Here, MTV is still showing Paris Hilton's ridiculous "reality"... Shame on them, not even a video marathon? MJ has created that channel practically

there was some kind of video marathon a few hours ago :yes but i live in the US, so..maybe it's different.

naxxo.licious™ 26th June 2009 04:04 AM

^ It is. I live in Mexico and i haven't seen a single MJ video. It really is a shame.

Ayumi27 26th June 2009 04:04 AM

Yeah, I've heard so... But here not MTV Latin America nor MUCH MUSIC Argentina nor any of the music channels have even mentioned it yet. The best coverage by far is CNN's one

freedreamer 26th June 2009 04:08 AM

omg...yesterday I was just saying that BoA admires him a lot...O.O
o dear...
RIP

As a 20 year old whose parents pretty much raised me on the sounds of Motown, the death of Michael Jackson is a devastating blow for me. When my mother was informed by her best friend, she almost had a nervous breakdown. Michael Jackson meant to her as Elvis means to many of his fans. I tried to keep it all together but, when I saw a video clip of him with the Jackson 5, I just couldn't control myself any longer.

Words just can't describe how I'm feeling right now. Even after knowing he's been dead for nearly eight hours, I'm just waiting for him to kind of pop up and say, "haha, fooled ya'!" Yet as time continues on, I'm slowly but surely coming to accept the bitter truth.

Michael truly was a living legend---I knew this and yet I didn't know it at the same time. After watching all the montages on CNN, FOX & MSNBC, I feel as if there are so many things about him that I didn't really appreciate him for, and I was a fan of his. Without him, we wouldn't have the wonderful impact of a music video could have on a single, we wouldn't have the amazing innovations for live performances, and to be honest we wouldn't have pop music as we have it today.

Despite all of his legal troubles and personal issues, he truly was the King of Pop.

I will miss him dearly...

That's better than BET...their programming continues as usual---sex, drugs, and violence. They haven't played a Michael Jackson video since FOREVER. In fact, they don't even mention his name anymore. I guess Sunday's BET Awards will feature a *LONG OVERDUE* tribute to him. If you ask me though, it's a little too late for that...:(

Lady~Deviance 26th June 2009 04:33 AM

Watching TV clips of him brought back fond memories when I was living in NY dancing in the street to his music. My mother almost had a heart attack when she found out about his death.

What are you talking about? BET just had a marathon of his music videos that ended not too long ago. I was watching them.

Bigtop 26th June 2009 04:43 AM

I just feel sorry about the situation there. I know that I am only 16 years old - I'm not the guy that usually focuses on this kind of music, you should know...

But I feel that after seeing and hearing all kinds of this, I just now feel getting tired physically for the day. I just feel sorry to Sony Music, which had rights to Michael Jackson, as well as people who purchased tickets for any one of the 50 concerts he was supposed to perform starting in July...

On the other hand, I know that TV Asahi is really broadcasting a Music Station Special not on Michael Jackson but on a pair of "Best 50" special song lists. Will TV Asahi's music department ever going to mention the death of Michael Jackson during the special? I mean, TV Asahi's news arm, All-Nippon News Network, along with other media outlets in Japan, have known about Michael Jackson's death...

yeah :( apparently La Toya was supposed to say something also but she was too devastated to speak. i'm wondering if Janet or anyone else from his family will say something.

emi♡ 26th June 2009 05:02 AM

^yeah, they said on the radio that they would be watching her when his death was unconfirmed, because apparently she was like extremely upset in the hospital and I guess she came out of the room crying so much, and that was a clue to everyone that it was really, really bad.

I can't imagine how they all feel.

panda♥ 26th June 2009 05:17 AM

I heard somewhere that he went into cardiac arrest after overdosing on sleeping pills. They're performing an autopsy tomorrow though.

It brings be great anxiety hearing about his death. I wasn't a big fan and I didn't listen to his music much, but I know he was a legend in the music industry. The American music industry - or the music industry PERIOD would not be where it is today if it wasn't for him. I cannot begin to imagine how his long time fans must feel right now. I'm getting choked up even thinking or typing about his death, so it must be completely heart shattering to his long time fans.

He probably touched the heart of many through his music. It makes his death even more saddening knowing that he was planning a HUGE come back. He had 50 shows planned for London in August and was rehearsing for the past 2 months. He even passed a lengthy medical exam, and now he's gone?

I hope he rests in peace and I hope he knows how much he has done for many people and the music industry today and how much he will be loved and missed.

guilty_me: Do you mind if I kind of take your MJ sig idea? I'll use another pic but I love the 1958-2009 thing. :)

AyUta 26th June 2009 05:21 AM

I had went on YAHOO much earlier, when the reports barely came in from TMZ that he had left his home in LA to the hospital because he wasn't breathing. About half an hour later, I watched the news and they said he was pronounced dead from cardiac arrest. It was a huge blow. RIP Michael Jackson, King of Pop.

mcluva420 26th June 2009 05:37 AM

Michael Jackson has inspired and influenced the whole world. Musicians worldwide must be sad :( Not just the fans

I thought you were so strong You'd make it through whatever It's so hard to accept the fact You're gone forever~Bye Bye-song of the day

"Rest in peace Michael Jackson. I'm going to miss you so much...I'm so sad right now" - BoA

"I am heartbroken. My prayers go out to the Jackson family, and my heart goes out to his children. Let us remember him for his unparalleled contribution to the world of music, his generosity of spirit in his quest to heal the world & the joy he brought to his millions of devoted fans throughout the world. I feel blessed to have performed with him several times & to call him my friend. No artist will ever take his place. His star will shine forever." - Mariah Carey

"at the end of the day, the king is still the king" - Fat Joe

rite now, MTV, VH1, and BET are playin michael jackson stuff, with discussion. I think they BEEN doing so.

Lady_Eowyn 26th June 2009 05:39 AM

I'm sad... and i'm watching the video he did with Janet...

May be it's stupid but i can't help it :weep

SunshineSlayer 26th June 2009 05:40 AM

Honestly I've never been a huge Michael Jackson fan, but have always at least liked many of his songs and I understand what he meant to so many people.

His death was sudden, but I wasn't exactly shocked. The stress he has been under the past decade alone could cause heart failure. He was a strange man stuck in a fantasy world because he never had a childhood of his own, but I never believed any of the child molestation controversies around him - I can imagine how much of a physical and mental strain that must have caused.

I also feel bad for Farah Fawcett's death and the fact that it will be totally overshadowed - what an unlucky day for her to die on.

MTV completely died a few years ago. There is no such thing as MTV. I can't believe I'm actually old enough to remember when MTV was strictly a music channel, was cool, and was actually worth watching before it turned into nothing but reality crap.

Michael Jackson is a HUGE deal in Japan. I'm sure this news will be all over the place. I'm not sure about tonights Music Station though simply because it is a countdown episode with no guests and those are not always filmed live - they may have already filmed the episode. Wouldn't surprise me though if they somehow put this news into there. If not, for sure next week will have some kind of special. You can also expect something for sure on SmapxSmap as all the SMAP guys are humongous Michael fans. In fact one of Michael's last really official tv appearances was on SmapxSmap I believe. For those that haven't seen it, here is SMAP meeting Michael Jackson for the first time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo4OHrLHgck
