but there's always her 1st MUSIC STATION performance to look out for this coming Fri :luv2

meisa still did better with an mini-album and a single than yamada yu's been doing with one album and a few singles (since 2006). she's also a model and actress, but i think to her music is just a side thing. i don't want meisa to just leave music as a side thing, too.

but anyway, i still hope she gets a top 20 weekly position.

Lol, yeah but I think Kuroki's music style is a lot more appealing to the Japanese public than Yami Yu's was. (I think everybody knows why :innocent) Plus, I don't Yami Yu was invited on MUSIC STATION this fast (wait... was she ever invited at all? :P)

she was only on there for her debut single, "REAL YOU" :yes

but..why isn't yamada yu's style not so appealing? i really don't know why, lol. she does the same kinda urban-pop-ish music like meisa does :shrug she's also been an actress for a longer time, too. so she is still well known. it's just that her music dosen't sell well, unfortunately :( i'm not trying to compare or anything, but i was just trying to mean that meisa is selling more than yamada yu does, so at least that's a good thing for meisa? the single could have gotten a much worse first day ranking and stuff. so i guess we should be satisfied enough with that. :yes the single did get good promotion, though. with a CM and all. but sony generally just dosen't have much promotion :P

Yeah, I don't understand either why you think Yu's music isn't appealing to the Japanese public. From what I've heard, she mostly plays bad guys in her acting roles, is that what you mean? (I don't watch JDramas.)

I love Yu's debut album and don't really think her music is that different from Meisa's. In fact, if you were to compare album credits, you'd see that she actually works with some of the same people.

I think she did pretty well with the sales, without the promotion I mean.

maybe the factors as to why she's doing much worst than Kuroki is maybe because she's going out with Shun Oguri ? :shrug

i think it's rather normal though? if you seen singers of her kind, such as an actress-turned-singer or model-turned-singer (i.e. Yamada Yuu & Leah Dizon) they sell well at first, but they gradually lose sales overtime. their debut are usually the strongest in sales (this is the idol standard, usually).

I dunno why, but hellcat had much better stuff, and SHOCK sounds a bit too blank, boring & recycled. I also don't like wasted. noisy & forgettable

the photobook somewhat reminds me of Leah Dizon first Japanese photobooks, which were also shot by Leslie if I rmeember correctly. the poses, the *ahem* clothes
but I look forward to seeing the book! I love this girl :)
