OMFG!!!
thanks sooooo much for thiis *O*!! I didn't know I could love this song more that I actually do *O* |
That is SO cool! I can't see the vid above, but I youtubed it, and started freaking out. I actually really love the arrangement in the film, though I appreciate the changes that Free & Easy made to it. Now I can't stop listening to either. I wonder if DAI/the arranger expected many people to make the connection, or if it was meant to be a very elusive allusion.

Omg, that's just epic! Thank you so much for sharing this. I have always loved the Free & Easy period!
|
w(゚o゚)w!! thank you so much for sharing this, it's one of my fav songs, hope some day ayu to perform it live again!!
|
Wow! Thanks for this!
But I wonder if the man who composed this song needed a credit from avex or not necessarily? |
muchas gracias!!!!!!!! the messenger is one of my favourite movies (I'm a big fan of Milla Jovovich), but it has been a lot of time since the last time I watched to it.
In fact, when I started listening to free&easy there was "something" that it felt familiar for me but I couln't know what it was. But now, thanks to you, I discovered it!! So it was because of the movie!! And also now finally I can understand the lyrics of the song^^ Arigato!! |
Beautiful. Always one of my Favs from ayu. She should write more about historical figures
I remember learning of Joan when I was 10 she's always been an inspiration in a sense |

I didn't know she taken inspiration from this song, but it fits well with the whole Joan of Arc theme single. Thanks for sharing this! |
I've known of this for years.
HAL were the arrangers of Free & Easy. On their old website, one of the members listed composer Eric Serra (a frequent contributor with director Luc Besson and the composer of the music in The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc) as an influence. Eric Serra was never credited on the Free & Easy single or the RAINBOW album for the complete & total lifting of the first 35 seconds of this song. This was not a legal thing that HAL did, and I've been angry about it for pretty much forever, as I'm a big fan of Eric Serra's very creative and beautiful work. But, meh, what can you do. ALOT of people have noticed that the tracks are exactly the same but on two different keys, but nothing was ever done about it. And now it's been eight years, so it's probably water under the bridge if Eric Serra was ever made aware of this. But still. Grrr. |
