I'm just so pleased with these photos... They're so meaningful. I think that if you look at them for what they're supposed to be representing (sexual power) you might like them.

Nami's never done anything like this before in her career, which is why so many of you are so shocked, which I can understand. Unlike Koda Kumi, Nami hasn't eased us into the idea of her being "sexual" or "ero-kakkoi" (can't spell). I can honestly say that NO ONE would be the slightest bit surprised if Koda Kumi did these photos. They would just be like "Hey look. Another Koda Kumi book."

It saddens me to read that people are turning away from Nami just because of decision she decided to make in her career. This isn't a "new image" for her, and I highly doubt she'd stick to it even if it was (she switches styles WAY too much). This is just to promote a photobook, with photos taken by a WORLD famous photographer. You've seen him on "America's Next Top Model" and "Australia's Next Top Model."

SORRY FOR TYPING SUCH A BIG REPLY! LOL XD

But yeah. Can people just tell me why they don't like it :)

I'm still going to follow Nami's music career, I'm just not really into seeing her naked. I'm not a very sexual being (so to say) so it's not my kind of thing. :shrug

i feel the same way! :yes i've gotten used to her UNIVERSAL music by now, so i'm still going to follow her even though i do think her sony days might be a bit better, lol. if i can do that, then i can also continue following nami even if she just went for a more "sexual" look for a period of time. just because this look may not be some people's preference, doesn't really mean we hate nami and will never listen to her ever again. :P

AyUta 19th December 2010 07:15 PM

^^ Ditto.

Beauty4123 19th December 2010 09:05 PM

kinda straying away from those pictures....here's a new pic of nami from her twitter:
http://i53.tinypic.com/1z4h7ht.jpg
that's the nami i love to see! :P :heart

ayurocks20 19th December 2010 11:44 PM

Ooooh Okay :D I understand now haha :)

^^^ AND YES :) She looks pretty there. I think that she's filming her PV at the time... I'm not sure. She was talking about it last night on twitter a lot ... Hmm.

Mirai Noah 20th December 2010 06:19 PM

Ooo, I really like that color hair on her! And nice sunglasses XD

AyUta 20th December 2010 06:43 PM

Me too, it's pretty!

koumori 21st December 2010 02:54 AM

She really suits that hair! :laugh Like, the fringe and colour is perfect..skin flawless..and her sunglasses are awesome.

:heart

AyUta 21st December 2010 03:01 AM

^ How I wish I had flawless skin like that >.>

ayurocks20 21st December 2010 05:29 AM

I KNOW RIGHT? She's got like... Mily-cream skin... So perfect >.<

ayurocks20 23rd December 2010 01:31 PM

FULL SONG: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xg8...sic#from=embed

I seriously think this single is going to be a MASSIVE hit. =D It's just... so... PERFECT!

Beauty4123 23rd December 2010 07:17 PM

maybe it's because i dislike k-pop, but i don't love this song. nami's practically rapping throughout the whole song. only the chorus has her singing. not trying to be mean, but i just really don't like kpop, lol. sorry nami.

Mirai Noah 23rd December 2010 07:27 PM

I like K-Pop, but I dislike rap so... I really only like the singing parts of the song.

freedreamer 24th December 2010 01:15 AM

this was a great song in K-POP..and i really love her rap :)

NintendoHTF1242 24th December 2010 02:11 AM

The song isn't that bad actually, which is surprising. Her voice in the chorus is so beautiful. The rapping wasn't that bad either. Not bad Nami, not bad.

ayurocks20 24th December 2010 02:32 AM

I love the whole thing. It's like the perfect song for her. The PV is going to be amazing. Full of dancing. Haha. Can't wait =D

AyUta 24th December 2010 07:32 PM

The song is alright, I just wish there was less rapping and more beautiful singing, like the chorus :heart

ayurocks20 5th January 2011 09:22 AM

NEW INFORMATION:

The album, "READY", will feature a DVD containing the PV's and Making Of. (Not sure how many). It will also come with a photo-booklet, (probably like the one that came with Speciality LTD).

The album will feature a song with the KPOP Group "Girl's Day". It is unknown if this will be another cover or an original song.

Nami has decided to put more input into the album and it is going to have a heavier dance-feel to it, and will be inspired by KPOP bands such as T-ara and 2NE1 due to Nami being a fan of them.

So far, the songs confirmed to feature on the album are:

Missing You-Time To Love- Feat. (SUPERNOVA).
MY STYLE
(TBA) Feat. Girl's Day.

