For those who bring up Madonna: is it really a good thing that she still makes music? Prancing around in a leotard at 50? Hmm no thanks, she needs to stop and yeah.

:roflmao Why should she retire? For Christ's sake, she's 31, not 50. Music is her passion, if we are passionate about something, should we retire, and leave behind what we love just because we grow old? making music and performing is for young people only? that's the most ridiculous thing i've seen in a long time.

Also, just people making huge sales in music are the only ones who should be on the market? you are not a real artist if you don't sell millions of records? don't make me laugh. music is about expressing yourself, that's the main idea, as far a i can tell. Some people express their thoughts and feelings painting, some people write, or cook, or design. And some people express themselves through music. Not everyone is thinking "gosh i gotta sell millions of records" when they're composing music or writing lyrics. Of course it's nice when you see tons of people loving what you do, but that alone is not motivation enough to be a musician or an artist. When you compose, you are doing it for yourself, and because it fills you and satisfies you.

I hope you're kidding. As much as you and everyone else adores her and whatever, I hate to break it to you but - she's human. An aging human at that. She's not going to be a pop star forever.

Happy birthday anyway. :cool

You should read carefully first before replying me. I responded to the "retire now" statement. That's when i said " that's going to happen only in your dreams" I know she is not gonna be around forever, obviously.

Buff, at least these discussions are much better that those made by some pathetic trolls at Last.fm

Andrenekoi 5th October 2009 07:36 AM

^Well, pop music IS about having good sales, it's comercial music after all... and if Ayu is going to make comercial music (as she have being doing for the last 11 years) I want her to have good sales (ando don't becoming an almost 50 years old momusu with old fans that lives from the past)

About Madonna... (to keepsgettingbetter) Her music still better than most of the ones released by younger pop stars ;D Her concerts still better than most too, and also her videos and her sales... So... well, i'm pretty sure she will be around for some 20 years more ;)

"Old people" and "dead people" are different things...

I know I'm late, Ayu. But that's only because I was enjoying a little present of my own on your birthday :cool

How selfish of me :lech

Happy Birthday Sexy Girl :luv2

I know right! Turning 30 means you age 5+ years every year. Give me a break.

Have you even seen Seiko Matsuda's skin? Probably not. But "sagging" is an inevitable part of the aging process. Being older=/=being ugly. It's all about taking care of yourself. Plenty of people can still look good and have a youthful glow at an older age.

Music=/=prancing around in a leotard, yeah. Completely irrelevant.

I hate to break it to you but - life doesn't end at 30. Neither is her being a pop star going to end. She'll always be a pop star.

Stop being ageist... There are plenty of people in their 40s and above who are more active than you and me.
