I LOL at the Tegoshi being a girl , he sadly looks like one to me now & the picture accompanied by the caption is not helping either .__. I sure hope BE FUNKY ! will get a physical single release soon man . I'm quite sure something around Aug if not early Sept will be out if not they wouldn't be touring Osaka & Tokyo in Sept for nothing , it wouldn't make any sense to me |

I'm not sure how much one in a million has already been discussed in the previous thread, but I'll just drop in my two cents :
I think it's pretty obvious now that Johnny's is going Western with some groups XD. Jin's songs are already very Western and KAT-TUN's recent songs also had a bit of a Western song. And this ... well this could've been song by the Backstreet Boys as well as Yamapi. I'm not saying it's a bad song per se, but ... it's kinda disappointing. EDIT : Also, I don't want to piss anyone off, I'm just talking possibilities here, but does anyone think Yamapi might be going solo as well? His solo output is almost as big as News' right now and he definitely seems to be the focus of the group. Ryo has got Kanjani 8, Tegoshi and Masuda have other possibilities ... and the other members, well, does anyone outside of NEWS' core fangroup even know who they are? |

Just watched the perf, Karen! Massu is so cute <3
It's really annoying though because Massu is the main vocals for the song and yet Yamapi is placed in the middle and in a front man position. Sheesh. |

will edit my thoughts about yamapi's PV later. edit: is it just me or can you hear a girl's voice singing the background during the chorus? :P but yea, i think i really like the song better after hearing it in HQ from the PV. as for the PV, call me crazy but...i liked it :laugh i mean, i don't love it like crazy, but i enjoyed it. i thought the CG in the back of hoodie!yamapi was pretty cool, lol. i thought yamapi himself looked amazing as well. i think i understand the whole story of the PV. i think the girl yamapi liked was connected to that guy in that suit, but she went with yamapi instead of him at the end. so in a way it was like a small love triangle? :shrug i dunno, lol. but although much wasn't done in the PV, you can totally tell that it was on a high-ish budget. i love yamapi and all, but he shouldn't be the only one to actually get high budget PVs nowadays :P whatever, enough of my rambling. now i wanna see how the live performances will look like. i hope yamapi will dance like he did for Loveless performances. |

hmmm...the PV isn't something spectacular, but decent. i don't have a problem with JE going "americanized" because i don't think they are...just Jin Akanishi & i think he does it better. with YamaPi being his friend, it always seems like he's getting influences from him. KAT-TUN is pretty much the outlier in JE. everyone else in JE is very J-pop, imho, and i don't see it changing to be "americanized." i can't see Arashi or KANJANI8 doing what KAT-TUN/Jin does...
but the argument about the group itself. i think from the start, NEWS has been, well, erratic. they had 9 members...then 8...then 7...then 6. i always got the sense that because of these changes in their early career & these incidents were caught in the public as a national debuted JE group, they never got to make it big as a group. sure, they are somewhat popular, but i honestly think they could have been bigger. YamaPi has always been a fan favorite, but since NEWS hasn't matched up to his level, i think JE is making up for it by making him release solo material. i wouldn't be surprised if NEWS broke up in the long run, but i think YamaPi wouldn't do that to his group now since he is leader. and unlike Jin, he doesn't seem to want a career outside Japan. i mean, JE treats him pretty well since he is their golden child, LMAO. |

Now if World is yours/My Dear is the A-side for the single... My Dear, like I said, would be nice without the autotune and the perpetual I LOVE YOU FOREVERRRRR and World is yours sounds like a really sweet song. So much better than those self-composed B-sides on Daite Senorita.

see , sometimes simplicity is at its best . You don't need extra stuff like autotune to be included in a song which in this case , it kinda backfired for My Dear Thankfully , World is yours was probably the 1 spark of fire I was looking for in One in a million . At least in here I feel Yamapi didn't tried so hard to fit in |

i actually love maki and yamapi together. i'd love if it if they would get married someday, LOL. i know, it's not gonna happen, but in my eyes, they make a good couple. keiko kitagawa also fits with yamapi, too. :tipsy

As for YamaPi's CDTV perf, I think he was actually singing some of it. Especially since on the cd, it sounds like "baby ah wee ohvah" and on CDTV, it was like "overr" lol plus the auto-tune stuff... itz hard to tell... |
i love NEWS alot, so i'd be heartbroken if they ever broke up and yamapi decides to just go solo instead. i wouldn't mind that though, cause for some reason, i love yamapi's solo music and i'm a fan of his as well. but i'd still miss NEWS cause i like all the members :yes i doubt they'd break up within the next year, though. hopefully we're not reading too much into this.
speaking of yamapi, i heard the whole single, and i love all the songs (my least favorite is Flavor Favor for you, though). World is yours is pretty nice and i LOVE My Dear :P that song could have been an a-side, but it's okay. one in a million is too catchy for me to hate it :laugh |

NEWS's contract with Kose also ended last year or so , after Ueto Aya took over

I actually really like Kitagawa Keiko (not the case for other leading ladies with YamaPi) but hopefully YamaPi would pick a girl that knows her limits with alcohol. lol Especially since I hear he drinks strong stuff. I love that he would sit in public instead of private rooms. I like to think that he is being chivalrous that way ^^ *watching YamaPi in Propose Daisakusen* I got an email from cdjapan telling me my copy of One in a Million is on its way to me! ^^ |

One of the reasons I don't like Yamapi's solo single (besides the songs just being plain boring) is the fact that I'm bitter that NEWS didn't get a new one, which they deserve. I've no idea if Be Funky is going to be a single or not but I really wish they'd release something as a group :(

BE FUNKY! might be a totally random song with a tie in that's sung by NEWS and would be released in a period of 2 albums. Like SNOW EXPRESS, just the SNOW EXPRESS didn't have a tie-in. Anything's possible.
Watched Yamapi's SHORT BUT SWEET concert, it was a bore. His SNOW EXPRESS performance was quite interesting though. |