I'm excited! =D What do you guys think? :)

NintendoHTF1242 5th January 2011 10:35 PM

lol she must really be into the K-Pop phase in Japan at the moment.

AyUta 7th January 2011 01:35 AM

Sounds great Nami! :)

Beauty4123 8th January 2011 03:10 AM

at least the PV's nice. :P i love nami's look! it's kinda pointless to feature those rappers in the song, when they don't even appear in the PV, though.

06 15.00 Tamaki Nami - Missing You ~Time To Love~ feat. KWANGSOO, JIHYUK, GEONIL

ScottiScittles 8th January 2011 08:28 AM

I actually think the whole thing is bad.

She's wearing cheap clothes.
The camera used is obviously a cheap camera.
The area isn't eye-catching.
The tank looks stupid and pointless.
The dancers aren't even wearing any outfits. They're wearing potato sacks.
The dancing is stupid and doesn't go with the song.
The makeup is really pathetic and she looks too pale.
There isn't enough diversity (there's two different shots of her. Yay).
Choshinsei aren't even in the music video. Why? Were they too busy being PROMOTED!
It looks awkward when you can't see the guys rapping and Nami is just dancing alone looking like an idiot.
It starts off in a really awkward way.
The rose-flower-thing next to the tank looks like it was made of paper.
The rose is pointless.
There's no reason for anything represented.
The editing is atrocious. They cut it out for random shots of things we don't need to look at.

All in all, a terrible music video and quite possibly her worst yet.

I can't see this single getting in the top #100 or #200.

She might get #150 if she's lucky. If she's REALLY lucky.

ayurocks20 8th January 2011 10:53 AM

I don't like it. This is the first time I've ever said this. I'm disappointed. It's so easy to get this song to become popular. But yeah.

This is just a hideous music video. In more than one aspect I'm sure :/

AyUta 8th January 2011 05:21 PM

I don't like the style she's using in it =/ Still love the song though.

Beauty4123 10th January 2011 01:40 AM

missing you~TTL~ (photo version) PV preview:

ayurocks20 10th January 2011 11:58 AM

^ ^ Why didn't they film the PV when taking those photos? So that it didn't look ugly! The song only needs a little dancing. I don't see the point on the "Photo Version". Nobody is going to flipping see it.

Chandrachan 10th January 2011 05:38 PM

I like the song it's really good - I'm not too sure about the PV and Nami's look :(

Well thats.... not toooooo bad >.< poor Nami chan...

And my favorite release by her recently its omoide ni naru no? Its such a good ballad upbeat song! I really loved it :3

NintendoHTF1242 15th March 2011 03:55 AM

For me, her best single since Graduation is Moshimo Negai ga... (but I'm a sucker for R&B piano driven ballads).

wildconnetta 15th March 2011 11:35 PM

I feel sorry for Nami. She used to be really popular, and then she changed labels and started sucking. Hard. I mean, the original version of TTL (By T-ara and Supernova) is much better than Nami's. I'm sorry but, my love for her is over.

NintendoHTF1242 16th March 2011 04:45 AM

^ I've never heard the original by T-ara, but I think the chorus in Nami's version is absolutely beautiful.

But yes, ever since she switched labels, things have only been bad for her chart wise. I actually feel bad for her. But hey, it's life. What can you do? Some stars stay, and some stars fade.

freedreamer 16th March 2011 05:22 AM

I tought Girlie Night was a really nice song..
but yea, sad for her. She was really big during all the Gundam stuff

AyumiAi 16th March 2011 06:08 PM

Poor nami x.x but yea she seems to have lost her magic

ayurocks20 1st April 2011 04:21 PM

You have to keep in mind that both the album and single had literally no promotion besides "NEO Gekkan".

Missing You wasn't a tie-in for anything at all. So therefore only Nami fans would know about it. It's music video didn't air until 2 weeks after the single was released. The albums promotional song "Girlie Night" managed to rank at #4 on Yahoo's Music Download Japan (similar to Chaku-Uta) the only reason it didn't rank well on recochoku is because it wasn't available for download from there until the album was finally released.

The album sold out twice on CDJapan (which isn't counted on Oricon sales) as well as being the #2 most ordered limited album from outside asia on HMV Japan.

Although Oricon reports 1,000 or so sales. These sales are strictly from only a few areas which Nami doesn't sell well in. The actual sales would probably be around 5,000-10,000 due to the amount of websites (even Amazon & Tower Records Online) reporting copies selling out.

