Okay, just had to make sure :D

We're not bashing Paris. If anything, Paris bashes herself on a daily basis ;)

Mad_Cactuar 2nd September 2006 06:40 AM

Only Screwed was Haylie's. And no doubt about it, the whole album is obviously sang by her.

I'm not sure if your talking about me.
Anyway I don't believe I'm bashing Paris. Sorry if you see it that way.
I think Paris is a catalyst to why music is losing it's quality. I'm not
saying that she's the main reason. I mean theres this singer that I wont
name who's sold millions of records and can't sing. Now she's trying to
bring in another person thats just going to bring music down even more.
I mean the dude can't rap.:innocent
Anyway I'm sorry maybe I'm thinking to serious about this. I guess I
understand that Paris' album is supposed to be fun. It just pisses me off
that there are so many people out there working there butts off trying to
become a singer. Yet she says she wants to sing and people are throwing deals at her. She has no intention of being a true artist.
I don't mean to bash her. I'm just stating my opinion on this whole thing.

the angel song 2nd September 2006 07:07 PM

lolo Jayee19 my comment was mostly directed to a few choice people, but made to be taking generally. I wasn't saying "no discussion in forum duhhh~~!!" What I was really trying to say (though I probably failed at it) was some comments are just bashing. There's nothing backing them up. I'm sure you can skim through the topic and find quite a few.

Just for the record, I'm not a Paris follower, just watched some Simple Life marathon and lmao which made me curious to her album. I'm a bystander to her if anything. God forbid if I try to challenge this thread as a whole since there's so many allknowings in here D:.

That basically says it all.
That's the problem here, not the fact we think Paris is stupid, acts like a showgirl or stuff like that.

On the other hand, if she really did pay for most of the whole thing - I believed Warner paid all the costs of the production, even more, actually paid Paris for recording that album, for the whole deal, but recently I hear different things - I shouldn't really blame her. It's her money and it isn't really her fault she was born in the Hilton family. And probably not really her fault she doesn't know how could she make a better use of the fact.

Don't know what the point of that comment was, but I agree the bashing should be put to a minimum. Unless it's about the album, we should try and refrain from judging Paris. Or any other artist on this board *cough*KodaKumi*cough*AyumiHamasaki*cough* :innocent

Personally, I'm okay with Paris for the most part. She lives her life the way she wants to, and more power to her. She seems to handle the criticism towards her in stride, especially in regards to her little personal home video. I can definitely respect her confidence. I just can't stand the album, or her voice for that matter :D

have u even heard her voice compared to paris's farting, moaning and constapation it does seem like her stomach is upset during the whole album and she cant sing live somewhere posted that somewhere on a paris hilton forum

No, I just don't think how these are rational.. Funny nevertheless, the second one got me laughing non-stop. :laugh
HvnSntGurl, I understand, at least you provide valid reasons of your dislike and you didn't bash Paris.

In any case, the average general opinion of Paris can be seen at http://www.metacritic.com/music/arti...tonparis/paris and she got a score of 53! Not bad!

my reason and for the entire world most likly not wanting to buy her album..
The music is not good. the vocals are not good. the production is not good she sounds like a back up singer. There is better talent out there i bet i can pick anyone out this forum and make them a better album than this!! it just shows that if paris can make an album anyone can... its getting scary cuz this stripper is haunting me in my dreams i had a nightmare i was stuck inside Paris hilton's house it was all pink i was scared to death like i was held captive. This album has an evil curse on it someone needs to stop it its draining energy from anyone who listens to it!!!!! where is sailor moon?:thud

Mad_Cactuar 3rd September 2006 02:53 AM

What do you mean she sounds like a back up singer? She was the star of every song. And Screwed was all about her..

