Nishikawa Takanori & Natsuna to star in “Okusama wa 18sai” remake

Singer Nishikawa Takanori (T.M.Revolution) will be starring in the upcoming drama, “Okusama wa 18sai“, and this will be the first drama in which Nishikawa is the lead star.

“Okusama wa 18sai” is a remake of a big hit drama (originally a manga written by Kimura Miyoko) from 1970, starring Ishidate Tetsuo, who has since passed away in 2007, and Okazaki Yuki. It was extremely popular back when it first released, and the remake is looking to achieve similar results.

It’s a love comedy between a high school Japanese teacher and a student who are secretly a married couple. Nishikawa will be playing the teacher, Takagi Tetsuya, while actress Natsuna plays the wife/student, Asuka. According to the participants, it will re-create the appeal of the original, but also aim to modernize it.

There will be a total of four episodes for the drama, and it will start on March 27th on “Fuji Television TWO“.

T.M. Revolution to Turn Concert Into Charity Event
 

Takanori Nishikawa revealed on Twitter on Sunday that he is planning a charity event for victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

T.M. Revolution was already scheduled to hold a live concert at the Zepp Tokyo event hall on March 30. He is now planning to stream the event live for free. In addition, all proceeds from the concert and its tickets will be donated to charity. There will be charity auctions and a donation booth set up.

The singer said, "We are recruiting people, websites, and auction sites who will sponsor the video and transmitting equipment." He added, "I still don't know how feasible this is at all, but I'm going to start moving with all my might to face the problems that come our way to get this started."

T.M. Revolution sang theme songs for Sengoku Basara Two, Bleach: Jigoku-hen, D.Gray-man, Darker than BLACK, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Rurouni Kenshin, and Soul Eater.

T.M.Revolution’s new song becomes the theme for “BASARA” movie

T.M.Revolution announced on his official website that he will be providing the theme song to the upcoming “BASARA” movie adaptation!

The song, titled “FLAGS”, will begin appearing in previews for the “BASARA” movie starting on April 8th, which fans will be able to check out through the movie’s official website. The film itself hits theaters on June 4th.

Nishikawa Takanori to hold “Inazuma Rock Fes” in September

Open-air rock festival, “Inazuma Rock Fes 2011“, hosted by Nishikawa Takanori, will be held on September 17th and 18th at Karasuma Peninsula Shibafu Hiroba (lawn open space) in Shiga Prefecture.

This is the third year for “Inazuma Rock Fes”, and Nishikawa, who is from Shiga prefecture, started this community-based festival with the local government for the purposes of environmental protection for Lake Biwa and regional development.

Every year, the artists who are also from Shiga, and artists who are friends with Nishikawa, make appearances.

The first announcement of artist line-up will be revealed in May.

“Shin Domoto Kyoudai” to welcome new cast members to the show

KinKi Kids‘ music variety show, “Shin Domoto Kyoudai” (Sun at 11:15 PM), will celebrate its 10th year anniversary since they started the broadcast, and they will renew the show with new talent.

In the episode on April 24th, Brother Tom, Fukada Kyoko, and HALCALI’s YUCALI and HALCA will graduate from the show, and Makihara Noriyuki, Nishikawa Takanori, and AKB48 member Takahashi Minami will be added as the new members starting on May 8th. Those three members will participate as a chorus on the live corner, as well as on its new corner, “Uso Hon Domoto”, in which they seek to find out if the guest’s episode is true or false.

The first guest after the renewal will be a singer, Tokunaga Hideaki, and Takahashi will perform a duet with him.

T.M. Revolution to sing for new “Sengoku BASARA” game again!

T.M. Revolution’s new song “FLAGS” has been chosen as the theme song for the upcoming Sony PSP game, “Sengoku BASARA Chronicle Heroes” (Capcom) which is scheduled to be released on July 21st. As we reported previously, the new song “FLAGS” will also be the theme song for its anime film version “Sengoku BASARA Gekijouban” (will be released on June 4th), therefore, he will be singing for both game and anime film.

T.M.R has sung the series’ theme songs several times; other artists who also sang the theme song for the series include, “corsswise” (for “Sengoku BASARA” and “Sengoku BASARA X”), “Naked arms” (for “Sengoku BASARA 3″), “SWORD SUMMIT” (for anime “Sengoku BASARA Ni”), and Nishikawa Takanori’s other project ”abingdon boys school“.

The release day for “FLAGS” will be announced at a later date.

T.M.Revolution to appear in musical, “ROCK OF AGES”

Nishikawa Takanori – also known as T.M.Revolution – announced on his official website that he will be appearing in the musical, “ROCK OF AGES“!

The rock singer’s been cast as the main lead, and so he’ll revisit classic rock hits from Bon Jovi, Journey, Europe, and many more in celebration of the Broadway musical’s forty-fifth anniversary.

The musical will be performed from October 28th to November 6th at the Tokyo Kokusai Forum. Further details have yet to be announced.

The reason why abs is inactive atm is because it's T.M.Revolution's 15th anniversary so Takanori is focussing on that... they might be back next year and also they'll probably be performing @ inazuma rock fes 2011 ^^

It's not released on DVD, just a tv broadcast, so these lives were taken from the tv broadcast, sadly... I'd love to see Live Revolution '05 on DVD :(

I don't think Takanori will ever abandon ABS. He's just focusing on his solo and it's been a long time since he has released an album, right? Besides, I refuse to let him abandon ABS until I see a live concert. After watching their DVDs... it's a must!
