Mid-day sales: 13,780 浜崎あゆみ 68,900 is the estimate with the 5x multiplier, but I think it'll be higher. This album sold more than NEXT LEVEL did on its mid-day first day: Quote:

Sales will be 'weak' Ayu-wises, sales will be 'strong' compared to others, sales will be 'amazing' for someone who's been at the top for 12 years; but sales will absolutely get her to #1, where she belongs :) So we can be happy

Yep. Only about a 14k difference from NEXT LEVEL. It's a lot better than artists who go down like 30k, haha.

That's pretty good! Maybe the sales for the week will be more stabilize~?
Maybe the difference in first days sells is because the hardcore fans would buy only two copies or just the tea box set at release, unlike Next Level's 4 versions! Next level did drop faster in the week than Guilty/Secret. |

85K is a good number. Remember there are practically 2 versions of R'n'RC (the box set will be sold out really fast and will not affect future sales figures), while NL had 3 covers, and a unlimited USB version.
My guess is that R'n'RC will hit over 200K on the first week.. hopefully.. :). |
To put things into perspective: Ayu's first day sales place her in the top 36 of the yearly 2010 Oricon album sales chart.

As I expected, lower than NEXT LEVEL. Her albums will just sell less and less over time. Its only chance of beating NEXT LEVEL is for consistent sales over the next few days. But selling higher than previous releases is always going to be hard.
Will a TV performance help? Maybe. So long as she chooses the right song. I think she needs to perform something that's a bit more original sounding than Microphone (don't look back or sexy little things). NEXT LEVEL and this album have similar promotion scales.. except Ayu's done a couple more TV performances. Dunno if its going to help much. |
They are doing what they can and want afford just enough to give her 'ok/good' sales...
The promotion surely is better than having many different versions of the album, there should be many leftovers from NEXT LEVEL by now... many that people did not buy, so having just 2 versions is much better. Is all about the tour I guess... as long as people keep feeling interested in going to see her :) P<F is so overrated xD I love namie and all that, but if that album is topping the Japanese charts means that Japanese music in general is pretty meh nowadays, so meh that is not worth buying. Seriously, Japanese music had much better times a few years ago, to me everything before 2007 was good/fresh, but since then everything seems repetitive, plain, boring, etc. EDIT: Maybe the K-pop boom was all thanks to the downhill of J-pop, not that K-pop is good, but J-pop just got worse. I really admire namie, and I'm really proud of her, as well as I'm proud of ayu that keeps on working really hard. (I should kick myself and listen to Don't look back now :P) Anyway I'm not sad or anything, I'm really happy for ayu :D |
I'm a bit disapointed with these sales, 85k is not bad but it deserves way better I hope it will stay steady !

Ayu's sales are decent to me. I'm okay with these and don't understand why so many people are sad about Ayu's sales these days. :D She has already outsold everyone else with her past sales. No female artist these days in Japan can beat her. :D |

Everyone would like the new album to sell more than NEXT LEVEL because most (people who are fans of ayu and not fans at all) think that the new album is miles better than the past one. Just because she used to sell tones and more than everyone doesn't mean that she deserves crappy sales now, even though it already doesn't look like they will be crap. Namie also had her huge sales in the past but you are still happy for her but you couldn't care less as long as it's everyone besides ayu. You always seem like you don't want ayu to succeed anymore (specially with your X is way better than ayu comments and your Xs are like everyone). On another note, it's awesome that ayu might have #1 weekly on both albums and DVDs on the same week! :love |

We can hope that it will be more consistent than NL but with sales nowadays I wouldn't expect anything.
My total estimation for that album was 280,000 if it can pass it then it's pretty great. =D |
I wonder if the 85K includes all the 25K box sets? Probably not, since some of them are sold online and a re still available, but still. Hope it wont drop much =/

I think if you purchase the special limited collector's complete box set, then the sales for BOTH the Rock'n'Roll Circus album and the Arena Tour 2009 concert DVD will count - for both the album and DVD rankings respectively...

Well, I was hoping at least 80k, but only expecting 75k. So this is good, especially considering we haven't even factored in the boxes yet. :yes (So technically, she sold a little over 100k that way!! :O)

This is pretty good. I'm definitely not expecting her to exceed Next Level (although I wouldn't mind it), but if she could reach the same level I'll be able.
Plus I'm secretly hoping she'll beat Kuu again for the first time in about 5 years. (Nothing against her, but it'd still be interesting XD) |

Wow, that actually surprises me. I thought this disaster would actually sell based on the way fans are supposedly loving it.
Wow.. I'm shocked.. Only 85k? Hmm on the account that it will probably drop to either 30-40k the second day. I'm going to predict around 195k-210k the first week. |

im pretty happy with the sales considering i expected a lot less lol. this is surprising. and without the online sales too like from the box sets (As everyone keeps mentioning). this is a decent start ^___^ i only wish the best to ayu sales (although i think even if many think its better than NL the quality doesnt seem to always matter with ayu sales. . .so it may be hard to outsell it). but im hoping for a rise. this is wonderful day brightener
