Majority rules. If the minority thinks the PV isn't original. What they can do is nothing beside complain. Because majority votes it is good.

PV is good in general. The minority doesn't like it and can complain. But hese minority creates factionalism.

the best PV I've seen this year :yes
It also reminds me a little of Rainy Day. Also, I thought that the Ayu doll was really cute!

Her best PV out this year, I like it... but the final part is really weird, so the man has been waiting Ayu 4 minutes to get into the taxi >_>

Maybe he liked the song and waited till she finished singing? XD

I think it's definitely her best PV this year....(she really gets inspired during this time of the year, huh).
I loved the setting in France...and her outfit too.
When I first saw the clip, I thought it would be a bit unoriginal (puppets in Alterna?) but overall, it wasn't bad; at least there was some plot. Some scenes reminded me a bit of Momentum and Rainy Day too.
My favorites scenes were the puppet breaking to pieces, Ayu in black dress becoming a puppet, and then a single tear rolls down her cheek...aww...

It's interesting how the single had a very bright, soft cover and the PV ended up being dark and melancholy.

yoshino 12th December 2007 06:44 AM

Ayu appears sad near the ending..
nice mv... =)

panda87 12th December 2007 10:47 PM

i think the taxi dude was watching the puppet play too??? and ayu wasn't ready yet, reanalyzing her break up and deciding to get on the taxi or not. the puppet play reminds her of her broken love, and as she sees the girl puppet alone, dropping to the ground, she sees it as herself, a broken up doll being controlled by the cruelty and duty of life/reality. i think it's just this simple. she eventually decides to get on the taxi to leave as she knows that she is truly just like a puppet who must do what she must do. also, she must have called for the taxi in advance and he just came a bit early b/c he wanted to get rid of the couple in the back seat who wouldn't shut up? i dunno.

but that's my interpretation. i really like this PV. truly one of the best of 07. it's one of my favorites. the colors, the lighting, the plot... gives out a very very very lonely feeling... it was a heartbreaking PV and i think ayu has never looked so beautiful.

ImpactBreaker 24th December 2007 03:32 PM

I only got to watch the PV today LOL

I'm impressed people were having MAJOR expectations for this PV. I thought it actually surpassed my expectations, because let's be honest, "Together When..." is a beautiful ballad but it's rather boring, and I was expecting a much worse PV for it (I do like the song despite my criticism though). Some people mentioned there should be some more action LOL How come? It would have looked weird to have more action on a PV for such a calm song.

Well, my interpretation:

The taxi driver, after getting rid of the arguing couple, stares at ayu from a distance, getting surprised by the very strange way she is smiling. Then he looks in the direction she's looking at and he sees the puppet show. Ayu is staring at the puppet show, about two puppets that are in love. She stares and reminds how great it is to truly love somebody and be loved. But at the same moment, she realizes her true relationship has fallen apart, and she and him are nothing but shadows who can't stare at each other (the darker set with ayu and and an unknown guy dressed in black). The taxi driver is looking at ayu's reactions to the puppet show and is rather curious on what might be happening to her. Later, the pupetter gives the male puppet to one of the children, leaving the female puppet alone. When ayumi sees that, she feels a heartache, because it reminds her how the relationship has truly fallen apart. It starts to rain, people run away, but ayu stays there, drowning in her sorrow. She feels destroyed (as the puppet falls and breaks) and become a lifeless being. Maybe, because there were things she wanted to have told the male puppet before they went their separate ways but she couldn't (according to the song lyrics). Even though she's regretful, at the same time, she's happy because she knows what she felt was true (reason why she's "monalisa" crying). Then she starts to feel better after crying and stands up. The taxi driver realizes it's time for her to go away from that place and opensd the door.

Well, it's basically what everyone has mentioned already LOL BUt I felt like writing it anyway.

Anyway, her crying does look better than her crying in other videos. Crying acts CAN suck, because they're an act, and if the actor is not pro, it will suck. Crying demands that you use certain facial muscles in coordination. When you fake it, there's a chance you will be using the wrong muscles for the action, and somebody with a good perception (sometimes it doesn't even need good perception if the acting is pretty bad) will notice there's something unnatural about the crying. HANABI~episode II~ and HEAVEN had absolutely terrible crying acting in my opinion, because you can notice how much ayu is squeezing as if she's going to take a dump in the toilet bowl in order for her lacrimal apparatus to work.

Psychotic_X 24th December 2007 03:50 PM

no offense.. but this was just a boring PV..
love the song, hate the PV..
whats with these artists and their strange and boring ballad PVs...

Kuu's Ai No Uta and Ayu's Together When... complete snoozefest!

Bad Wolf 24th December 2007 09:05 PM

I started tearing up half-way through the video, and nearly burst full out into tears when Ayu collapses/turns into the marionette.

I don't think I've EVER been so moved by a music video before. It's a combination of things, really--Ayu sitting on the bench originally seems so hopeful as she watches the marionette show and then it's contrasted with the darker image of her, turning and walking away, only to turn around and have the man be gone.. Just watching the build up of it was painful... you could see her face just struggling either not to cry or to maintain this mask, and you could SEE the mask crumbling as she's singing and I just.. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before. The part of the girl marionette was so haunting, and so heartbreaking.

The fact that she finally does get up and walk towards the cab is just so... :( She knows she has to leave, she's READY to leave, but there's just one last thing she has to say before she can do it.

jonneh 25th December 2007 05:57 AM

I liked the PV. Sure, I guess it could be considered "boring", but I don't really think so. I like both the song and the PV for this one. And I can happily state that this song is way better than the poor excuse "(don't) leave me alone". Though, I know I'm in the minority on that one.

P.S: I love her hair when she's wearing the black dress!
