[Polish Article] 31-year-old Japanese woman on top of the charts

Interia.pl is a large Polish web portal. According to Alexa rankings it is the 167th most popular website worldwide and the 8th most popular site in Poland.

31-year-old Japanese woman on top of the charts

In Japan they call her "Empress of pop".
Her latest release is now on top of the world's best-selling charts, the album "Rock'n'Roll Circus"

Ayumi Hamasaki has sold over 50 millions records - Photo: MN Chan / Getty Images.

She was born 1978 in Fukuoka city. At age 14 she moved to Tokyo to pursue her dream of a career in show business. In 1998, she managed to debut with the single "Poker Face." Since that time, Ayumi is constantly on top of the charts, and has sold as far as 50 million CDs!

Hamasaki is popular not only in Japan but also in China, Singapore and Taiwan.

Each of her 11 albums landed at the first place of the Japanese best-seller list. The latest best-seller, "Rock'n'Roll Circus," is promoted with the single "Sunrise". See the video for this song:

On the second place, the 16-year-old Canadian Justin Bieber with the album "My Worlds", which includes EP "My World" and the LP "My World 2.0." The young singer quickly made his idol status, now you can even talk about that the frenzy is over - here's proof.

3rd re-occupied the position of Lady GaGa's debut album "The Fame", released in 2008 yet. Just behind the eccentric singer we have two new products - the American duo MGMT from the album "Congratulations".

6th this place this week and publishing Usher "Raymond v. Raymond", and the 7th Slash position was the first solo album in his work, titled simply "Slash".

"Numbers of Slash's solo debut, listen with a smile on his face, but a wide banana came to me really only two songs. The rest of the composition is housed in the foreseeable medium, although a juicy solo bow - we wrote in our review.

Ten leading global overview supplement: Lady Antebellum with 'Need You Now ", Plan B," The Defamation Of Strickland Banks And the Black Eyed Peas and the album" The END ".

C+R+E+AYUMI 6th May 2010 07:47 AM

Such a great day!

njanjayrp 6th May 2010 07:53 AM

i think its you that need to get a life for getting offended just because someone doesn't care for ayu's endless achievements.

Andali 6th May 2010 10:37 AM

wooo!!!! go Ayu, smash that Bieber

rusuke 6th May 2010 10:45 AM

It's great to know that Ayu hits the No.1 spot again at UWC.

This is not the first time, right?

Shirlaay 6th May 2010 11:14 AM

yay, i'm so happy for her ^^

njanjayrp 6th May 2010 11:54 AM

Whats wrong with people? This isn't an accomplishment ^^ the other releases in top 3 have been charting for months, Rock'n'Roll Circus will never last 22 weeks on Oricon, let alone the United Charts. In other words I don't see a point of posting this at all. In fact this just shows how weak the Japanese market currently is ^^

DONT MAKE FUN OF JUSTIN BIEBER!

it's not her fault she isn't as developed as other 16 year old singers :D

But yeah great to see Ayu getting attention in Europe. I think seh'd do well there if she realesed something there.

Aditmi Krisnasaki ~II~ 6th May 2010 02:19 PM

EXACTLY.

some people like identity and maxker obviously think its worth falling over. ;) boosting post count maybe?

if i started a thread for every article published on ayumi... :roflmao i think i will do that soon.

waterballoon 6th May 2010 03:50 PM

well it's cool that she's on a Polish article; never mind that she's well known everywhere, or that R'n'R C will never last for 22 weeks like Gaga or Beiber....

OT~yeah i know that of course,i mean shes also popular in Malaysia,in philippines and several other countries, well maybe its just me because we always read the article about they mentioning her popular all over Asia(like a standard format to state Asia haha),otherwise the tittle Asia Tour doesnt make sense either :P

:sarclap

The article is just another way to tell people that Rock'n'Roll Circus reached the top of the United World Album Charts, instead of just posting it in a separate thread. It could just as well be written in Chinese, Japanese, Russian or American. It had not bothered me, it's the content that counts, not what country it is from. It's just a fun addition that it is from a Polish source.

And it has really nothing to do with my post count. If I was interested in something so stupid, then I would have posted a lot and been very active in the random chat-room thread. I've been a member since 2005 and has not even reached 1000 posts. Do you really think I care about such things as post-counts?

There are actually many people who think it's fun to see her being mentioned in Western media, but that does not meen that we fall off our chair for that reason. It's just fun.

Israel, Russia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine...

pepper 6th May 2010 06:57 PM

Oh, my tiny country :D I don't read these portals very often~ One polish singer must read that cause she named her tour "Rock'n'Roll Palace" -____________- and she got... 100 people on the audience and they started to get people without a ticket LOL - music in Poland it's just patethic. (XD)

And wow, they choosed a gorgeous pic.

duque 6th May 2010 07:44 PM

lol if they wanted to use a single song pv...they should have used BALLAD~~~

anyways glad to see she is being recognized out of asia xD

The top 3 is ruled by younger people I guess? GaGa is 23 and Justin is like 15?

pepper 7th May 2010 06:03 PM

I think that is very nice that 31's star can be 1st, not just only the "young , new and fresh".

Then you should definitely check out Krakow or Gdansk. It's my favorite cities in Poland, cheap food, nice hotels, good servicie, and not so dirty and criminalized as in Warszawa.