The DVD managed to reach as high as #18 on the DVD charts with it's debut and sold well over 3,000 copies. Great considering STEP DVD sold 600 or so copies. Not only that but the DVD was the #2 most pre-ordered DVD on HMV Japan.

The booklet (it's sales aren't counted on Oricon) have been reported to sell over 120,000 copies. The Limited Edition is currently out of stock (permanently) on CDJapan. The HMV store only has a few copies left. And both sites go down to "2 copies left" within weeks of re-stocking. So I'd estimate the DVD & Booklet together would have sold a little over 200,000 copies.

The music video (photo version) of Missing You received over 9 million views on recochoku within 2 days of it's release. This was reported by the recochoku website itself.

So I think it's unfair to say that her album 'flopped'. Even on HMV store. It is listed as her 3rd best selling item.

The reason she is having an Asia Tour is because of the amount of money she has made from her NEO Gekkan DVD&Booklet. The Asia Tour will most likely be released on DVD once Nami returns with more power. She will now, definitely, recieve serious promotion from UNIVERSAL-J.

Nami and Universal J are aware of how popular she used to be. They both know that she has what it takes to become HUGE. They aren't going to waste her talents.

: )

I have just bought Nami Tamaki - Graduation ~Singles~ CD+DVD and I'm a new fan

has her music really changed so much after she has changed her label ?

Beauty4123 21st June 2011 09:23 PM

her music became more R&B type stuff (compared to electro/techno-ish songs on "Don't Stay"). but just recently she's been having a kpop phase or something, i guess, lol. i haven't been following her since like...january. but she had a new album this year, called "READY", but i think it's more on the kpop style side as well. since that album's release, i have no idea what she's up to. but i follow her on twitter anyway, lol. :P

overall, her music has really changed compared to when she was on Sony. it's really sad because i lose so much interest in her lately. :(

Never heard of this label so I don't know if this is good news or not.

ayurocks20 17th November 2011 02:37 AM

I think we need a new thread for this... but Nami's 21st single has been announced. It comes in a CD & DVD Edition and will be released on the 25th of January, 2012.

Title: LADY MIND

Track-list:
01. LADY MIND
02. UNKNOWN
03. LADY MIND -Instrumental-
04. UNKNOWN

DVD:
01. LADY MIND PV (Other content TBA)

Info: http://www.tsutaya.co.jp/works/20298683.html

The single is also amazingly priced! It's 1,200 for the Regular Edition and 1,500 for the CD+DVD Limited Edition. This is also Nami's first CD/DVD single release since Moshimo Negai Ga 2 years ago!

Nami has said the song will follow in her new sound - "KPOP-styled-Ero-Kawaii"-. She recently released an album this year titled 'READY' which also used this style. However, with a new label and definitely better promotion, Nami might just climb back up the charts. I don't know what to expect from this single, but I'm sure it will do perfectly fine.

Nami also stated on twitter that she has finished filming the PV for the single. The shoot for the PV lasted from 7AM until 12AM the next day! It's said to be loaded with dance-choreography by SHUN. For those who don't know, Shun choreographed her dances for 'Get Wild', 'Result', 'Brightdown', 'My Way,' & everyones favourite... REASON! He also choreographed her "MY GRADUATION" concert.

I hope Teichiku Records doesn't screw her over!

Beauty4123 17th November 2011 03:24 AM

i really like the title! looking forward to seeing the covers. :D

it's also nice to see nami back with music, and i hope the PV will be amazing. :P i love all the dances that SHUN has choreographed for nami.

Some of you Ayumi, BoA, Kumi, Namie, etc. fans might appreciate Shinichi's input into her new single. Shinichi Osawa is a very famous Japanese Producer who works with and is signed by Avex Trax. The reason Nami was able to use him on her new single is because she's close friends with Ami Suzuki, another Avex singer. Shinichi has produced songs for Namie Amuro and even provided a few remixes for some of Ayumi Hamasaki's songs like 'Startin'. The PV is also being directed by someone who has worked with Namie Amuro and Koda Kumi, but his name is yet to be revealed.

IMPERIAL RECORDS has said that they hope to boost Nami to the top with this release and are putting a lot of effort into it. It's said that the song will use a sharp PV loaded with Gundam-song-styled dancing.

jeffycue 22nd November 2011 12:37 AM

I love her new look! Can't wait for the song and PV!

