Which Asian language do you listen to most?
You can only pick one! This isn't to say any language is better than another, but what do you listen to the most as far as Asian music?
I'm no expert, so I apologize to anyone whose native language was not included. In that case, please feel free to make recommendations of artists who sing in your language, as I'd love to hear. :yes |
Sorry, mods, like my previous poll, I had a tab open and I thought I posted this in the polls subforum. Please move it. >_<;;;
korean :)
I vote for Japanese
I don't think I will listen to Korean as I cannot understand the language & I don't buy the overhype that the media drums up here also it took me a good 4 years & counting to get used to the way Japanese music's like & I don't want to spend that same amount of time & $ on other languages of music again D: |
Japanese. I listen to a lot of korean too, but not nearly as much as i do with japanese.
I listen to Japanese the most. I do occasionally listen to Chinese Mandarin and Korean as well.

Japanese...almost exclusively cept for a few alan songs in Chinese.
Japanese. a little bit of Korean. but that's about it.
i've been listening to J-pop since 2003. K-pop since......last year, lol. i'm definitely more comfortable with J-pop since i'm learning the language as well. but i listen to whatever is out there! |
japanese. it's the first non-english language that i've ever listened to, so i feel the most comfortable with it. i've been listening to it for like..5 years, so it's like a part of me by now, lol. i did listen to korean music 2 years ago, but that was only the wonder girls. i just tried them out since they were popular, but i haven't listened to them since then. i just can't get into k-pop, at all. the language is not appealing to me, and honestly, all i hear about is kpop, so IMO, i think it's a bit overrated. i don't even listen to BoA's korean music, just her japanese material. :P i have no interest in chinese music either (but i do loooove chinese food, if that counts? :laugh).
Japanese and some Korean.
Mostly Japanese, followed by Mandarin, then probably Mongolian, then Cantonese and a tad of Korean.
I even listen to Japanese more than Indonesian :laugh
korean. i don't listen to much of any other asian language except a few japanese/mandarin singers.
Mostly Japanese, then Korean and some Chinese.
English followed by Japanese. thats it
Japanese, I haven't got into the others very much like kpop, I feel i should know Japanese by now lol
Japanese, definitely. I also listen to some Indonesian songs, but only certain appeal to me. Japanese songs dominate my iTunes, but there are more variety in the English artists I listen to :laugh
I only listen to J-Pop. I think it's because I love the country and culture and also language so much, that I'm not interested in other music... XD I also don't listen to englisch music or german music, which is my native language.
I mostly listen to Japanese music
But I do also listen to a lot of Korean and Chinese (Mandarian and a bit of Cantonese) music I also listen to some Thai music |
I listen to japanese only, because I understand bits and pieces of a song but lately I have been listening to SNSDs Oh! album I :heart it, but i think thats as far as I will get in Korean music :D
Mostly Japanese but I do sometimes listen to Chinese and Korean. :)

Japanese :D
but I have a bit of Korean, and very very little Chinese... I really enjoy the Korean language in song...but I havent found a ton of music from there that I like yet...just stuff here and there. |
English and Japanese 50/50. I used to be into a lot of Kpop and Cpop back during my Asian music peak (lol. And that was probably 4-5 years ago), and haven't touched the stuff until about a week ago. I've been listening to a lot of MBLAQ and C.N.Blue in the last week. :laugh
I just find Japanese music to sound more fluid (the words themselves). When I stopped listening to Cpop and tried listening to it again once I though 'how the hell could I listen to this before?' :laugh It's too choppy for me. It just doesn't flow nicely (in my personal opinion as a foreigner). |
I guess Japanese, like most here... Though Cantonese music closely follows
Japanese
And here and there I hear some korean songs. |
Japanese, Korean and then Chinese
depends, i have phases when i listen to chinese cantonese mostly, then
chinese mandarin, right now im listenin to japanese mostly. |
Japanese... It's the language I grew up with mostly! :laugh But I am starting to listen to Korean.

Japanese. I also have some songs in Korean and Chinese, but not nearly as many. I'm open to any of them though, really.
mostly Japanese and Chinese Mandarin. I used to listen Chinese songs since I was a kid..
also some Korean and Cantonese, and Indonesia since I'm Indonesian. |
Japanese by far.
I just listen to some certain korean / chinese mandarin singers. Even though I love the sound of the chinese language! I used to try out new Kpop singer or bands once in a while but I stopped by now. I am a bit confused with their release system. |
Mainly Japanese :)
Japanese. More pleasant to listen to IMO.
1. mandarin/cantonese
2. japanese 3. english 4. korean |
mostly Japanese and little Korean. l can't get to to Korean music much like some said way too overrated and Kpop stans are not helping. as for Asian other languages, I don't listen but I'm open-minded to them.
check my songs in my itouch...
hmm....looks like 70% are japanese, 25% are chinese and 5% are korean |
Japanese and Korean, but I have more japanese songs in my computer/ipod.
Japanese
Japanese is top for me, but is very closely followed by Korean.... I also listen to a bit of Chinese, but I honestly can't tell the difference between Cantonese and Mandarin when hearing it. All I know is Mandarin is much more common around here.
Some of those Asian languages listed on the poll though I haven't even heard of.:P |
Japanese music EVERYWHERE! :D
right now, Korean
but i have more Japanese songs ^^ |
Japanese!!

In the order that I listen to them from most to least! |
Only Japanese :O
I used to listen to Korean though but not anymore. |
i listen to all of them, but Japanese by far is the most. Followed by Korean

When I first started listening to asian music i listened to alot of Japanese but I have gotten into alot of korean groups and singers so I would have to say korean.
My Asian music is 98% Japanese xD
Usually, Japanese, but lately Korean has been close to, if not surpassing Japanese. :D
Japanese, 2nd would be Korean.
It's always been Japanese for me, but lately I've really gotten into Korean music :)
Japanese.
I have more jpop on my ipod but recently I've been listening to a lot more kpop
My: Korea > Japan > Malay > Indonesian
I pick Korean. I listen to most Korean hit songs. Japanese-only Ayu and Kuu can make it through atm :P Malay- my native language. I listen to them rarely. I just listen to them when my friends or my family switch on the radio of the channel they like. other than that, it's no. Indonesian- same as Malay Chinese. I knew one or two songs. But not reli know anything other than that. but atm, i reli love Para Para Sakura by Aaron Kwok (I know it's an old song bt well...) Others, I never listen one. |
I listen mostly to Chinese (Both Mando and Canto)
Japanese would be 2nd mostly Ayu's and alan's music with a little Namie and Ami Suzuki 3rd would be Vietnamese because of Minh Tuyet. I really enjoy her music. I do listen to a few Korean, Indian, and Tagalog songs here and there. |
Korean > Japanese > Chinese
According to my Last.fm and this nation chart thing I have, it's Korean > Japanese > Chinese.
I'm more into J-Pop(Japanese), then K-Pop(Korean) and very less Hindi/Urdu songs... but more into Bollywood movies!!♡
used to be Japanese but massive DLs of Korean Son DamBi, Hyena and SNSD changed it all :bshake
Japanese ^^.. But sometimes Chinese, Korean and Indonesian :)
Nothing but Japanese. Although I've ordered BoA's new Korean one, so that should be interesting.
Mandarin Chinese, especially theme songs :P
When I first answered this I said Japanese
NOw technically I still have so many more Japanese artists in my music library, but recently Korean has been overtaking thanks to the waves of fierce Korean girl groups. |
