So is Miliyah worth paying attention to? I know I've heard Sayonara Baby but I've forgotten about her and didn't if she has equally or better songs.

If you liked SAYONARA Baby, then you will most likely like everything she's been releasing since this single. Especially BYE BYE, SENSATION and WHY/Destiny. I think you should try out her new album HEAVEN when it'll be out (soon soon! ~~)

That is my plan: waiting for HEAVEN to come out.

Her past few albums have been really enjoyable: RING is one of my favorites. I doubt you'll enjoy her debut album - Diamond Princess + RING are probably her best in terms of general appeal

What's with all the hate for Rose? o.O

The singles were all very strong songs and there are some very good 90's style pop songs on there. I agree it might not be as modern and hip as her other albums, but I don't see why everyone's so quick to write it off D :

EDIT: 'Endless Love' and 'I miss you' are nice, but sadly the other 2 sound too generic to me. And I'm sick of her 'I love you, I want to see you' lyrics, they're starting to get whiny XD;

I heard the leaks and I like "Endless Love" and "I miss you" the most. I hope other 8 new songs will be even better.

Sadly the new songs aren't getting me as much as RINGs last year.:(
I like Baby "I See You feat. VERBAL (m-flo)" and "I miss you" best so far. "I miss you" has a great melody!

The new covers... are so much worse then the Ring ones. I actually liked those.

I'm not going to listen until I can hear the first album, but I'm really scared it'll sound just like RING, more of the same, but then not as good. I'm hoping she'll have a few surprises on there, like a more soul-inspired ballad or a dance song with a strong beat. I want to be surprised!

So I'm kind of new to Miliyah's music, but I have her BYE BYE, Last Love and WHY single downloaded and I really like most of the songs on those singles, especially BYE BYE and Last Love. BYE BYE is my favorite song from her so far. I still need to listen to RING. Anyway! I watched the XOXO PV too and it's so weird lol, I didn't really like it but she looked like she was having fun and I absolutely love the song!

I have a question, does Miliyah write lyrics to all of her songs or just some?

I listened to it! I listened to RING last night too and not many songs on it stuck out to me, unfortunately. HEAVEN has more songs that I really love. My favorites are BYE BYE, Last Love, I miss you, X.O.X.O, 空, FREE, B.F.F., Silent Ocean, and 終わりなき哀しみ

HEAVEN is just amazing! my favorite album tracks: X.O.X.O., Endless Love, I miss you, HEAVEN, FREE, B.F.F., and Don't wanna let go. i find this album to be sooo much better than Ring cause IMO, it has the best single songs and great album tracks as well. :yes i forgot about taku and DAISHI DANCE producing, so when i heard Endless Love, the music sounded really familiar to me! now i know why :P but I miss you didn't sound like DAISHI DANCE at first listen, i gotta hear it again. i only heard one song by them, anyway, which was mika nakashima's memory.

I really despise Miliyah's facial expressions, I hope the whole photo book isn't full of bad expressions and has some nice pics. The whole theme of the shoot looks nice (I'm a fan of outdoor shoots), it's just her expressions that ruin the pics.

It's just so refreshing to see someone with some personal style.

I love how Miliyah's looks are hit or miss. It adds some fun. Personally, I'd rather look at an interesting photo with weird fashion than a safe, boring photo with safe, boring fashion.


I haven't gone to Shibuya yet to get my copy yet so I haven't listened to it :(

I've been listening to the new album all day, I really don't feel like listening to anything but these songs. I'm so addicted to it omg.

Another question, is Miliyah fluent in English? Her English sounds really good in her songs.

Silent Ocean blew me away. I really, really love it.

I don't know if she's fluent, but her pronunciation is very good.

Don't forget, being able to pronounce a few words or snippets of sentences properly doesn't mean you're capable of speaking a language fluently : P

I know that just because she can sound good saying some things in English it doesn't mean she's fluent, but I'm curious if she is.

I really like B.F.F. :heart Judging by the title I thought it was gonna be a lame cutesy song, but the lyrics are actually about people pretending to be friends, backstabbers etc.

