It appears that Tetsuya Komuro really did work with Ayu.

His only work with Ayu before this is A song is born.

I'm gonna guess that the song that goes with this will be another Komuro track or a Kikuchi track. She could just have Kikuchi on the 50th since he's worked on two tracks it seems. WHO KNOWS?!

Oooh interesting. I don't find A Song is Born that memorable but it would be good if we got a TK song as good as Namie's I Have Never Seen.

I dunno.. I don't like a lot of his works but I liked what I heard from the preview so I'm still excited to hear it in full.

asib was kind of a snore fest, but considering he only ever composed one song for her, and that was back in 01, I'll give him another shot. lol

ikr!!! What happened to the Kikuchi songs? I thought for sure they'd be the 49th single. Maybe the 50th or maybe they've decided just to use them for album tracks? T.T

I pretty much hate everything composed by that man and judging from the preview, this will be no different.

Still, I'm withholding my FINAL JUDGEMENT (XD) until I can hear the final finished product. I'm very curious about the second song on the single. (There better be one.)

I found A Song is Born to be relatively bland but i trust Ayumi, i know how picky she is and i know she wont release anything less than amazing especially for this trilogy :)

TK is veeeeeeeeerrryyy hit or miss for me - he can do absolute snoozefests, but he can do some really AMAZINGLY amazing songs too.

This right here sounds like it coulda been an old-school globe song, and I really really like it. It makes me happy. <3

I wonder if that explains why I'm not really feeling it... It kind of has the instrumentation of something like RED LINE or older songs from A Song for xx. Those all had to grow on me a lot...

...but a song is born, I've always hated. So I wonder if it's just this composer I don't like. xD

That's quite a long time the last time Komuro worked with Ayu...

With this particular (extremely prolific) composer, you can't tell if you like him or not from these two stylistically similar songs... I do urge you to listen to more of his compositions. His style goes all over the board, and his 90's work is pretty consistently catchy.

Goodness for people that found a song is born bland and boring they might hate this one XD

Anyway. I loved asib especially the lyrics and emotion. A more interesting ballad

For me TK is hit or miss..some I LOVE, others are 'eh.'

Hmmmm well I certainly like A Song is Born, but I'm not too sure about this preview just yet...

I don't mind it but I do agree with some and say that it sounds way too much like her old songs. I'm more a fan of Ayu's newer work (by that I mean MA-Present) so I'm really aquainted with any of the composers before then. :o

^Why? Because TK is a huge composer/producer and it *used to be* considered an honor to work with him.

Also, A Song is Born may not be liked much here, but at the time in Japan it was a very big song, especially with the 9/11 inspiration.

Last time when Komuro worked with her, he pushed her vocals, and it sounds like he's doing it again.

And yeah, like Calico said, A song is born is probably one of Ayu's most famous songs, because it was Komuro song, and because it's about 9/11, and because she sings in really high tone, which many japanese prefer.

That said, I don't like Komuro's compositions... like TRF and globe. I like TRF for some songs, but I think Komuro overdoes the compositions, I like simplier melody...

Anyways, I really really love crossroad preview, because she is singing high again! yay! And melody is great!

I was going to give in and listen to the preview but of course avex took it off. >.<
I like A Song is Born. So I have pretty high hopes for this song. :)

Not very enthusiastic about this preview. The melody's not catchy enough, and instrumentation seems lacking somehow. The latter's probably gonna be tons better in full, but if that melody's going to be the main chorus, I'm a sad fan right here.

Nono, I definitely favor her lower voice! I've never been a fan of high-pitched voices and since Ayu's is extra screechy ... well ... her lower voice is easier for me to listen to : P

I am not listening to the preview yet, but I can say...I don't know what to expect--I didn't really like A Song is born, but who knows? Maybe this song will be awesome!! :)

Oh, and Misa, I LOVE her lower voice!! Her high pitched voice isn't too easy on the ears... But her low voice is gorgeous :heart

^I love Can you celebrate!! The first time i listened to it i didnt like it cause i thought it didnt flow well. But then it got stuck in my head after i downloaded it and i couldnt top humming it!

As for crossroads, not my fav

the crossroad preview sounds like MY ALL/Red Line/Life. which sound alike. the whole guitar/drums heavy, swaying with the song, this is the end of the album/concert "let's give it our best" type of song. not feeling it.

There's something about this song (well the preview) that gets stuck in my head. I listened to it twice when it first came out then deleted it, because it's so LQ but I still get it stuck in my head, it's very memorable to me.

It is basically as Picaflor said. The ending type. She always has to have one doesnt she.
But this still gets stuck in my head. I have appreciation for songs that in the right moments. So this preview is good to me. None of those songs for endings finales, etc are too amazing imo (Who..., MY ALL, Red Line, Winding road, etc)

But they are all great songs. I hope it can be same for crossroad. I hope our little composer struck gold with this one

I don't get the "ending" feeling from the song at all to be honest. So far, I can't imagine it being one of those songs she uses at the end of her concerts.

It's still stuck in my head. I find myself humming it already.

But someone mentioned how one of his songs didn't really flow and I feel it here too only it's not so horrible.
