Setlist is real, I was surprised. Felt like a wasted opportunity to me. But her vocals were great for all of them. But granted I was watching it live, and when I watch it back it might sound differently. But I think she did them great. She recorded M and Seasons twice. She wasn't happy with the first time.

I was super close, and it was a really cool experience. Like a private concert for 600 people haha.

They asked us not to share the track list but someone else did so I don't feel so bad :-p

I was interviewed in the waiting area to give a message directly to Ayu. They interviewed me in japanese then asked for an English message. I told Ayu that she has lots of fans in western countries so if she has the chance please perform. You're welcome. Lol

Thanks so much for your report!! Did she sing M in lower key again?

I think the purpose on doing this thing is to attract new fans not for her die-hard fans...so it's ok to recycle some of her performances costume

If I had just made a guess about the set list it woulda been this, hahaha... MAYBE I'd have guessed BLUE BIRD rather than Movin' on without you, but aside from that, yup.

Nearly the same her, but I whould have bet for You&Me instead of MOWY xD

Oh.. greate... I can watch NHK. But I think, it will be bordcast in the night here.

Refix 29th July 2015 08:43 PM

M, SEASON and evolution... I'm soooo over them.
And +1 about that wedding gown performance, overused.

Minttulatte 29th July 2015 10:08 PM

I have no problem with the setlist, and I think I'm one of those rare people who thinks this way. I'm just really happy that she still gets to perform on TV at times. :)

A lot of people complain too when they don't include fan favs and that's her Japanese fan favs, since its for her Japanese audience. I cant remember which band it was over in America, but one band did a tour, did not include any old fan favourite songs, and by the end it was their worst concert ever with fans demanding refunds :P

Did she cried/breakdown during the performance or did the tabloids exaggerate again?
Lots of rumors going on with her divorce and her husband staying in SG when ayu returned to pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ and saying that she breakdown during the NHK SONGS performance...

tenshi no hane 30th July 2015 08:00 AM

^ No, she cried during the interview (source: mdpr.jp & barks.jp).

There's a lot of popular wedding songs, so I guess it comes from there.

ayumisrael 30th July 2015 09:32 AM

I wonder why did she cry on the interview?

Chris85 30th July 2015 11:34 AM

Too bad this program is only 29 minutes long. If they say it features long interview, all songs must be TV-size.

Probarly cause she had to wear that same wedding dress every time she sings M. I know I'm sick of it. :yes

jiarongisme 30th July 2015 02:11 PM

So apparently she cried while reflecting on her past and her fans: http://www.jpopasia.com/news/ayumi-h...ns::18165.html

Yuniz_hime 30th July 2015 02:17 PM

I was like "WOW, Ayu is so beautiful" but then when I look up, "Timmy, why?" His dress is...hmm...not suitable with the wedding dress.

Refix 30th July 2015 09:43 PM

IMO she's just being herself, you know the cry emotional things. Whether she got something on her mind or this just some kind of publicity act to get a good ratting or truly some appreciation to her fans. No one knows...

maxikot 30th July 2015 10:01 PM

I don't believe she could pretend crying while being interviewed (during some performances - ok). I don't know if it's really hard to comprehend that for some people it's easy to cry and it's natural for them because that's their level of sensitivity.

Ayumi Hamasaki shed tear during a recent interview in which she reminisced about the past and thought about her fans.

On August 8, Hamasaki will be featured on the NHK program "SONGS". The singer discussed many aspects of her lengthy career as one of Japan's most iconic divas.

Originally, Hamasaki did not dream of being a singer. She wasn't even sure that she was good at singing, a sentiment she expressed in a letter written to her producer at the time. Her producer reassured her by saying that she sang as well as she expressed her feelings. This talent for writing would prove useful as she wrote her own lyrics with a poetic touch rarely matched by her peers.

Despite her initial trepidation, the singer's career quickly took off. Hamasaki's fame skyrocketed, and her image became larger than life. The singer was dumbfounded by her sudden fame. "The real me was so different," she expressed. The discrepancy between the person the public saw and the person she saw in the mirror led her to write songs such as "SEASONS" and "M".

Regarding her live performances, Hamasaki shared that she doesn't put together concerts, but rather shows. The singer combines touching ballads, upbeat dance song, and elaborate costumes to create an unforgettable experience for the audience.

Although in recent years Hamasaki has spent a significant amount of time in the United States, the singer always makes sure to return to Japan, the place where it all began. While talking about her touring, the singer began shedding tears. She shared that she was thinking about her fans who have stuck by her side all these years, causing her to get teary-eyed.

Hamasaki is currently promoting her new mini album "sixxxxxx" which will be released on August 5.

she's an emotional human being in general, i don't see why this couldn't happen.

ayumisrael 31st July 2015 10:19 AM

Thank you! It's very touching.

rikku1994 31st July 2015 11:44 AM

Lol that setlist was predictable from the moment I saw that pic of her in a wedding dress. I'm totally fine with it, and i hope her vocals were good.