DerrickRocks 3rd September 2006 03:03 AM

her vocals are lack luster i have taken vocal classes for years and a few people were listening to this and our vocal coach played it. And he was like what do you think.. and the class laughed at some songs. "Fighting over me" was the funniest she was like a hook in that song rarely a verse. And her vocal range sucked!!!!! i heard Haylie's version of "SCREWED" and "STARS ARE BLIND" and "I Want You" they were way better she actually showed character and hit notes. And this review said it the best. The songs were heavily edited how can u have Jewel as your avatar now that is a TRUE ARTIST~!!!! Paris will not be doing a sophmore album omg she is hurting the american music industry!

NOW Magazine
Though Storch and other heavy hitters do their best to craft reasonable facsimiles of a broad range of Today's Best Dance-Pop Hits, they can't hide the fact that Hilton's a **** singer who can't carry a tune even when the vocal melody is reproduced note-for-note in the arrangements.

Blender
A few fast, punky songs suit her pout, but more than anything, Hilton makes celebrity sound boring.

Rolling Stone:
This... well, let's call it "album" represents the death certificate of all that is good about pop music. At least it has historic value: rock and roll died a long time ago, now we have a precise date to evocate the death of pop.

Los Angeles Times
Like cotton candy, the food group she most resembles, what may seem like a mouthful for a moment is gone in the blink of an eye, leaving a sweet aftertaste and empty calories behind. [22 Aug 2006]
And i refuse to let Paris kill pop music!!! i better rush my album out now lol damn contracts!!! to counter act this poison lol

HvnSntGurl 3rd September 2006 03:08 AM

^Back up singer should be a compliment. I've heard a ton of backup singers and sometimes they could sing better then the artist there backing. I'd say Paris's should be like a techno music singer. Since at least then you really don't have to perform. Digitally destorting people voice is actually accepted in that type of music. I think i wouldn't be annoyed if she did that.

And this is plain stupid as she does not go out of tune even once on the album. I wonder if the reviewer even listened to the CD.

HvnSntGurl 3rd September 2006 03:10 AM

^Thats because she sings one key the whole album.

DerrickRocks 3rd September 2006 03:26 AM

LOL one key the whole time is true that is what everyone is saying. your right i can see her doing techno but not pop or rock at all not even hip hop or rnB she is a club girl right she should do techno

Mad_Cactuar 3rd September 2006 10:32 AM

YAY!

Paris Hilton's debut "Stars Are Blind" got off to a fast start at radio, with its fresh, sun-splashed reggae vibe—even those who ridicule her vacuous image had to admit it was a tasty little pop morsel—but it stalled surprisingly fast, just scratching the Pop 100 top 15. While aborted second single "Turn It Up" still heads to clubs, duly remixed, Warner Bros. is now calling for top 40 adds with "Nothing in This World," another undeniably catchy, hook-happy midtempo jewel. The vocal is strikingly similar to "Stars"—mercy, does this mean that Hilton can actually sing? Sounds like Miss Paris could teach top 40's superstars a thing or two about melody. And with her Billboard 200 debut at a lofty No. 6 this issue, the public seems to agree. Who would have ever suspected? — Chuck Taylor, Billboard
OMG! Awesome! Nothing In This World is my fave track!

my words ^^ That’s the absolute truth.

the angel song 4th September 2006 01:14 AM

I've said all I needed to say, really. I was just major irked by the blatant bashing by some people.

On a side note, we all have felt the decline in quality music nowadays. Is it really fair to pin Paris up as the posterchild for this descent?

HvnSntGurl 4th September 2006 01:24 AM

^Yes
She's the Queen and K-Fed is the King.
Well I'll put it this way. She's I guess one of the most popular people out there right now. thats why it's easy to blame her. Either way whether she's a poster child or not she's still one of the reasons music quality is going down.

Jayee19 4th September 2006 02:03 AM

I'm still finding it a bit hilarious that people are defending Paris. She's not exactly one of the nicest people out there. Have you heard the comments she's been making about her former friend Lindsay Lohan? Calling the girl "fire crotch" in front of paparazzi. And lets not forget her dating her other former friend Mary Kate Olsen's boyfriend, right after the girl got out of rehab. Not trying to judge her, but if she's immature enough to call someone "fire crotch", then I don't see anything wrong with someone bashing her music or complaining about her lack of talent.