Lady~Deviance 28th November 2011 03:54 PM

I really hope she manages to jump back into the spotlight again. She has amazing dancing skills and I adore her vocal abilities. Time will tell...

ayurocks20 5th December 2011 08:49 AM

NEW PV!

I love the PV. Much better debut than GMU. This really is a completely different artist. I'm not sure what I think about the song... was expecting something with a bit more mmph to it. It'll grow on me.

tokyoxjapanxfan 5th December 2011 09:03 AM

i really like it!

though it is totally different than what I was expecting! haha
it has a bit of an indies feeling to it, but maybe that's just me. haha

it sounds pretty original and the video is appealing!

ayurocks20 5th December 2011 09:28 AM

it reminds me of the covers of Maki Goto's Gloriosa album.
Lady Gaga's Bad Romance video.
and... Ayumi Hamasaki's "Sexy Little Things" & "Crossroads" video. I love it :)

koumori 5th December 2011 02:57 PM

She seems like a totally new artist..I like the song, it's catchy. The PV is fun and the dance parts are good! She looks so pretty :heart

freedreamer 5th December 2011 04:35 PM

the song is..not what i expected lOL..still...mixed about it. i expected something stronger in terms of melody and essence. :X from that image.
the MV is quite creative though..haha
i love the scenes with her hair flushed back and its just white-ish

Lady~Deviance 5th December 2011 05:44 PM

wow...I actually like the song and the video. :yes Nami definitely has come a long way since her debut. She's like a completely different artist now. :P

Beauty4123 5th December 2011 07:02 PM

omg, i love the song & the PV. :heart i'm very happily surprised, because i didn't know what to expect from nami this time, and the song is just amazing. and the PV, too. awesome dancing. :D nami's different looks in the PV are so cool, too.

Mirai Noah 5th December 2011 07:16 PM

Reminds me of Maki Goto's Avex music, and also Ravex. I like it! :D

AyumiAi 5th December 2011 09:55 PM

she's changed so much! X) hehe she's really good I hope this brings her success :)

AyuGAME 6th December 2011 04:18 AM

totally different...from pop rock to electro techno - i feel a lot ami suzuki vibe...i can totally imagine ami sing this song...i feel the song is so flat...

NintendoHTF1242 6th December 2011 04:48 AM

How does she go from straight-up R&B to this so fast? Damn.

Sadly, I thought I was going to like the song...but it's so flat and boring :/ But those strings (or synthesizer strings) are UNF!!

ayurocks20 6th December 2011 06:57 AM

Yeah... there's this annoying note that plays for the entire song. There's no chord progression > . < I can't see this charting well... but I still prefer it to Give Me Up & Friends

RikkuK 6th December 2011 05:22 PM

Covers look a lot like Lady GaGa

ayurocks20 10th December 2011 11:49 PM

Nami will be performing on some christmas special. I think it will be broadcasted on TV... I'm not sure.

Here's hoping we get some live promotion of LADY MIND.

*hearT_Place* 11th December 2011 06:15 AM

^I hope so too!

I really like both the song and video for LADY MIND. I love the choreography and I love the styling (My favorite looks are the one w/ the white background where she has her hair pulled back and the more boyish look, where her hair is shorter and messy)!

Kaiouforever 11th December 2011 08:19 PM

Amazing song! So fresh and fun...I absolutely love it. And she looks great with her hair up and in that sweater. So glad to see something so amazing from her!

Zeke. 11th December 2011 10:45 PM

The new song is so boring. It doesn't go ANYWHERE. and that background noise is annoying. I miss her old stuff! It was very energetic and fun!

ayurocks20 24th December 2011 04:48 AM

I've been listening to 'LADY MIND' a lot lately and I actually really love it. The song definitely sounds better in higher quality. The PV quality of it on youtube really doesn't do it any justice. There's so many different layers of beats and synths to the song that are just brilliantly put together.

If she gets a few performances on CDTV, Happy Music, Heyx3 or Music Station, this could really be a hit. Imperial Records better not screw her over T_T

ALSO, Nami recently performed on a Christmas Party Live TV show for Music Japan (I think). She performed:

1. New Song
2. Reason
3. Lady Mind
4. Believe
~MC~
5. (Ballad that I forgot the name of)

Already a new song! =D I hope it gets an April release to coincide with her special 9th Anniversary Concert.

ayurocks20 24th December 2011 05:21 AM

Higher Quality version of the PV. It looks and sounds better in Higher Quality=D

Edit: Never mind, it got blocked haha.
