentless singers that are out there, not with one of the best.

The CD is evil.. In just a few days, I went from a complete hater to an enamoured fan. :eek I like the album a lot now.

Get Me Bodied is simply stunning despite the stupid title. There isn't any melodic instruments used, but her vocal arrangements and performance creates beautiful melodies. The bridge is quite amazing.

Ring The Alarm is priceless. The video is shocking in a good way. It deserves an Oscar. If Ayu's acting in Hanabi ~Episode II was great, then this one is god. The song itself creates an impression in an instant. Whether it's a good or bad impression is entirely up to taste, but I personally love it to death.

Deja Vu is kind of good. Yeah, I'm not that in love with it. But the Freemasons Remix is GOLD. I regret not buying the single in Australia now. :weep The remix managed to totally change the song. It gave Deja Vu a melancholic makeover and much more modern urban style.

Irreplaceable is another winner, it doesn't sound like previous Beyonce work at all. It's more of the stuff I'd expect from... I'm not so sure myself. But it would fit nicely into Natasha Bedingfield's album I think. It's a gorgeous ballad that fills up the space with lush arrangements.

Other tracks which have begun to sound good is Freakum Dress, Green Light and Suga Mama. It's all so eclectic and crazy, any track could be a single. I can't wait to buy this CD. :D By the way, I absolutely detest Dangerously In Love.

You guys HAVE to listen to the Freemasons mix of Deja Vu.. You know what you gotta do.. :lech

truehappiness 2nd September 2006 01:48 PM

Why are all the titles all weird? XDD

Freakum Dress sounds like a bad b-movie from the 70s about a deadly prom dress.. D:
