Ayu intervenes in Max Matsuura's Twitter feud

There was a little conflict recently between Tohoshinki fans and Matsuura Masato the president of Avex, on twitter.

The conflict started when fans asked him about Tohoshinki. Matsuura tweeted, “Wanting them to get back together is my wish, but not getting back together is their decision.”

Fans were upset by his tweet and said to him, “Don’t you know how many fans would get hurt by words like this?“, “Why don’t you stop tweeting?“, “Stop saying stuff as if you know everything.”

Matsuura tweeted back to the fans again, “Then don’t ask me anything, and don’t believe my words“, “You want me to lie about that?”

Then people who are not Tohoshinki fans tweeted to him, “You are being too immature“, “You should know how effective your words are to fans.”

The twitter exchange became over heated, and Ayumi Hamasaki tweeted on behalf of Matsuura to the Tohoshinki fans.

“Please stop pushing all your anger and sadness only on Masa (Matsuura). Because of his position, he had to know something he didn’t even want to know. Isn’t Masa the same as you (fans)? Who didn’t give up, even after going through all that pain?”.

hmm... I don't understand exactly why Max's tweet was so offensive! I understand what he means...
I feel dumb! Then again I am a Tohoshinki fan, but just a small one, and I haven't updated myself on them... :thud

pommy48 2nd July 2010 03:21 AM

Oh yeah~ I saw someone posting this somewhere here....in the twitter thread?

primavera♥ 2nd July 2010 03:28 AM

Its really so much unecessary anger towards max

He's. Very right.

He can't lie to them anyhow. They should learn how to take a negative statement. And be realistic

Its nice of ayu

taskinillusion 2nd July 2010 03:29 AM

Yeeah I fail to see how his tweet is offensive...?

Calico 2nd July 2010 03:32 AM

oh fan girls.

KarenPang 2nd July 2010 03:33 AM

lol fangirls can be really demanding/over the top , it doesn't apply to just TOHOSHINKI , Johnny's are the same too

I also don't find anything offensive on what Max said . Really , people are making a mountain outta a molehill ~_~

AngelSenshi 2nd July 2010 03:35 AM

So much anger against Max when he really doesnt deserve it! I totally understood his tweets, his replies made loads of sense!

Some people should probably grow up; they're blaming him for things he had no say in and he was actually being honest with them instead of ignoring them! Would it have been better to them if he ignored it?

And good on Ayu for stepping in; at least maybe some people will listen to her. If not, then at least the supportive people will let Max know he's done nothing wrong.

dzinup 2nd July 2010 03:36 AM

I don't find anything offensive in that message!!

People will always find a way to turn the truth into something offensive. I don't blame him for saying what he said, the truth had to come out sometime. I guess that the fans just weren't ready to hear or rather, read the truth. :(

Bigtop 2nd July 2010 03:53 AM

It's another saga about the crisis of Tohoshinki... It's a good thing that Ayu stepped up when the debate got way too hot.

Good job, Ayu! Or is it, really?

I want to refresh my mind about this - what's going on with Tohoshinki for a while, to be specific? And why has there been complaints about Tohoshinki recently?

amorphose 2nd July 2010 03:56 AM

Like I said in the DBSK thread, I totally agree with Ayu here. The DBSK fans overreacted and behaved immaturely. Why ask a question if you can't handle the true answer? I love DBSK and I'm upset about their split, but Max is definitely not the one to blame.

milky_way 2nd July 2010 04:08 AM

LOL @ them getting mad at Max for no reason :laugh

Ayumiko 2nd July 2010 04:14 AM

The fans really overreacted....I don't see anything offensive about his tweet anywhere. I'm sure if Avex can help it, they would keep the group together. They did help bring in big bucks for Avex.

kirei_ayumi 2nd July 2010 04:18 AM

haha, masa the immature one? seems like the fans were immature...they need a life

gallowsCalibrator 2nd July 2010 04:28 AM

I completely agree with Ayu & Max :yes Fangirls are craaaazy, lol :laugh It's so good of Ayu to protect him and stand up for him like that :heart

(another +100000 for my Ayu-respect meter :heart)

AyusakiFan 2nd July 2010 04:31 AM

Thank you for posting this information Karen. This situation was brought to my attention a day or two ago and I was wondering what Matsuura was going to respond and if Ayu was going to intervene. Just as others have said, Matsuura did nothing wrong and I don't find anything he said to be offensive. I understand that the fans are upset about the breakup of Tohoshinki but that was their decision, not Matsuura's. I don't know the whole story but what would Matsuura have even gained by having a hand in them breaking up? It doesn't even make any sense. And I for one was just saying that I hoped Ayu would intervene and I'm so glad she did. As a friend, there is only so long you can sit back and let people bash someone you care about that you know isn't wrong. That shows a lot about her character and it can clearly be seen that she is the type of friend who will definetely back you up if you're in need. Just another reason to love her. Go Ayu!

That's horrible, I feel really bad for Max.

Marseille 2nd July 2010 04:48 AM

I totally agree with ayu. And also, those fans were being immature. Max was just being honest. I don't find anything offensive about his statements

Bigtop 2nd July 2010 05:55 AM

We should remember that SM Entertainment is the one to blame, not Max himself, not even Ayu - she was trying to calm the fans down...

thanx now i know what exactly happen and cause the "chaos" on Max's Twitter but seriously why they have to take it seriously???i didnt find Max's tweet is offensive,he tell the thruth, those fangirls have to learn to be more mature and accept the reality,if you reli want the answer then ask Tohosinki themselves :o

i reli proud of Ayu and proud to be her fans ;)

ストロボ・EdGE 2nd July 2010 06:18 AM

Ayu is such a Max-stan.
:rolleyes :P

Pieces_of_SEVEN 2nd July 2010 06:18 AM

This is stupid...I can't see why they got upset.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 2nd July 2010 06:41 AM

I don't think they should have even answered them... they're just adding more wood to the fire O.o

And I hope those stupid blind tohoshinki fans don't hate ayu now lol that's all.

Kingdom 2nd July 2010 06:44 AM

lol Ayu shouldn't have gotten involved, fangirls/netizens are crazy in general and will start on Ayu next

LOL @ fans! I love Max's "If you don't like the answer, don't ask the question" response xD;

I'd love to see Ayu beat up fan girls! Our AHS Tohoshinki fan girls are cool, but I can't imagine what kind of people are behind those comments from wherever they are. Max was a big factor in their success in the first place. Blinded by idiocy..

Larien 2nd July 2010 07:00 AM

I hope it doesn't turn their anger against Ayu as well. :( I don't understand why they'd become angry at his response, either, but I suppose it's just because they're distraught and disappointed, and they want someone to blame. That their favorite group broke up of their own volition isn't what they want to hear right now, because they don't want to accept the end of Tohoshinki (heck, neither do I! :().

ownsarai 2nd July 2010 07:06 AM

These people talking to Max in this manner, that was just plain rude of them. It's not like he said anything bad or negative, he was just stating the facts, get over it fan girls. I'm glad Ayu stepped in. So what if Ayu gets some bad DBSK fan girl tweets? They will get lost in the sea of tweets from her true, loving fans. Good job Ayu. I support her and Max 100%!

It's not offensive. The man simply told them the truth they're obviously too immature to handle, as seemingly they can't accept the fact that the members of DBSK obviously had issues among themselves.

Honestly i'm not able to see anything offensive.
he said that he'd like, he wished they return together but they don't want.

What's offensive in this? The decision is not taken by Matsura.

The reality is that many fans are so possesed that they loose the capacity to accept negative decisions

y_nathz 2nd July 2010 08:18 AM

I myself is a huge Tohoshinki fan and I respect Max, a lot
It's just wrong to blame Max, it's Tohoshinki's problem with SM, not Avex :(
Max also love the boys, he must be upset too..
I hope the blind fangirls won't hate Ayu for defending Max.. >.>

Mayayu 2nd July 2010 08:43 AM

Max said nothing harsh, lobotomized fangirls should blame the boys for breaking up, and nobody else

'stop acting like you knew everything' tweet is so silly, Max knows a lot more than those crazy fangirls for sure

AyUmIXx 2nd July 2010 08:50 AM

I'm also a huge fans of Tohoshinki..and It's not MAX's fault causing the group's disbandment..
before this, fans were blaming Max for not be able to get the boys back together, when the lawsuit thing started at the 1st place n also when the trio decided to become JYJ..
so i guess the fangirls will still blame Max for whatever bad news coming now and then..
poor Max~

Yoake 2nd July 2010 12:52 PM

Ayu is so kind!!! She defends her friends!!! Love her.

But I don't think Matsuura's words are offensive. Seriously, it's not his fault if the band is dissovled. Some fans are really stupid!