I'm curious too. Also, she did incorporate some English "slang"(not really, but oh well) into her songs. X.O.X.O has A.S.A.P. in it, for example. I'm not sure if that's a common expression in Japan as well, but it just sounded to me like she does know her stuff...

I must say that I also really like B.F.F. It's kind of a big thing for me, since I'm usually not that into J-R'n'B (if that's what it's called, I don't know). But I seriously am liking this album more and more. It's just as good as RING, if not even better.

This album really surprised me because after Ring, I hated the Why single and kind of stopped paying attention to her.

But... I :heart it! It is her best yet, even better than Ring and Tokyo Star! I love "Free" and "Sora" the most but idk.

And to answer your questions, Miliyah is not completely fluent in English but she hangs out with the group of Japanese artists (Thelma Aoyama, BENI) who ARE fluent in English so she probably picked a lot up from them as far as pronunciation goes. She can probably speak conversational English.

I am just right now listening to HEAVEN, and I must say I prefer Ring more. It's just that I can't get into new tracks, they can't keep my attention...

^ Aw really? I feel the opposite. I'm so addicted to all of the songs and can't stop listening to them. I definitely prefer this album over RING. I'm such a huge Miliyah fan now and I only just started listening to her music like a week or so ago :laugh I recently watched her RING tour and was just so amazed. That tour made her grow on me so much, I'm amazed how perfect she can sound live. At times I thought she was lipsynching but I think she sounds so perfect just because she's really THAT amazing :P. I also watched most of her PV's and was seriously impressed. "Last Love", "BYE BYE", "Sotsugyou", and "Destiny" are my favorites.

Random, but does anyone else think she looks amazing in red lipstick, like the shades in the "WHY" and "BYE BYE" PV's? I think she looks amazing, and I usually don't think many people can pull that color off.

^ Sometimes I feel she looks very nice with red lipstick but sometime she looks weird , But I like her red lipstick most of the time especially in "BYE BYE" PV

And I received "HEAVEN+DVD LTD ED" today the package looks awesome :weep and the photobook I can scan it if anyone interests :D

I do agree that it gets slightly annoying, the whole "looking sad in every picture" thing. I LONG for a picture were she actually smiles!

I actually don't mind the last 2 scans (still don't like the cover). Her expression in the scans are the same but it's not too extreme to me, plus she's wearing that red lipstick that looks really good on her.

Is it just me or does Miliyah have ridiculously small hands? I notice it a lot when watching her tours/live performances. I think it's cute though :laugh

About the same size as me (I've got even shorter fingers though) and people always say I've got small hands :yes

Usually I find Ayu's hands ridiculously huge (not ugly, just huge) and her fingers are like crazy long.

Hm, I don't like that lipstick on her at all. I tend to think darker shades doesn't suit those with somewhat undefinded lips.

I think ayu's hands are normal sized, her toes are what's long (feel weird knowing this, but the girl likes to post close ups of her feet in TA sometimes :laugh)

Anyway, I just think the shade looks really good! I think her lips are her best feature and it draws attention to them.

In most pics, you don't notice the size of Ayu's hands, but check out the SECRET CD+DVD cover one more time, and you'll see what I'm talking about :)
Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'd rather have bigger hands, than these midget ones I've been born with :grumpy

Anyway, I want to ask if anyone uploaded the live perfomances that came with the CD+DVD edition? I never bought the album...ran out of money, which seems to happen a lot these days T__T

^ They look a little bigger than usual there, but anywhere else they look normal sized to me. Maybe since yours are so small they seem extra large to you or something? lol but I don't see anything bad about having small hands!

Thats funny....my mom also commented on how huge Ayu's hands are. I guess it must just be that everything else about her is so small, her hands tend to look unnaturally large :laugh.

I love her music, but I never like the way she looks live. She has these awkward outfits that make her look like a doll and hide her figure and it's kinda of weird ...

I wish she had more lives like the MTV World Stage VMAJ 2010 one! The Bye Bye and Sayonara Baby performances there are just awesome!