I agree with you too, cuz MAX is the top head of AVEX, even he didn't want to know something, he still need to know it, i know it is sad to know a group is separated to each other(etc.BLUE), but some fans are too overreacted, perhaps they have some reason to go on separation....Anyways, I think AYU's really a sweet angel, she use beautiful and meaningful words to settle down their moods~:cool

Kazeyomi 2nd July 2010 03:03 PM

Oh, I've read something on last.fm about this lol.
Now I understand what's happened D:

There's just one word for call them:

fangirls

Lizzyboo 2nd July 2010 03:27 PM

hm wow, i didnt even know that stuff was going on. I have to agree with just about everyone though, fan girls can be pretty crazy and his tweet was not offensive at all. I'm conflicted with Ayus message though because while I give her props for standing up for max, i hope the toho fans dont gang up on Ayu now as Surreal_rainbow said.

AyUmIXx 2nd July 2010 04:07 PM

yes..i really hope that Toho fangirls won't be mad at Ayu just because what she said was right..

waterballoon 2nd July 2010 04:33 PM

God it's a disgrace really... me being a TVXQ fan too & knowing that such childish & ridiculous fans exist O__O

AyUta 2nd July 2010 05:00 PM

So these fans are called netizens? Where did that name pop up from? I hear it all the time on another forum, but the people on there are always mad at "netizens" because they are so harsh in judging and such.

CHE.R.RY 2nd July 2010 05:38 PM

I think the fans were the ones being immature. Max's tweet wasn't even bad :shrug. How freakin' dumb :rolleyes....

chloeM 2nd July 2010 06:32 PM

if that's offensive, then i don't know what offensive means~

Andrenekoi 2nd July 2010 09:18 PM

I find it ridiculous when fans put their "love" for the artists over their happiness... Toshoshinki members are obviously unhappy about their situation, if not, they woundn't end the band...

Double Ditto to that! :yes

LizBrazil 3rd July 2010 01:19 PM

I don't think fans will start bashing Ayu. Most Toho fans love her for the support she has shown during a-nation (waving the Toho towel) and for saying that she is a fan herself. Most of them are proud that the Queen of Jpop supports the boys.
Also, don't think all Toho fans leave bad comments to Matsuura. International forums have started several projects to show their support to Matsuura.

Some projects:
1) [INFO!] Leave your messages/comments for Max Matsuura-san here! (2009-now)

"Our lovely translators have offered to help post O! member's comments into Max Matsuura-san's blog under an account with the name, OneRedOcean. As he has mentioned before, he reads all the comments. Knowing the amount of support he has shown towards Tohoshinki, here's your chance to show your appreciation to him."

2) [Project] Cassiopeia thanks Matsuura-san! (2010)

"Hey guys,

I've been following Max Matsuura's tweets lately and if you did the same you might have noticed what kind of person he is and how much he did for TVXQ til now.
Even now he's supporting them and hopes that they'll get back together.
Many people write mean comments and accuse him for not doing enough.. or say they're disappointed.
But in my opinion this man did a lot more than anyone! And somehow I feel like he doesn't get enough recognition... :(

He's not only supporting them but also gives us fans answers to some questions.. what nobody has done before.
Okay some answers are not always clear xD but at least he's replying to messages and is not lying to us. (Like other people do -.-)

Therefore we have decided to make a "thank you" - Video! To show our gratitude and cheer him up. :)"

"For everyone who's curious.
We've posted this video on Matsuura-san's twitter and he replied:
http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/8...ixmatsuura.jpg
He also uploaded the video on his blog:
http://ameblo.jp/maxmatsuura/archive1-201004.html
He wrote: 涙がちょちょ切れました。 世界中の東方神起ファンからです。Which means: I had to cry out of happiness and it's because of all of Toho's worldwide fans. (thx Anke for the translation)"

3) [Trans & Request] 091001 Max Matsuura’s Birthday was on October 1st: Can We Send Him A Birthday Message Together? (2009)

y_nathz 3rd July 2010 02:37 PM

Thanks to post that Liz :yes
Only some fans acts dumb, Tohoshinki still have plenty of cool fans who respected Ayu and Max :yes

rakeru 3rd July 2010 03:22 PM

Wow, I can't believe some people. Those fan and non-fan reactions are so dramatic and wholly unnecessary.

ayuayu798 3rd July 2010 03:29 PM

Matsurra message was in no way offensive... Those tohoshinki fans really need to calm the hell down. What was he supposed to do. Beg for forgivness? He doesn't even have a reason to apologize. If anything it should be tohoshinki apologizing or whatever , not him.
These fans need to understand that LIFE happens and not everything is gonna end up the way they want it too. Them nagging like that makes people not want to listen to them, cause it's just annoying!

Lora-Ayu 3rd July 2010 04:25 PM

Max Matsuura was only saying the truth. And I don't find any of his answer as offensive whatsoever.

And Ayu gained more of my respect for standing up for Max.

rusuke 3rd July 2010 04:41 PM

GrrRRrr I don't know why these fans act like this.:( Max didn't said anything offensive or so they think. And it's nice that Ayu is so nice, trying to cool the situation. Max deserves recognition and respect.

"Wanting them to get back together is my wish, but not getting back together is their decision.”

^He said it. It's TOHO's decision not to get back together. Why fans don't blame Tohoshinki themselves?

AyUmIXx 4th July 2010 02:41 AM

YEAP true..not all Toho fans are like that...
only some of them..
so I hope Ayu's fans will not think that all Toho fans are like that :)

baka-ranger 4th July 2010 03:49 AM

Yeah its fans like that that blur my vision into finding all the good fans in the fandom, while I know good fans exist the batshit crazy ones are so overpowering LOL. hence, why I think all Korean fangirls are crazy even though in reality I know that probably most aren't.

I don't know why these particular ones are against Max though, isn't he the one helping the boys. If they did have Avex, they might not even have a company go back to depending on how willing other companies were to allow them in since they kind of jsut sued their old one LOL.

Good for Ayu though, she must know there is a possibility of backlash against her but she still decided to stand up for her friend. These certain fans should get it in their head that it is most likely that these boys will not reunite and try to help them on their new career path rather than just whining about how Max is the evil one prying them apart which makes no sense whatesoever. Obviously Tohoshinki is better as the whole group...in fact the only reason I ever liked the group was because of HoMin, not the other three LOL.

Its hard but they should accept the fact that things with the group aren't going to be the same...I still have a friend at school who's still in serious denial about their break up.

Yeah, not only that I kinda wish Avex had stayed out. i'm so worried that due to fans like these that the drama will be dumped onto and may affect the Avex and/or the artists within it. If some bs happens like fans accusing Avex of keeping the boys from reuniting because OMG they cannot ever ever break up because like ALWAYS KEEP THE FAITH!!111 and they start that whole boycotting/protesting on Avex instead of LSM, I'm just gonna crack it. I don't want Avex to be the new focus for the crazy part of the Cassies to unleash their wrath on.

I mean, before kpop I had never even heard of the term anti-fan, if because of the issues with DBSK people like Max9even not eing an idol) and Ayu gain antis......its just like prz do not be bringing your crazy to Japan and its entertainment industry. Honestly I just wish JYJ had stayed in Korea and signed to a ent-company there instead of going over to Japan. Now it seems the business relationship between the two companies will be so that they most likely won't work together again...;A; I seriously want Soshi to be represented by Avex...but now excuse my lack of better wording....its jsut awkward for them to work together. I mean if Soshi and Ayu got to interact in anyway...bloody ultimate music fandom clash ;A;

gothicayu 5th July 2010 10:05 AM

i feel bad for max too .fans are too harsh on him. its good that dbsk even could make their own decision and should be respected. max have nothing to do with it dbsk separated ( wanted to separate a long time ago before to sign with avex because they were starting to be tention between members but couldnt because of their contract )

i m glad of ayu tweet too .

its actually kind of him to replies fan's questions ...now im affraid because of a bunch of stupid fans he won't reply or say as much anymore

Lady_Eowyn 5th July 2010 02:37 PM

Masato was polite and just stating things the way they are. I just can't believe the answers he got back.

Some people seriously needs to get a life. And maybe a visit or two to the psychiatrist :P

jimex289 10th July 2010 03:44 AM

I guess people expect him to be a miracle-maker of sorts. Even if he forced them to stay together, the chemistry of the group would already be long gone and it'd be a matter of time before they'd dissolve. I'm shocked, disrespecting one of the premier producers in the industry like that. It's as if they think he doesn't know a thing.

Luvia 11th July 2010 09:12 AM

haha i really wonder who are the ones who are being immatured! ask those fans to go home and cry to their mamas. they are really sickening! ask people about their opinion, and then go shoot them down, when the opinion is not to their liking... are they crazy?

kendelle 12th July 2010 04:56 AM

Fangirls are crazy...they don't generate sympathy by being so rude to him...

Do they want Tohoshinki to stay together simply for their sake even if they dislike the time together?

People like that should never call themselves fans.
